Sounding like a professional singer

I bought two Bonaok microphones: the Bonaok 2019 upgraded version (D-03) and Bonaok Q37 microphone. The D-03 is gold and the Q37 microphone is rose gold but they both look beautiful! They are both easy to use and easy to connect to Bluetooth devices. You don’t really need a speaker or any other equipment except your cellphone to have a great karaoke time, which means you can bring them anywhere. I brought them to my classrooms, to the beach, and to the park. They work really well in any environment. The Bonaok D-03 is longer and bigger and gives more control of volume and echo so it is more powerful. I take singing lessons and sing Broadway songs so I find D-03 more powerful in the sense that it captures better all the nuances and shades and tones of your voice and how you control your breath. Another thing worth mentioning is the Bonaok customer service. They responded to my emails in a professional and timely fashion. I bought the Bonaok Q37 microphone first and it came with a 20% off coupon. I didn’t know how to use it in the first place so I emailed to the email address provided. I got my response within 24 hours and used the coupon for the D-03. The customer service team was really nice. I am very happy with my purchase.

Old Man New Tech Finds the Bonaok Microphone Surprisingly GREAT!

HI, I’M BRIAN CAMPBELL WITH OLD MAN NEW TECH. I do reviews on budget electronics from a Generation X-ers perspective. For my fellow parents out there, I’ve got some sour news…your teens may not think that you’re as cool as you think are. I know, it’s tough. That’s why when the company Bonaok reached out to me to review their all-in-one karaoke microphone, with built in speaker, I was a little hesitant. I mean, karaoke was a big deal, starting in Japan, and gaining in popularity here in the states in the 80’s and 90’s. There’s no way a product like this could be considered “cool” now, right? But Mrs. Old Man insisted, so I jumped on to Amazon and ordered one, $54 and two later it showed up. So, from there, I waited for the right moment to introduce the Bonaok Karaoke Microphone into a social situation. More on this in minute. FIRST let’s take a look this microphone and what makes it different. UNBOXING: It’s a simple glossy box with some Japanese writing on one side and English on the other. It shows you that you can listen, record, store and charge from the device. Now, my first surprise comes when I open the box to find a pretty high-quality carrying case. Nice fabric exterior, rubberized handle, and even a carabiner to hang it up out the way when not in use. CONTENTS: Inside the carrying case you’ll find the a micro-USB charging cord (it takes about two hours for a full charge), a user manual in English and Japanese, and a 3.5mm audio jack to plug manually into another speaker or music device. Finally, we get the microphone itself along with a soft foam microphone cover (for wind noise and pops). FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Visually, the Bonaok Ulitmate Karaoke Microphone looks like a professional microphone should look with the exception of this speaker and control panel built in to the base. Now this one is grey and white, but you can find it in gold, brass and other colors. Links down below. Controls are on the speaker itself. You’ll find the MIC volume, Reerb, and Music volume on rocker buttons right next to each other. Below that you’ll find the Mode button that will allow you switch from Bluetooth to SD card, Power, and lyric elimination button. What’s nice too is that at the bottom here you can skip forward & back and pause & play. Now underneath, there’s a mini-SD slot for playing and recording music, a headphone jack, a micro-USB charging port and finally a regular USB port which not only gives you other options for linking, but allows you to use the microphone as a charging device. Cool! QUALITY/FIT: The microphone fits snug in the case. Now taking it out, I expected it to be a cheap toy. Not so! It’s solid with some heft to it. The exterior is a cool metal finish and metal mesh up top. Feels like it weighs about 12 ounces. Again, it’s got some heft and doesn’t feel cheap. PAIRING: The pairing happens when you press the power button and look for BONOAK-D03 on the Bluetooth settings on your device. PERFORMANCE: Once paired, I opened up YouTube and searched for a couple of Johnny Cash karaoke tunes with the lyrics. There are tons of karaoke content to look up online PLUS Bonaoak has a few apps that you’ll find in the user manual but YouTube is the easiest to use and find. I could also pair this microphone to other speakers, but the novelty of this device is that it’s portable and has everything you’ll need in one little carrying case, so this review will focus solely on the microphone and its built-in speaker. So, the microphone is set to default as a close range microphone, which is important because it’s not going to pick up a lot of background noise. It picks up voices clear with minimal popping of the p’s and decent resonance. Once you start singing into the mic, you can play with the reverb, or echo, to give your voice that karaoke feel. The built-in in speaker is surprisingly a good sounding speaker, that picks up decent highs and mid-ranges. The bass levels are a little low, but that’s to be expected in a speaker of this size. The sound mixing of your voice with the music is seamless and you can play with the volume easy enough to make it sound the way you like. With a full charge, you’ll be good for 6-10 hours depending on your volume. Speaking of volume, again this is not a powerhouse of a speaker so you’re not going to be singing to a large party. This is built for more intimate settings of 6-10 of your best buds. You know, people that you’re not afraid to embarrass yourself in front of (see video). And get ready to pass the mic around a lot, because so far, the teens have had a blast with this. FINAL IMPRESSIONS Now I expected the The Bonaok Ultimate Karaoke Microphone to be a cheaply made, kind of useless, toy that would be quickly shuffled off into the back of a closet somewhere. But, what I found was a cool device that was well made, came with nice accessories, quality sound and was relevant to my family and friends. I mean, if there was a party going on and I dropped it in the middle of it, fun things started to happen. So I’ve got to give the Bonaok Ultimate Karaoke Microphone a surprising THUMBS UP!

