Good Bamboo Knife Block

I needed a knife block that would accommodate my new 7 inch Chinese cleaver, and this does the trick with style. This is a well made bamboo knife block with inserts that are removable and dishwasher safe. The side compartment are great for kitchen shears, etc and are attached by strong magnets. It's an ingenious design and I like it a lot. It came well-packaged and damage free. I really like it and have no hesitation in recommending the product.

AMAZING QUALITY!!

This knife block is amazing quality! You can fit any knife set in there. The two blocks (utensil holders) on the side detach if you need them to, or you can leave them on. It is very durable too. This is a must have for every kitchen!!

I was suprized at its versatilty

My wife ordered this since the steak knives I ordered would not fit in or old one. She said, "..it is universal." I remarked, "...how in the world could it be universal?" Well...it is.lol It is an ingenious system that allows you to put knives in any order, angle or fashion you want. When they are not in place the filler (sort of like bristles) stay together and prevent crumbs, splatters or any other kitchen refuge from finding its way inside. You could store anything remotely like a knife in this block, like screwdrivers or similar shaped objects. You can rearrange items to you desired arrangement and turn them strait, sideways or even at an angle at will. If you get a new knife it will fit so you do not have to think about storage anymore. I am glad my wife bought this as I know have my favorite knives at hand all in one convenient location.

More than a knife block!

I purchased this as a replacement for a knife block that I've had for 12 years but which broke recently. I Like the two separate areas for knife storage as well as the non-knife utensil storage on the sides. They are attached with strong magnets which allows for flexibility in use. Looks like a great addition to my kitchen!

Sturdy, versatile, and good looking!

Similar but not the same.

I bought this as a gift because the recipients had commented on how will they liked mine. It appears to e exactly the same on the website but the plastic knife holder part is little different. It didn't take up the entire block area and the actual "straws" were skinnier. Having said that....the gift was well received and was an early Christmas present and already in use. So the small changes over the years did not disappoint the recipient.

Attractive and efficient

I needed a way to display my new cutlery set I received at Christmas. This works perfectly because it accommodates any size knife, with or without the knife cover. The additional removable sides allow me to have at hand a few other often-used utensils without rummaging through a drawer. As other reviewers have said, it does not fit underneath my overhead cupboards, but it works fine at any spot w/o overhead cupboards. Someone suggested they might fit if tilted fwd, which is what I would've done had I not found a convenient place in which they fit. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product!

fits any combination of anything

Like many people, our knife collection is a melange of cutlery ranging from the Wal-Mart special to hand-me-downs from the 1960s, all the way to Cutco, Victorinox, Chef, Premiere, and Shun. They all fit well, and we can easily grab any handle to use at any time, and we have PACKED this thing tight. Here's what's in the main storage area: 1 huge bread knife 2 large chef's knifes 2 medium chef's knives 2 utility knives 1 boning knife 2 paring knives 1 chef's fork This knife holder is a tall feller, and we have some low cabinets, so we put it to the side by the fridge and it's just great. It's meant to hold long knives, so of course it's going to be tall, that's why you're looking at it, right? Just measure your cabinets and make a plan on where you're going to put it and you'll be happy as can be. In the front container we have 7 steak knives. The "brush" that holds them isn't designed to hold them in a neat little chorus line, they're a little cockeyed and irregularly spaced. I think if I cared enough I could line them up, but I just want the storage. People who are fussy about their knives lining up perfectly might want to buy a block that has pre-cut slots (which of course reduces the storage capacity and eliminates size flexibility). Looks great, sturdy, easy to use. I love the magnetic round cups on the side. We haven't decided what to put in them yet, but that's a me problem. Strong magnets holds them tight - they are designed to be detachable in case you want the unit to be flexible where you put it - great design idea from the manufacturer.

Functional and Attractive

I spend a lot of money on good quality knives, but have not had enough knife slots on my old knife block to store all my knives. Plus, some of the pre-made slots were not fat enough or wide enough for all my blades. This knife block accepts all shapes and sizes of blades. Plus I love the side cups which attach to the main block by magnet. You can use both or neither. I like the side cups for the Kitchen scissors, one side for the meat scissor, one side for an herb scissor. I am very please with the product.

Love it!

Was very happy when I got this! I love that I can put any knife in here. My previous block was only able to take the knives that were part of that particular set. I used to store my mismatched knives in a drawer. With a very adventurous toddler, the thought of her figuring out how to open that drawer always scared me. I'm happy I can now keep all the sharp things away from her. The side storage is very convenient, I'm using it to store my pizza cutters and a few other random cutting things. One thing I was a bit disappointed with is that if you put a bit too much, or some heavier things in it ( I put two hand held cheese graters) that the magnets would fail to keep the container attached to the side of the block. It's not a major pain point though and it's still functional. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase and am excited that it looks very easy to clean as well. :)
