Swivel mount to refine the focus and detection angle of the sensor.

I received this unit, which is the newest updated model, and set it up today. The setup was so simple. Absolutely no learning curve to setting it up. It came with mounting hardware and the setup guide is in English. I was impressed by how well-made the sensors are. I really have no worries about inclement weather damaging them. I tested the unit at approximately 1/4 mile in West Texas on an oilfield location. I needed this system to alert me to when trucks and other vehicles were coming down the road. This unit performed perfectly for what I needed it for and hasn't missed a car or person all day! The receiver for the unit has 4 channels, so you can add up to 4 sensors if you'd like. Each channel has a different sounding chime so you know which sensor has been tripped. The range of the unit never had a problem transmitting even out to that distance. Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

The unit comes minimally packaged in a molded clear plastic tray in custom box, inside the shipping box, so no worries of damage. There’s the sensor (with the solar panel, battery, switches and PIR) in a single-piece molded coffee-colored housing, and the black base/receiver unit, now with an external antenna and all the red LEDs to tell you where there is sensor activity, low battery, etc. There is also a USB/micro plug on a long cord to either recharge the sensor battery or power the base unit (which also runs on 4AA batteries, handy for checking out transmission/reception range and locations or in case of power failure.) Also a comprehensive User Guide and Quick Start in perfect English ;) Oh, and they even pack it with a screwdriver so you need nothing else for installation. After completing charging the sensor with the included plug (20 mins, comes almost fully charged), I put it near the gate to my 400ft long driveway. I have 2 large dogs (45# and 60#) and neither one of them alone will set it off. Both of them together will, and my body will, or a passing vehicle will – so quite sensitive against false alarms. There are 2 switches on the bottom of the sensor (for range and channel), and the plug should you need to boost the battery charge. These are behind a perfectly molded silicone flap on the bottom. We’ll see after one of our sluicing, days-long rains but it looks completely waterproof to me, on the bottom of the unit which shouldn’t really get wet anyway. I found this a convenient placement for changing the settings, too. The sensor is at the front of my lot, which is enough clear, and the receiver in the house 400ft away picks up the sensor being tripped without flaw. For a real challenge, I took the receiver to the back of the lot, almost 900ft away from the sensor, up a hill with my house in the middle, and such dense jungle with trees and undergrowth 6-10ft high there is no way you can just walk through it. Using a cell phone to coordinate with a friend tripping the sensor at the gate, the receiver went off EVERY SINGLE TIME the sensor was tripped!! I have zero doubt these units would go a full quarter mile and more through less dense natural obstructions (I’m not sure about buildings, but my whole house is in the way for this test!) So I am very happy I didn’t shell out 2-3 times as much for the expensive driveway alarms – this one has a fantastic range!!

The driveway alarm was packaged well and came with the necessary mounting hardware. It even included a small screwdriver. The picture shows everything after I took it out of the box. On the sensor, all of the switches and the charging outlet are on the bottom to keep rain from coming directly in and everything is covered by a rubber cover that snaps in place to further prevent water from seeping in. The receiver/speaker is labeled well and has bright lights that show which sensor alerted along with volume/power controls and a low battery light. The chimes are very different so even if you have four sensors you will be able to tell the difference. The receiver is powered by a wall charger that doubles as a charger for the sensor (not required though as the sun easily powers the sensor). We live in the woods and have lots of wildlife – some innocent and others that tear up our yard. We wanted the alarm to not only alert when someone has driven into our long driveway, but also so that we can be alerted when an animal is in the front yard. Every summer our flower beds get torn up by Armadillos and the deer eat all of our Hostas. I initially tested it in my backyard with my dog just to see if it will alarm when small animals cross its path. You will see in the picture where she crossed and I heard that she sounded the alarm. She is pretty short and it caught her even from an elevated position (on top of the retaining wall). I made a second video to depict this but I can only include 1 video in this review. In the video, the driveway alarm is on a pole on the left side of the driveway near the tall mailbox enclosure that you see in the distance. The sensor is so small that you really can’t see it unless you know what you are looking for. This video shows how it alarms when a vehicle left our house and crossed its path. We are very happy with the performance of the alarm and are thinking about adding more sensors to it. It performs much better than we thought it would and can certainly recommend it to others. Of note - the placement of the sensor is shaded 80% of the day but it has still worked without fail since we installed it.

What we did like was the Unit was very easy to set-up, the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. After we bought the AA batteries that was needed in case of a power outage we had the Unit in operation in less than 10 minutes. We used a rubber bungee cord to attach the Sensor to a tree in the driveway as we did not to put screws into the tree to injure the tree. We installed this Unit on September 24, 2019 and it has picked up cars, trucks, farm tractors, combine and full grown coyotes on the driveway. You can have four sensors installed to this Base Station if you wish (driveway, front walk/door, back walk/door, a different driveway to barns or cropfields. There is four different chimes on the Base Station and will alert you with the location there is movement coming in or going out of on your property. We were very concerned if dust and dirt at harvest time would block the solar charging glass from charging. We had two rains during the harvest time that kept the dust and dirt washed away so the solar charging glass kept charging OK as the Unit never stopped working. The Base Station is small, it can be placed on a lamp table or can be hung on the wall using a large head screw and then use attached hanger slot on the back of the Base Station. The Base Station is black and will go with any decor. The volume can be adjusted to where you can hear the chime from another room or the Base Station can be moved to the upstairs while you cleaning there. The Sensor shroud is made out of very heavy material and should survive any weather here in Ohio. The Solar Charging Glass might be a victim to very large hail stones that we have had in the past, we will have to see in the future hail storms if this glass gets broken. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SOLAR CHARGING DRIVEWAY UNIT to anyone who is considering buying a simular alert system. As you can read we are a SATISFIED CUSTOMER. Sincerely, Carolyn Hensley

