I google things a lot typically before I decide on what to buy. I was googling "top 10 video and photography lights" and GVM brand came up several times often on the top 10 list more then once for different products. I have bought other GVM products before as well and always been really pleased! Considering the price for this set it is a really good buy! I found the colors to be accurate and have some basic RGB functions. The increments used for adjusting brightness and temp(3200K and 5600K) are a little broad but it's not really an issue. The built in wireless works surprisingly well and makes it very easy to adjust multiple lights at once. I haven't bothered with the wifi. These lights are pretty BRIGHT. Like ot hurts your eyes to look.directly at them when theyre turned up all the way. The included stands are sufficient and very adjustable but it took me bit to set them up and I felt like they could be more sturdy. Like all the GVM products Ive tried these come with the Mobile APP "GVM app". This gives you the option to control the lights from your phone or tablet. These lights plug in or can take 2 Sony F750/970 batteries each(not included) to supply power outdoor or indoor, cordless or plugged in. These lights are toted to last up to 100,000 hours which is beyond impressive even for LED lights. They come with 168 LED Beads and 84 RGB beads each. The barn doors on each one can be opened or closed and you can slide the included light diffusers on and off. You can adjust the color tenperature, hue and brightness from the knobs on the back (or the app). This video light has a really long lifespan and can last more than 100000 hours. The metal is aluminium alloy so I believe Ill get long use out of these lights! An amateur who's so in love with this light kit

I'm an amateur when it comes to photography and videography, but I really love trying to capture that perfect image and seeing how well the photos come out when I'm finished. I've purchased a few things to get myself started and did some research prior to investing in a lighting kit. This brand seems to be a well known brand, well known for great quality items at a great price. When I got them I was impressed from the start. The case to store these in is great. There's a section for each light as well as a pouch each one fits in, and a separate compartment that houses the stands and power cords, etc. Everything zips closed and there's an easy to carry handle to make transporting simple. The lights themselves are easy to set up, I must agree that the stands are a bit iffy to me, I feel like these could be a little stronger, but something small and tedious, and they definitely do the job they're designed to do. The app was easy to install and is equally easy to use. I'm able to adjust the lighting from there or I can do so manually, and I'm sure as I get more involved in photo shoots I'll have a preference as to which I prefer. The lighting is bright. There's different modes I can select, which is another plus, because sometimes my kids and I just like to have dance parties so being able to turn our living room into a dance club has been a lot of fun too. I personally believe there are an excellent set of photography lights. Whether you're an advanced photographer or a beginner like me. They are priced affordably and you get great quality lights backed with a warranty.

When I originally ordered these my plan was to replace my older studio lights with smaller LED panels so I could have them closer to my subjects. They come with two very nice tripods that are more heavy duty than the tripods that came with my other studio lights. The first mode is where the color temperature is between 3200K and 5600K. What's nice about these lights is the black barn doors. They work really well to deflect the light and control the temperature and direction. The light panel has a dimmer as well for warm and cold adjustments. The battery plate is for sony batteries so if you need these to work where you can't power them through a wall charger they are a quick set to take on the road thanks to the storage carrying bags. Comes with a power adapter so power sourcing is really convenient at any home or office or studio.

Wow. Just wow.

Wow. Just wow. As an amateur photographer i was a bit hesitant to spend so much money on lightning as i was not entirely sure of the benefits or if my skill level would hold up to the experience needed to properly work lighting into my photographs. After being recommended these by a friend in the industry i can confidently say my skill level or any skill level can easily master the ease of use for these. The lights are extremely user friendly and easy not only to use and set up but light weight enough that relocation is a breeze too especially given the included carry case. The color changing capabilities in addition to the warm and soft lighting abilities give you the perfect shot every time with just a flip of a button. My favorite feature by far is the 360 degree rotating bracket. It makes outdoor shots a breeze when trying to counteract the setting or rising sun for wedding or family portraits. So extremely versatile to any need definitely an amateur or really any photographers dream lighting experience. They are so very durable and well made as well. Not a metal expert either but pretty sure this is high quality material and definitely high quality lcd lighting with every bit of 3200k-5600K and 40W these can get as bright as you could ever need. You can tell the manufacture definitely cares about having a product that not only works amazing but will last for years to come.

