Fun for all ages!

After reviewing MANY different building style toys, I opted for PlayShire Brain Flakes. For some quick background information, I run a very busy elementary school library. On days that students are checking out their books they often need a side activity while waiting their turn to browse. There are so many activities, but many schools, like ours, are currently encouraging STEM sidebars. LEGOs, I love them, but they are so loud! The same for Magnoforms and many others. Brainflakes are just as fun- more so, in my opinion, and have the added benefit of being quiet. They haven't made it to the school yet though because the adults are still building with them. What really sold me on this company over the others was the offer of more plans. Some like to let their imaginations run wild and others like to build according to plans. Thanks PlayShire for a great product. This may be the second product review I've ever written, but I really thought they were worth it!

Nine reasons we love this toy!

We are so pleased that we bought this toy for our children! Pros: 1. My kids return to play with this toy just about every day. 2. My kids use their imaginations when they play with this toy. 3. My kids use teamwork and develop ideas as a group when they play with this toy. 4. This toy is easy to pick up. 5. This toy makes no obnoxious noises. 6. When I happen to walk across this toy scattered about the living room floor in the middle of the night, there are no sharp pieces to pierce my feet. 7. All of my children enjoy playing with this toy. The baby is 16 months and she likes to put the pieces into the tub and dump them out over and over again. The 4 year old organizes the pieces by color when alone and can build simple structures on her own. The 5 year old gets really creative making things that she can use in other types of play. For instance, she will make a house for her teddy bear and then role play with the teddy bear. She pretends he is going to school and coming home to the house she built for him. My husband also enjoys ‘helping’ the girls play with this one. 8. This toy comes in a great storage tub. 9. This toy is waterproof. I don’t care if the girls take it into the bathtub.

Great Product/Great Customer Service

I received the item on time and in perfect condition. A few days later I received an email offering me a free design booklet. How nice is that. This company seems to go out of their way to have great customer service. Thank you! My 7year old nephew loved the fun flakes. He took them out and started building immediately. So much better than a phone or ipad.

BEST TOY

MY 9 years old twins can construct multiple items from this pack. The 600 pieces are plenty, but, OK they talked me into getting another in case they get really ambitious and want to build the super big castle. GREAT entertainment value.

Love this game!!

This game is so much fun!! I love that you can customize the board to play with just two people or play with a large group of 8. I've played Marbles and Jokers before with friends and really wanted to purchase my own, but was hesitant because it was so expensive. After almost buying it several times and letting it sit saved in my cart for a while, I finally decided to make the purchase to play the game on my most recent trip home to see my family. Now, I'm kicking myself for not buying it sooner. The game was a huge hit and everyone had a ton of fun!

Beautiful game boards. The individual information cards are appreciated. We LOVE this game. The quality of the pieces is excellent. I highly recommend this particular game for lots of family/friends fun.

Awesome toy!

I bought these for my 9 year old. He has a huge imagination and loves to build things so I thought he'd love them, and he does. They push together easily, and you can make anything you can think of pretty much. Even my 3 year old likes trying to make things with them. These are great, and for a great price. I highly recommend.

From Ignoring to Adoring

I bought Brain Flakes for my precocious 4-year-old great-granddaughter(I know, every Grandma thinks that) and put them without comment on a favorite table in her play room at my house. On her first visit she asked what they were and all I said was she could “make things” with them. She did nothing. so I made a simple item before her next visit. As she left, she surprised me with a very elaborate sculpture she had made. The flakes have since become prized possessions!!

After I ordered these, I received an email from Playshire and they sent me an ebook of 30 more designs that the kids can build!

I bought 10 of these for my younger nieces and nephews for Christmas. I like the idea that they have instructions on how to build things that are included in the kit to get them started plus they can be creative and use their own imagination to build things! Thanks for a great product!

Expensive, but if you can swing it it is a very fun game and enjoyable for kids and adults. Little ones it would be too hard for but you could have fun just playing with them with the marbles and board! : ) The colors are beautiful and it will last a very long time! It is a lot like sorry with marbles and had everyone , laughing and talking and just having fun! Can play with 4 to eight. Love this game! : ) We made cards with pictures of our family on them and it made the game even funner! : )
