I bought a box recently and split them with my son who resides in his apartment. These Hefty bags are tough and close easily and well. My son likes them because he freezes small portions. Last week he used them to store several bottles of liquids (shampoo, liquid soap, mouthwash), along with hand gel and toothpaste, for carry on for a trip by plane. He had the products pushing against the sides and top, but the bag held. He carried a few extra freezer bags just in case, but did not need them. Can't say enough about these strong freezer bags!

Multi tasking

I have limited cabinet space so elect to have only freezer bags on hand since I use them for that as much or more than regular storage. I have no patience for bags without a 'zipper' and my experience has indicated that this brand does better than others. If you can smell the garlic through the bag, it's obviously not doing the best job so I ditched all but this brand which is the most reliable (no smell and keeps frozen things good longer). I first got the stand up version by accident in the grocery but found I liked them better since they hold a bit more and make filling easier. I have a stand for holding a bag while it's being filled but it's hard to adjust so I leave it on the gallon bag setting. The fact that I can fill these bags without that helper is extra nice. They may be a bit more expensive (although I haven't done a price comparison with other bags) but it's worth it to me to have a quart sized one-bag-does-all at the ready for my varied needs. I even have a FoodSaver, but sometimes it's just easier to freeze something in these if I know I'll be using it sooner rather than later.

Good

Like the fold out flat bottom and a sturdy locking slide. They do live up to the chill factor hype. Also appear to be thicker than the larger regular gallon size bags.

It doesn't leak

Zip lock bags works great and it's a good size too. The plastic feels durable and the slider makes closing and opening a cinch. The liquid stored in these bags don't seep out.

They are plastic bags

You probably have bought these before. We'll keep buying them until the world is covered in plastic. That is the downside of having to use these, but I have to carry the bag a long way to the trash bin, and don't want one to break open.
