• Everything you need: kit contains digital timer, 6 high-efficiency sprinklers, 125 feet of blue-lock Tubing and fittings, Tubing Cutter, and 200 lb. Pressure gauge.
  • Fast and easy installation: blue-lock has reduced required insertion force by half of traditional barb fittings, making installations faster and easier on your hands.
  • Push-on, quick-release fittings: blue-lock quick-release collars allow for easy removal, yet the stronger the water pressure, The more the retaining rings grip the pipe to ensure against leaks.
  • Environmentally friendly: blue-lock requires no glue or plumbers tape, protecting the environment from harmful chemicals used with traditional PVC fittings.
  • Conserve water: the timer features rain delay so you aren't watering in the rain.

We like to do our own yard, add new plants, change things around. But our summers are getting dryer in Seattle and we have to water. Since we add plants and even move some we really don't want to put a lot of money into an automatic sprinkler system which are designed for more permanent landscapes. We have been creating little watering/drip systems and using sprinklers. This is a great inexpensive way to set up a simple sprinkler system. It only comes with a four page single sheet of paper for instructions and I couldn't find anything online. And the instructions aren't perfectly clear. For instance I still don't quite have the arc adjustment down yet. But basically the instructions have you set up a trial run to see how it works than dig and bury the blue tubing and sprinklers. It comes with a pressure gauge to check your pressure at the faucet. Ours was 40psi which the included list shows about 15 feet for 35psi so maybe another foot or so for 40. I had one spot in particular near the corner of our fence so I measured 15 feet from each side to give me a starting point. I put one sprinkler at about the two points at 15 feet and made adjustments from there to get the best placement for what I wanted watered (I didn't want it going all the way to the fence). You can see from my photo how I set up a sprinkler to test it. I happened to have a stake with a hook on it but you could hold it to a stake with a string or something. It turned out I only need one sprinkler to get the area I was working on. Although later I may add more and have them overlap to get more water around in less time. Something else you need to consider is that when you are testing the sprinkler is actually twice as high because you are going to be burying it. That will reduce the height and length of the spray. Not a lot but if you had a plant on the very edge of the range it may not reach that far once buried. After the testing I found I needed to change the tubing of course. Instructions weren't clear or I missed them but in order to get the tubing out of a sprinkler or the garden hose connector it was suggest by customer service to pull on the two tabs on the blue piece, give a little push on the tubing then pull it out. Unfortunately I just pulled and ruined my hose connector. I called their customer service. I don't know if they are just getting started or just selling a lot but I was on hold for quite a while maybe 15 to 20 minutes. And each time I talked to someone they weren't all that familiar with the product. I was finally routed to someone who may have been a product manager or something who actually knew exactly what part I needed and told me how to disconnect the tubing. But I will say they were all friendly and worked on trying to solve the problem. I dug a trench 8 inches down and only about 2 inches wide using a grass edging tool to cut the grass and a narrow hand shovel to dig it out. I did have to pry a few rocks that were bigger than my trench. It comes with a timer so I set it up to run in early morning at about 1 am. I ran it for two hours but the sprinkler does make a full 360 degree run. I put a pan out and didn't get a full inch of water. Which is why I will be adding more sprinklers or just let it run longer. This is a great but inexpensive solution to setting up a simple watering system so you don't have to move hoses and sprinklers around. This will also be really useful when you go on vacation for any length of time.

This is a great complete kit. There's a water pressure gauge that reads to 200psi (100psi would have been more than enough and more accurate), a medium-duty plastic hose cutter that works on any softer line (hose, PEX, etc.) and does a nice job. It's all plastic except for the blade. The connectors are genius - the line pushes in so easily. Use the wrong connector or the hose needs to be trimmed? Pull down on the two plastic "handles" and you can pull the hose out. If you've ever worked with the connectors used with drip water main lines, you know what a pain those are. These are a world apart. The included hose is heavy duty (I shot a photo of a cross section) - the manufacturer suggests setting the spool out in the hot sun for a while. If you're in a hurry you can attach the hose connector and run hot water through it from a laundry room sink. Either way, take off the tape first. The timer is versatile and works well, simple to program and use. The sprinkler heads disassemble without tools - each one has a medium mesh filter. Between trenching, burying, etc. this is an afternoon to an all day project.