Bright, functional, and a lot of fun features

These lights do a wonderful job of adding to the collection as they perform wonderfully. They aren't the brightest lights out there, but at this price point, their brightness is comparable to just about everything else like it. Only these offer a little more in the means of features. For one, like any light, it doesn't take rocket science to set any of it up outside of downloading the app and connecting the lights (if you haven't done that before with any of their connected lights). Within a few moments, the lights are up and going. They have two dial controls on the back that allow for (1) adjusting brightness and (2) adjusting hue, saturation, and temperature. You then have a mode with up and down arrow to flip through the options with (mode also initiates the Wifi reset process). They each have two battery slots on the back for mobile use. They don't come with any batteries but they do come with the AC cords for regular wall power (for each light). If you have the Sony batteries that they support (they should have their own version of the battery style as well as some of their other lights), they would make for great mobile lights thanks to their low weight. The app process is simple and it doesn't take long to walk your way through getting them connected to it. A few moments with the instructions and you're off and running with that as well. This is what makes this light so valuable for your shoot since you don't have to run around to adjust them by hand. Not only can you control them from the app, but they can be set up in host/slave configuration so that you are only adjusting one light, and then any light you have after that can follow along with whatever that light does. Perfect for making quick changes to your setup. Not only that, but they have special themes, such as party modes, a paparazzi flash effect, and a lightning effect. These are pretty cool (we especially liked the paparazzi effect and will most likely make use of that in a project at some point, just because it is there). This makes them a great candidate for videos all the same. The presentation of the product, in general, is nice. It comes with a nice padded/soft carrying bag to store everything in. When you open it, everything looks well organized and protected in individual felt bags so they remain in good condition between setups (assuming you keep the bags and don't just throw everything back into the case without them to save time). As I mentioned, they are light in weight, which makes them good for travel or moving them around. The quality of materials is just right, along with the tripods (although they are a bit stiff to open up for some reason). Great lighting outcome on my new videos! this is a great professional lighting set with app control! we have the side lights as well as the front light, this is very convenient if you are just starting your video or photography company, or you are an expert, the lighting kit comes with the carrying case and the app is crazy simple to use, even for non experts, the brightness is simple to control as well as the RGB mode to create the best lighting for my needs!

Being able to control the light features from your smart phone save us having to go back and forth

This professional lighting set goes above and beyond that just providing bright lights to better view your subject in your videography or photography project, but to actually be able to get just the amount of light and the color of the light to have your subject look even better before you press the shutter button. This three lights set is extremely personal as each has its own tripod and if you were able to set up the three lights together to be able to get the positioning that you desire. Controlling and is very straight forward, using the available app. Through the app and Bluetooth, you set one up as the master light and then the others get their information from that light on what they should do and how they should behave. This makes it straightforward to be at the subject and wanting to make your light adjustments without having to go back-and-forth between the lights and your subject to see how things look, you’re able to make those adjustments on the fly with the app on your smart phone. This kind of versatility helps you get your shots composed faster and easier saving time and money for you and you your subject. When you are done shooting everything collapses down nicely into the included Carrie in case so you will be ready for your next shoot. This makes storing and carrying them very easy. Great all in one for multi color lighting options

With everything going on we are setting up our own little photography studio in our upstairs loft. We were looking to upgrade over some of our old CFL bulbs to these new LED units. This three light kit is a really nice all in one studio lighting kit. For one the LED lights are great. A lot better over your old CLF lighting rigs. No more having the package and transport fragile bulbs. These lights are an all in one unit. You get your standard brightness and color temp controls. You can adjust between cool and warm lighting options. The real bonus that sets these lights apart is their ability to change colors. You don't need to set up another set of gel lights when shooting photos with colors. The back of the light features a nice LCD screen that is easy to read. The stands are your typical industry stands. They are nice and strong and don't have any issues with tilting forward. They come packaged in a really nice carrying case for easy storage and transport. So far we have been really impressed with the quality and easy these lights bring to our studio. A huge upgrade over the standard CFL lighting rigs.

Honest Review From A Videographer

I tried to find what I disliked about these lights as soon as I played with them the first few times, but nothing. I'm a videographer for a comedian and I also do photoshoots often. I must say anyone looking to purchase these vs. Only the temperature controlled ones- pick these RGBs. That little bit of extra money is worth the investment! These can be used in a professional line of work, as well as for niche videos/photos. The app control is nice, but I'd personally rather walk up to each light and manually adjust it(Yes, it takes time, but no more than 5 minutes to set up all the lights).

Complete 'scene effects' lighting kit for your studio

My daughter is building her e-commerce business, sleepwear and lingerie. She is building her own online catalogue with pics and vids using her own models. I have to say that, from what I've seen so far, I think she will do well. I've been helping as I can. One thing is creating her photography and videography studio here a home. We now have the two piece ambient lighting kit, the camera slider and now the three piece 'scene setting' lighting set. This three light set is so cool. All three lights can be controlled by the app, independently or any combination of 'master and slave' settings.