From Manhattan to a small town in North Carolina I used to park in a parking lot, for a princely $350 a month. Now at our new home, with a 1/4 mile paved driveway; it's nice to know when someone has entered my property. So, I started to search for a driveway alarm. Many here were just too costly, I'm not a cheapskate but insist on value for my retirement dollars. I wanted to know, in advance when someone was coming to my front door; that was the immediate need. Expand-ability was also important as my new home has multiple approach routes. Options are many, initially and at a later date My starting setup is using Zone One, as I left the defaults as delivered. Adding more to Zone One via additional Sensor units is allowed. Or, additional Sensor units can be assigned to Zones 2, 3, and 4. Each Zone emits a different chime so it is not necessary to look at the indicator lights on the Base Station. Understanding "range" - or in other words - how far it works The detection range is 20 or 30 feet, plenty to notice a car or a person. The 1/4 mile is the communications maximum from the Sensor to the Base Station that "sounds the alarm", with the ability to adjust the volume. Mine is set about an 1/8 of a mile from the house, my trees are many, but the signal punches thru. Some Nifty features that I really like Of course the Sensors maintain their charge via sunlight or just daylight, but in the event that a Sensor is Not charged there is a low sensor warning light on the base station. The base station allows for installing 4 AA common batteries so the alarm system will become immune to a power failure (probably when crooks are most active). It's also nice to be able to take the base station (when on battery power) down to the garage when expecting a delivery. Most of the time the base station is powered using the supplied AC adapter and USB cable. Final Thoughts It's a home run on a price performance basis. Many others are far more expensive to do essentially the same thing, some even less - for more money. I also like that it's a "set it and forget it" system - once installed the kids will know when Santa is approaching. One sensor and one base station will not be enough for me. I plan to add more sensor units, utilizing the built in capability of the 4 zone base station. One correction to the manual, confirmed via their tech support - it IS permitted to have multiple sensors on the same zone. But, it is probably more useful to assign the first 4 sensors each to a different zone - to receive different alert tones from the various zones.

I ordered the driveway alarm with 2 sensors since I have a long driveway. One sensor was placed at the end of drive and the other about halfway with a different signal for each. The driveway alarm had instructions that were easy to follow which made installation very easy. It works great. Minor adjustments have been made since I didn't realize how much the neighbor's dogs encroached on our property so I had to adjust the sensor since they were setting it off. I would recommend this driveway alarm due to easy installation, price, and the range of the sensor.

Ive placed this in my chicked pen a little over a week and it is working great. I have it plugged into a usb power adapter, and it is transmitting to a reciever about 100 feet away, and through a couple of walls. I have it facing the only entrance to the chicken pen, and im actually surprised that the squirls are eating as much as my chickens! Ive surpried a couple of cats looking for mice, and yes Ive finally seen the racoons that have been killeing my chickens. If I would have purchessed this a year ago it would have paid for itself by saving 6 lost chickens. I DO NO LIKE the mans voice that says, your batterys are low. It scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it,. ALSO I dont like that when you chenge the volume there is a LOUD piercing beep that is VERY anoying. dispite these annoynces, I highly recommend this as a motion alarm that will reliably transmit quite a long distance. In fact im looking at another transmitter, and whish I would have bought the 2 pack.

The rang on these is amazing. I drove almost 1/2 a mile away and it was still picking up movement and alerting. Both units were on the batteries for that test. Should only be equal or better when I plug the base station into the wall power pack that came with it. Sherry with their customer service is amazing. Answered all my questions before I bought it. I called and didn't even leave a message and she called me back about 1 hour later just from my caller ID. Who does that. Most places you have to beg them to call you back and leave a number she is the opposite. She should be training international companies on customer service! Super impressed!!!! Truly can't say enough good things. I tried another competitors product that sells a long range and a short range unit and I only needed it for about 400' and they boast 500' guaranteed. Well it only worked about 2/3 of the way down the driveway and it's flat and straight looking right at the house. Could not have been any more direct line of site. Even put the base in my bedroom window and could see if from the end of my driveway. Still didn't work. That unit was $50 more too. Can't believe how great this was. Totally buy from these guys!!!!

I needed an alarm for my 1200 ft driveway and this one really is perfect. It alerts me to every car or person that comes up the drive and has never once given a false alarm. I ordered an additional receiver so now I'm able to hear the alerts when I'm out in the garage. Simple to set up and the solar panel seems to work great. I've yet to test out the solar battery charge at 3am so I'll check that out over the weekend and will edit my review if there's a problem. This driveway alarm gets a big thumbs up from me and Im pretty particular about things.

With it set on high I angled my sensor down enough so that it would only sense movement close to my front yard pine straw. A couple of nights ago it picked up a squirrel playing in my front yard, and last night it picked up my neighbor's cat preparing to exercise his bodily deposit in my pine straw. When I rushed to the door he reluctantly left to find a more suitable site. I will probably order another sensor unit for the back yard and adjust to cover a wider area. Thankfully, I won't continue wasting money on other products that are not worth price of the box they came in!
