Great for the Price!
The instructions do not specifically lay out battery placement, one is positive down and the other positive up. On first glance, it looks like they would both be positive up. As such, the NVG does not appear to work until the batteries are installed correctly. That said, for the price these are great. I've been in the military and Federal service as an operator for almost 30 years, mount these to a helmet with an IR light/laser source on a rifle, and go!

Great digital night vision for the price. But ..Buy a better weaver rail mount or camera adaptor
Actually for a cheap digital night vision sight .. It does what is needed out to about 100 yards ..does focus quite clear ..its really a pretty good decent 2x unit equal to a basic gen 1 without worries of light exposure killing the tube and sees in color during day and black and white at night . And yes it does feel very close to a real pvs14 but a bit lighter and digital not tubed As a helmet mount type unit i wouldn't suggest it due to it being 2 power ..hard to walk in 2x ....however. Im deducting 1 star because ..the mounts that come with it are functional but plastic . Would give it 5 stars if it came with a metal weaver mount .. A real pvs 14 rifle mount would probably hold it. I wouldn't use it on anything with real recoil . but for a .22 rimfire rifle or pcp air rifle.. Fun for night time rodent control Anything with a range of about 100 yards its awesome .. Add a cheap laser to your shootin iron ..sight in the dot.. and go. Also even better to use with a better IR. Flashlight. the illuminator that comes on it isn't really as powerful as id like it to be
