I'm so glad I did this repair myself!
The mechanic wanted something like $125 for the install and $125 for the part. It was SO easy to replace this actuator on my ford escape. There are videos on youtube if you need help. So for basically my repair was 10% of what the mechanic would have done and it took me 5 minutes to do the repair. You will need a star screwdriver to do the repair, and it took me a while to track one down but luckily a friend had a set. After I got the right size screw driver it took about 5 minutes to remove the pannel and the old part and replace it with this one. I wish I had done it sooner as we spent 4 months not able to open the back of our Ford Escape. It now works as new again with this part.

Works great!
Fitment is top notch and easy to align thanks to the OEM design having very little slack. Also the actuator seems MUCH stronger than the original, and is much louder, which is a plus in my eyes. The original latch on the Escape/Mariner/Tribute fails often because the rubber seal on the opening rear window glass isn't as tight as it should be, letting water in and eventually causing the actuator to fail. This part installs using the original hardware within just a few minutes.

Find a good video for removing door panel and opening door.
First, the install is very straightforward once you get the panel off the rear hatch. It isn't too bad to get the panel off once you see how to go at it. Look for a YouTube video. It'll help you get the door open too. The fasteners pop out readily. I used a carpenter's pry bar to get in close to them. Then you open the door ro remove the last few screws at the bottom ro fully remove the panel. Then replace the latch. I've been using it a few weeks now and works great! Much less expensive than dealer.

What a money saver
Back hatch in my 2011 Escape stopped latching. Was offered either a 115.00 replacement (just for the part) or go to a junk yard. This took maybe 15 minutes to install from start to finish. Working perfectly. Just like the day I bought it. No drain on the car battery. No issues with any sensors. Would definitely recommend this option.

Fits 2010 Ford Escape perfectly!
I know NOTHING about cars. Thank goodness for google and YouTube, because even I was able to diagnose the problem (Lift Faye not lifting) and order order the right part to fix it. This was that part. Fast shipping and the guarantee is a bonus!

Replacement part fit perfect.
For the money you can't beat it. The Dealer wanted $250 to fix it and the part cost me about $15 dollars. Took me all of 30 minutes to install. Works great and my Wife is happy. Happy Wife, Happy life.

Perfect fit, works great.
My rear hatch door lock would work sometimes and sometimes not. This fixed the issue, perfect fit and identical to oem replacement. Cant beat the price.

Great price. Works great
Replaced a broken latch in a 2011 Ford Escape. Only took a few minutes to install. Instructions all over YouTube. Saved a lot over going to the dealership.
