Another critical Jeep component.

Installed this spare tire brake light behind a 17” AEV Pintler wheel. Looks great. Unit appears well made, hard plastic, very rigid. LEDs are behind a tinted plastic cover which make them a little darker but still okay. Wouldn’t change it as this gives it a very clean look when you look through the wheel. The wires pop out of a grommet on the back. Wires are long although I didn’t need it. Unit’s dimension fills most of the space inside the 17” wheel. Only problem I had was my 37” tire requires the Teraflex hinged tire carrier to be at it highest setting which caused the bottom of the carrier’s mount to conflict with the back of the unit. (unit has a bump around the edge of the back that houses the leds and wiring.) The result is my unit does not sit entirely flush on the carrier mount. For any application I recommend using a push-on fastener (aka starlock) to hold the unit on when the tire is removed. I would buy again.

Bright and easy to install

All works perfectly. The only mistake I made when I installed it was not realizing that there was a dark spot where the wires connect on the back. I should have positioned that spot so it would fall behind an area on the rim. Easy fix that I've not gotten around to. You can see it at the 1:00 position on the pic attached.

Easy to install, bright lights when braking

I had my doubts about this disk of plastic. However it installed easily with just two wires attaching to my existing third brake light on my Jeep and is held in place by the spare tire. It seems as rugged as any other piece of plastic on the car. It adds a nice touch of style and extra safety as the lights are very bright when braking.

Smooth look.

Installed this on my sisters Jeep which had an oversized spare and deleted 3rd light. This made it a bit tricky to find the brake wires but wasn’t bad using a test light and a second person to bush the brake. Nicer than the one I have on mine. Would’ve purchased this one for mine if I knew better at the time.

Worth the money

Despite not coming with instructions. it easily splices into the 3rd brake light and is easily visible day or night. FYI the light only turns on when you brake (not a driving light)

Time will tell with durability vs price.

They shipped it super fast. Easy install. (I tapped into the existing 3rd brake light wiring). Added a waterproof quick connect I had along with some sheathing.
