Easy "check engine" fix.

A friend recommended a blue tooth device you connect to your car to get diagnostic data. It gave me a code and I looked the code up online. Fuel vapor leak. The recommended fix was to replace the seal on the gas cap. I first bought the seal but It was too much of a pain to replace it on the gas cap so I bought a new gas cap. After putting this new cap on and running my car for a bit the check engine light went off and hasn't come back on. The device cost me $106.00 with tax but can be reused. The gas cap cost me $20.13. So the repair cost me $126.13. The local repair shop would have charged me $60.00 for the evaluation + $25.00 for the part + $100 for labor + 6% tax.

Toyota 4Runner check engine fix

I purchased this item hoping to clear the check engine light that had recently lit up on my Toyota 4Runner 2005. The installation was very easy and took approximately 2 minutes. The check engine light did not immediately come off. I had to refill my gas tank and then the next morning after the car was off for a few hours the check engine light did not come back up. It was an affordable and easy fix! The cap is a little stiffer and harder to twist because it is new.

Works well for 2005 Toyota Sequoia

My check engine light came on the other day and I used my OBD2 scanner to check what code was pulling up. After looking up what P0456 meant, it was a small leak in the EVAP system. The cheapest option I saw online was to make sure the gas cap was sealing properly. After driving the car for another day, the check engine light didn't turn off so I purchased this gas cap. After installing it and trying to reset the check engine light, the check engine light turned off on its own. Money well spent and gave me ease of mind my car is still in good shape.

Solved Toyota 4Runner EVAP Code

I drive a 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I was getting the code to replace my gas cap. Research showed that after some time the seal of the gasket can deteriorate. This new gas cap solved the problem, I reset the code, new cap saved an expensive service call at the dealer.

Exact replacement for our 2005 Toyota Corolla

Was having check engine light issues. Error code indicated gas cap. 2nd time for the same code. Replace with this cap. Looked just like the original. Check engine light went out after a day after installation and we are getting better gas mileage! Yahoo!

Perfect replacement on '05 4Runner

Easy to install direct replacement on my 2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I wanted to make sure I got one with the 'line' that attaches the gas cap to the fuel door. Pops right into the factory hole. The line seems a little shorter than factory, but only a little, doesn't interfere with anything. The only other difference from factory, the original was a 'click-clack' style cap, where this one is spring loaded without the audible 'clicks' when fully tightened.

Had engine light come on ... Used obd II toes that here was a Leake in the vacuum system Web said try changing gas cap. Changed gas cap. no more problems.

Fixed the problem!

Saved me a ton of money. Service light went out immediately after the simple fix of a new gas cap on my 13-year old Toyota. What a car! Every year I'm set to buy a new one, but the old one is still only costing me 300 or 400 dollars a year to maintain (with simple fixes like a new gas cap).

Perfect fit to replace factory original

Used to replace factory original gas cap for a 2004 4Runner. Great fit, fair price, release and click-to-close mechanism work great, and the push button plastic dongle to affix to the gas cover door was easy. Money well spent.
