So far so good

Installed this plug yesterday and so far so good. Seems like good quality, made in the USA, feels heavy and solid with a strong magnetic core. My first time using this type of plug so time will tell. Will update this review on the next oil change.

Fits 2020 5.7 Ram

This is well made in the USA. I read reviews for a lot of these. Many were cheaply made from aluminum and break. This thing is solid. The magnet is super strong like many said. It will pull it sideways so hard you may think it doesn’t fit. Take your time, be careful not to cross thread. Having such a new vehicle it was fantastic they answered my question about fit here so fast. I ordered an extra pack of crush washers. “Required for your second use. Comes with one” Something I discovered on my own if you are in the new truck no information stage like I was. The Mopar 04892339 oil filter fits our trucks. It’s the same one my 2017 used. With those items you’ll be set for your oil change in a 2020 5.7 Ram.

Much more passionate about my drain plugs now!

It's not a part most people are too into, seemed a little pricey for just a drain plug, but not crazy. I got a couple, one for my two Monteros. Super impressed with the quality and stoutness of these! Like the large bolt head size, the magnet is super strong, even the crush washer was really nice. Perfect fit for me, but like another mentioned, was actually a bit of a struggle to get it into the oil pan hole, as the magnet was strong enough to divert the bolt away from the hole, which was impressive! As long as it lasts, great buy! I had been wanting to get magnetic drain plugs for these vehicles and these ones came recommended, really glad they were as I was looking at cheaper options and probably would not have gotten these otherwise!

Sturdy

Fit great on my Mazda 3 '14. Nice sturdy plug, it feels heavy and looks like it will last. Like other reviewers, I did have some trouble installing this plug because the strong magnet wanted to attach to every other part of the oil pan but in the hole, lol. Using a bit more muscle strength I managed to get it centered and then it almost screwed itself in - the pull was so strong. I bought this marked "Used, Like New - Small Magnet Defect" but after close examination I can't see any flaws. It replaced an old plug on my (new to me) used car. It had developed an oil leak and I was worried until I realized it was only coming from the old drain plug. With the new one, there hasn't been a single drip of oil, so I'm very pleased at this easy fix!

King of the oil drain plugs!

Love it! (At least as much as anyone can "love" an oil drain plug. LOL) Very well made. Very solid, machined steel part. I'm not certain how much help the magnet will be but nothing is too good for my baby! (2019 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack)

Great plug - fits R53 MINI perfectly

Got sick of replacing those disposable junk drain plugs on my R53 every oil change, also want a magnet in the plug (always a good idea to have in a car) A little pricey, but this plus a pack of crush washers is gonna last years and years and years. Fitment on my car (a 2003 Mini cooper S JCW, but it will fit any first generation MINI) was just fine, no issues or clearance problems.

Great alternative to OEM hardware

This is a quality drain plug. Installed it on a 2004 Honda Civic EX 1.7L with 300k. The next oil change will be very interesting. Only regret is that I should have installed this sooner. Plan on buying more for the other cars we own when their next oil changes come due. Knocked off a star because one of the threads had a small knick in it. Didn't affect anything from what I could tell but at this price, I was expecting perfection.

The factory plug was stripped, had to remove it with a pipe wrench!! This fit perfect and I got back on The road 🙌

Make sure it is the correct size!

Update - Jan 15, 2021 - After extensive conversations with Zach (the manufacturer), we were able to ascertain that the thread size on a very small production run was slightly off. The correctly machined part arrived today and screws into place as smooth as butter! I wanted to update my original review to share the absolute dedication and commitment that Zach showed in identifying and correcting the issue! The experience has renewed my faith in the honor of my fellow man and I wanted to share this new information ASAP. Thanks Zach!!!!!!!! I order a plug in size M14-1.5 and it arrived correctly labeled in the plastic bag. However, it would not screw into the Jeep oil pan drain hole. I thought I might be losing my mind so I went to the hardware store with the OEM drain plug and verified it was M14-1.5 by finding a matching nut. However, the Votex part would not screw into the same nut...it required a slightly larger nut. Conclusion - the wrong size Votex part found its way into the wrong bag at the factory. If you order, make sure your part threads EASILY into the Jeep oil pan and tighten to 20 ft/lbs (or whatever your manual says). If it does screw in easily with your fingers, it is not the correct size. I have re-ordered as the part itself is very well mage...just the wrong size.

very quality plug

I am a delivery driver and drive 2500 miles a week so have to change my oil every two weeks. I have done about ten changes with this plug and have cleaned out a good bit of metal shavings with the magnetic end. the hex head still looks new and is not stripping like the original factory plug did. 450k miles on a 2017 Pacifica van with original engine!