Sounds great! SD card option is a must for little ones

I own another karaoke mic that requires iPad connection every time my kids want to use it, so I was looking for more of a stand-alone option. This mic have a SD card support which lets me put tons of song on just a 8GB card. I wouldn’t recommend anything bigger or it’ll take you forever to cycle through songs. My kids now can just pick up and sing with me. The sound is great and independent volume control for voice and music is perfect since my mp3 are in different volume. I did run into a strange scenario where the mic was picking up deleted song from the SD card. I verify on both windows and macOS and don’t see the files. I ended doing a fat32 format and it’s fixed. Hope this helps someone who runs into this issue. Cheers!

Surprisingly great sound quality!

In the listing’s pictures the gold looks quite yellow and the rose gold quite pink, but in person they’re much more true to their color names! RECORDING: Love that it came with the foam head cover, which really helps sound quality when recording. You can record on your phone via bluetooth or connect the included cable directly to your phone. Definitely recommend using the cable over bluetooth— the recorded audio is MUCH clearer using the cable. The recorded sound quality is amazing and crisp and picks up all the nuances of your voice, BUT... there’s a constant quiet high pitched whine in the background, due to what I assume is some kind of fan inside the mic to keep it cool? I assume the whine is less noticeable if you have musical accompaniment, but I was testing with just my speaking voice. If you’re audio-editing-savvy I’m sure there’s a way to neutralize the sound in post since it’s just quiet background noise. KARAOKE: Pleasantly surprised with the volume output of this mic! My cats don’t like it because it gets loud, haha. I love that I can control the music volume and my vocal volume separately, and adjust the level of echo. I haven’t tried the vocal cancellation feature, which neutralizes the existing vocals in a song so you can sing with just the instruments, but there are plenty of reviews on youtube that show it does, in fact, work! I’m really happy with these mics. I got two for hosting karaoke parties at my house. Highly recommended!

Surprisingly inexpensive for such a good fantastic microphone. Love it.

We got the blue tooth pairing right away. The music came on immediately. We had a hard time getting the voice to come on. Even tried to call online customer care. However it was quite easy to figure out ourselves. I have always wanted a microphone like this to practice my songs. My voice is too soft. This microphone was god given. Exactly what I needed and wanted. And so inexpensive, I’m surprised I got it under $50. The music is fantastic and the voice comes out very well. The slight echo provided I think by the reverberations makes it sound even better. The music, the voice and the reverberations can individually be adjusted for volume. Also it looks gorgeous. I simply love it.

It does what it says, only better.

I really like this updated version. It sounds amazing and easier to control buttons. I really had a great time using it, that I forgot I have the $500 unit in my AV stand. I even have friends buy and try it, and they all have the same experience of singing for hours. The convenience of being able to take this unit anywhere is what really got me to decide in buying another one. When you get the card inside the package, e-mail them for the coupon code, which I did, and got the 20% off of my next purchase which I already did ordered.

Good stress reliever and fun stuff

It is one of those things makes my life cheerful and musical when I feel stress and busy with school stuff! My friend has an older model of this and let me use her to have fan out of it... I loved it very much so that is how I am into this karaoke 🎤 mic! I would say that this is such a fun investment in your life and you can make everyday life musical if you are like me! :) Good sound quality and the echo system and it brightens your day when you sing it out!! Great little value

Got this for kids and it’s a great hit. She has her own speaker now and a bonus microphone. The speaker quality is not a big drop off from my $100 boom. Battery is solid as well. Mic works well. You can use this Spotify or any app and decrease the lyrics volume. Or you can YouTube any karaoke song on your phone and go from there.

Good sound quality for the price

Have owned this microphone two or more months and it hasn't failed me since. It is very easy to connect and use. The buttons to adjust the volume of the mic and music as well as the echo button are all easy to use. It's just a matter of adjusting the settings to your own liking. The voice quality is good and the music quality when you play music through its speakers are also great. Of course, it isn't the most perfect speaker+mic, but I bought a different mic before and I can certainly say that this one sounds better. It has a better bass production plus not too much treble. It actually makes you sound like a singer and not so much of a bathroom singing lol.

I order D-03 and Q37. First I order Q37 and it is great and easy to use. You can just connect to your iphone or ipad. It is fun to use it. It comes with 15% discount card, which I had to email to get the discount code. And I order D-03, it's larger than Q37, and sound quality is better. one function for D-03 that Q37 doesn't have, is that it can mute the human sound when you sing. that's cool, even that make not work for all song, but it works for most of them. Specially when you can not find the version that only has music. I love it. My daughter really love it, and her friend come to my house, and she love it so much. So I just order another D-03 for her.