The 1-zone kit comes with 6 oscillating heads and that is the max that the tubing can handle and still have good head to head coverage. If you have lower than 45 psi at the hose bib then you may need to run less heads. This lock tube system is so much easier to install than traditional pvc pipe and flex hose. Everything you need is included. You don't have to apply cleaner and glue. You also don't have to wait for it to cure before testing. Once assembled you can put pressure on it immediately. It is a good idea to test the install before backfilling the dirt to make sure all your fittings have been installed properly. If you need to remove a fitting it is easy to do. It reminds me of SharkBite fittings. The 125 ft of 1/2" tubing is a good amount but if your zone is far from your hose bib you may need extra length. It runs about $0.50 per foot in smaller lengths. The fittings are a good price in this kit as individually they run about $10 each. The kit is the best way to purchase as you are saving a lot compared to individually. The 2-Zone kit is an even better deal. The fittings are much stronger than traditional barbs and faster to install. If you need to adapt from a traditional pvc system there are slip to Blu-lock fittings available. There are also 3/4" and 1/2" thread to Blu-lock fittings too. Running the entire system in Blu-lock tubing also makes it easier when digging trenches as you don't have to go in straight lines. You can also go around tree roots and other obstacles without worry. No need for 90 and 45 fittings, hose barb fittings, teflon tape, cleaner and glue. It is really a much more simplified system. I imagine professional irrigation systems will be migrating to this type formate soon as well. It simplifies and solves a lot of complications. It would be great if Orbit released a kit with 4" pop-ups and other fixed spray heads. An in-ground valve manifold system would round out the offerings as not everyone will want a hose-bib supplied timer. You will probably want to get a 2 way or larger hose bib splitter to go with this kit so you can keep the use of your hose bib for other needs. That is the one item I think they should have also included in the kit. There are so many cheap hose bib splitters on the market I would really like to see a quality one from Orbit. The pressure gauge and tubing cutters are good ones just like what I use on pvc pipe installs. Other than the trenching and backfilling, this system takes about 4 hours or less to install fully. That includes sprinkler head adjustments. I really like this system and can't wait to see it mature and grow in components. 5 stars.

Everything you need. Super easy to assemble - it all just pushes together. The blue tubing and fittings are rock solid. I have had mine installed for over 3 years and no problems whatsoever. The timer has a strong solid connection to the faucet (machined brass) and it is the most simple timer I have ever programmed - works every time and I have used the same AA batteries for 3 years. The sprinklers are rock solid as well. The only negative I could come up with is that it doesn't have more fittings because I want to build more! Great purchase!

Arrived just in time to install in our vegetable garden - so much easier than hand-watering or even setting a sprinkler. We can give just the right amount of water on a timed basis. Very pleased - wish the tubing were brown, but we’re getting used to the blue!

This system is super easy to put together and make custom configurations. It provided enough for us to install a system that covers our entire yard and which is much easier to use than an above ground sprinkler and you don't have to worry about reeling in the hose and everything. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and everything worked as expected... the hardest part is putting in the labor to figure out the best configuration for your yard and of ourse the manual labour involved in digging the actual canal for it to sit in... tank goodness we have two teens and an energetic child that we could put to work. Now we just have to hook up and disconnect the hose part from the ground to the faucet. The only thing I'm unsure about right now is how this will hold up over the winter in MN. I'm not sure how we could flush out the water and I hope whatever we end up doing will not leave enough water in there to freeze and damage any parts. I guess I'll have to get back to this review in about 9 months to update the review on how well it holds up. If there's no updates... I guess it worked fine.

This comes with everything you need to setup sprinklers. From great detailed instructions to a pipe cutter for the pipes. We are using this for our garden spot since we already have a sprinkler system and this hooks up to a faucet. Very impressed with the quality and does a great job!

We have thousands of feet of Blu-Lock product in our yard for trees, bushes, and grass. The blue pipe is easy to cut, and the connections are snap-on and leakless. All the attachments are great too. A little harder to find this product and local stores, however. This specific kit is great. It's very easy to install and perfect if you do not have an irrigation outlet at your home. The hardest part is trenching, but that is true for any system. Once you've trenched, the install is as easy as rolling out the pipe, cutting it, snapping on connections, and then testing it for leaks. We installed this on a side yard and it works great. The sprinkler heads work very well too. Keep in mind that once you go with Blu-Lock, you'll have to stay with it. The pipe is not quite a match for some of the other products on the market. Still, an easy to use system that we can highly recommend.
