Out of the box, found out that the blade does not lock into place the hard way. any way the company was very generous in replacing the knife,so I'm just waiting for it. That's very cool! Stay tuned 👍...(continue) 11-30-2016...I received my replacement knife today in excellent condition. Everything works good and it looks good too! Coodos to alpha tek for replacing my knife very quickly! Your awesome 👍👍👍

Appears to be very durable and study enough to do what I need it to do. Has a fine sharp blade and a serrated edge for cutting small pieces of wood. Love the bottle opener as much as the rest of the items on the knife. The spring assisted opening of the knife can be manually opened without the fast opening of the knife. Appears NOT to be "accidentally" opened when objects are physically against the knife. We will see how well it performs in the next couple of months while using it at work and will post a follow up. I work with mobile antennas and masts that have a lot of physical handling with military trainees and will be using this knife cutting Kevlar guy ropes as well as trimming and cutting coaxial cable for replacement connectors and lot more involving communication electronics.

I have now had this knife for two years. I was recently in a minor car accident that left my car operable but a large part of the undercarriage had partially torn off and was dragging and flapping on the road. The smooth edge, though kept VERY sharp, was of no use, but the serrated edge made it possible for me to slice right through several inches of thick automotive plastic in one stroke. If I hadn't had it with me I would have had to call a tow truck to protect the rest of my car from the loose material banging around the wheel well and undercarriage. This is my everyday carry knife. I use it many times in any given week. I keep it sharpened with a regular knife sharpener. The spring assist open is still tight and fast, the blade still holds a very sharp edge, and the rest of the knife feels as solid and well put together as it did the week I bought it. Of the numerous knifes I bought when looking for "my" EDC, this is the only one that I really like, because of how well the spring load triggers the blade into the locked position. Spring assist opens the knife lightning fast with a reassuring "shik" noise as the blade locks on the liner. I bought it after having to fight an offleash attacking pit bull barehanded. Never again. This knife is perfect for that purpose, and I always carry it while walking my dog. After she was nearly killed I have no problems remembering to pocket it. Probably too heavy for EDC. The glassbreaker end is the first line of defense (cracked against the skull) and if that doesn't put the pit in time out, there's always the sharp end. It has kept a razor edge with monthly sharpening. Absolutely worth the price and then some. I tried five other knives that opened slower and didn't seem like they could be deployed fast enough and reliably enough to help in that kind of situation, because that kind of attack happens with no warning and almost instantly. You might have half a second to react. You can't be fumbling with a stiff release or needing to lock the blade by hand. This knife is reliable and has a clean, fast mechanism and sturdy build.

Great looking knife. Opens perfectly and quickly. It came with a nice sharp edge right out of the box. I love the finish. It actually almost looks aged in a very good way...like you've you had it for years. It actually has a great feel and does feel like you've had it for years. I'm glad I checked out the reviews and made the right choice before I bought it. I could not be happier with it.

Bought this for my boyfriend a year ago and he absolutely loves it. He always has on him. He was just commenting on how he uses it daily. He is not gentle with it. He said that it shows wear but it is not excessive. The only drawback that he mentioned was that the spring assist is a little weak. It takes a little extra flick of the wrist to open it fully, but its a great value for the price. I got this one for him because he lost the Kershaw that he used to use as his daily knife. The Kershaw was better quailty but this knife is much more practical for a daily knife that has the potential to be broken or lost. I would not recommend it for a hunting knife though just because of the serration. Overall an excellent buy especially for the price.

Fun and whimsical way to create a sacred place for glasses. Way more fun than searching for the stupid glasses. Got for my husband, a big time reader - wanted something that brings as smile, has a wee bit of class (some, not a whole lot), is wooden, as well as being functional. Good quality. Score!

This will be an ongoing review, AlphaTek sent me an email asking for either a review, suggestions for improvement, or if I was dissatisfied: Week 1: 5-stars currently. Going to carry and use everyday to test it out for a few months. Everything in the description is accurate. The assisted opening is very strong, snaps open with confidence. Very light knife, but appears very durable. Bottle opener works with blade open or closed. Update, 5 months later: I still abuse this knife regularly, both as a knife and bottle opener. Doesn't take much time to hone the edge every now and then to keep it razor sharp. Very little visible wear with almost daily use (5/7 days a week typically. Still solid and tight. Still 5 stars. 9 month update: Going strong. I live in a very dry climate, so perhaps that's why I've had no corrosion issues that I saw some others had. My screws are all tight (but I've taken it apart for cleaning and put it back together). Had to clean it because ... well I was using it for digging in hard dry dirt and rocks. Needed a hole for a torch and also wanted to continue to be rough with this knife. Opened about 50 bottles since the last update. Used in 100's of cutting tasks. Handle still intact, has some scrapes but I am being intentionally mean to this knife. As for an improvements? At this point (9 months) I've come up with two: 1. The serrations suck. I mean they work, but they tear, they don't cut. Offer a model with no serrations and improve the serrations on the model that keeps them. 2. allow the pocket clip to be moved around. From right to left and from tip down to tip up. I would really prefer tip up carry with this knife.

This is a great knife. It is easy to open, and it is not difficult to close. One handed opening is a snap. One handed closing is even possible (if done carefully). The blade size was perfect for me. I use it for doing work around the house and outside, as well as for hunting. The blade came very sharp, but I used some Arkansas sharpening stones to make the blade super razor sharp. The blade holds an edge very well. I am not really sure if there is great use for the bottle opener portion (especially if you are using the opener on beer bottles - alcohol and a very sharp knife may not be a great combination). The knife has been through a lot. It has been used on a variety of surfaces. I have had no nicks or scratches in the blade. It's been dirty, and with a quick cleaning, it's just like new. I highly recommend this knife.

I really love my Alpha Tek knife. The knife is pitch black from the handle to the tip of the blade. It has helped me open more things than I can count. I have not tried opening a beer with it so I can not say anything in regards to the beer opening part. I don't think I will because it's such a cool knife I don't want to risk messing it up. It was packaged very nicely and it came inside a box where the knife laid in velvet like material. The blade is exactly 3.5 inches from where it meets the handle to the very tip. It also clips nicely onto your waist. I see no way that it can randomly pop open which is good because that's the last thing you want. It is extremely sharp! I'm definitely going to have to look into some more of their knives.

I am a farmer. Throughout the day I need a knife I can pull from my pocket and open quickly for slicing through the twine on hay bales, clearing out water pipes, cutting strings to tie up vines, a myriad of uses. They are a good size and feel good in the hand. My husband is especially keen on his because he can open the tops of his bottles so he can have a drink while working in the gardens. I had to laugh! We have been using them for a couple of months now and they are still sharp. A great knife. cecilia
