So easy to assemble!

This was so simple to put together, yet it is very sturdy. I also love how easy it is to clean up. It is perfect for transport too with the comfortable grip handle and air flow slats. Works well as a crate trainer too for potty training. Our little dog feels comfortable in it, like it is his den. It will get damaged if you place something too heavy on top of it. Under normal use though it should last for years.

I'm actually impressed with this travel crate/cage.

We have ferrets. If you ever get ferrets, God have mercy on your souls. They are TONS OF FUN, but they are a handful and tons of work. Transporting them, oddly enough, is one of the easier things to do - we take our ferrets with us every so often to Granny and Granddaddy's house in Florida, which is a solid 8 hour drive. Granny and Granddaddy REALLY love their grandchildren a lot to let us bring ferrets to their house. We were concerned with how the ferrets would travel in a small enclosure, but for those of you who are not familiar with ferrets, they can sleep 18 hours a day - almost as much as daddy! (That's me...) So they initially put up a kerfuffle, but once they realized there was no way they were getting out, they gave up and went to sleep. This cage was a great size for two ferrets. I think it would hold three or four if they get along well. (Ours do!) As far as construction, I was expecting to give this a 1 or 2 star review when I was assembling it - as other reviewers have noted - it is entirely made out of plastic. But after assembling it, I was impressed with the design and it actually seems like it may hold up. Don't get me wrong, this isn't some incredible cage that is indestructible, but FOR THE MONEY, it is a pretty nice cage and has some nice design features. For instance, it is VERY EASY to disassemble for cleaning. Our ferrets are PRETTY GOOD at letting us know when they need to go to the bathroom, but sometimes they wake up from a four hour nap and they just don't have any time for us to get to a rest stop or exit. The cage is very easy to take apart and use lysol wipes to clean it out quickly. Also, you can use the door - OR you can just lift the top off of the crate and let the animals out that way. And once you take it apart, it takes up very little space to store it. We have been pleasantly surprised with the Midwest Spree Travel Carrier | Hard-Sided Pet Carriers Ideal for Extra-Small Dogs, Cats & Other Small Animals and for the price, would recommend it heartily to anyone looking for a small, well-designed travel cage for smaller animals like ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats and/or sea monkeys. Ok, probably not sea monkeys, but you get the idea. :-) I hope you find this review helpful and perhaps a little humorous as well. I feel like that reviews are super important on Amazon and they really help me determine if a product is worth buying or not - so I try to return the favor and leave a review that will honestly tell you whether a product is good or not. Great for quick transports!

We needed a carrier that would serve well for quick transporting our kitties without breaking our backs. This one is perfect for us! Not heavy like some other carriers, and much easier to assemble and manipulate than the metal versions. Door is easy for us to unlock as well. Like others have mentioned, this carrier is easy to disassemble and use half which our cats will really like as a little bed! So far we really like what we have here. Will update if that changes.

Great Carrier for Small Pets, Door Opens from Either Side, Really Easy to Assemble

The Midwest Spree Travel Carrier is a great lightweight carrier that is suitable for small pets under 10 lbs. The husband has been looking for a small carrier to carry a couple of doves in. He regularly uses doves in his magic act and found this kennel perfect for transporting the birds in. The kennel has one of the most clever assembly designs - there are no bolts and screws to deal with and the kennel is assembled by cleverly designed plastic knobs. The door can be opened from either the left or right side, and if you wish, you can easily remove the door completely. Because of the knob locking design, I wouldn’t carry a heavy animal in this carrier, although a larger animal would’t fit very well anyways. My 16 lb Papillon could fit in this carrier, but he’s not able to turn around very easily. My friend’s 8 lb Papillon easily fit in this carrier with room to comfortably turn, and the carrier felt durable enough to carry her around in. Outside of the door and plastic loops to add a strap to,, there are no moving pieces or compartments to stow snacks in. I liked how the top didn’t feature a swing type handle to carry the kennel, but instead had a comfortable molded fixed handle. While this definitely isn’t the prettiest carrier, it definitely is very functional and that left/right opening door makes this carrier a winner. Overall, if you’re looking for a solid carrier for small pets, this is a good one to consider.

Don't Head for the Vet Without It!

The Midwest Spree Travel Carrier works super well for a smaller animal. We have a cat and this works perfectly for her! Plan on using it for vet visits. The carrier itself is smaller so only for small dogs or cats. It came in two pieces but you can lock the bottom half in place. I like that you can remove it. Makes for easier cleaning. BOTTOM LINE: All in all a good product. Lightweight and feels pretty sturdy. Two thumbs up!

Perfect size for my cat!!

This was super easy to assemble. It took me 5 minutes max. My cat loves it surprisingly. I got this to use to take my cat to vet visits and such. I put my cat in it to see how she fit, and now she won’t get out. She’s sitting in it purring. I recommend this to anyone who needs a cat carrier. She is a smaller adult cat, but there’s plenty of room.
