Regional Planning with a compellingy human face and partying all the way through
The author captures in the pace of her writing and researches the passion , commitment, and vision of this remarkable early regional planner. ( you have spelt the name wrong above...it is Madocks). Its a remarkable story of human endeavour and imagination, equally full of tragedy. Madocks's end is highly ironic given all that he achieved. There is now finally, more than two centuries late, a large commemorative wooden sculpture to Madocks at the entrance to Porthmadog and his infamous cob. Sadly they missed the opportunity to equally celebrate the life of his agent who actually made it all happen on the ground for him. In the light of climate change and likely sea level rises this 19c tale about the controlling of natural forces ( keeping the sea out and as a result creating 3000 acres of farmland) suggest we may need to be equally imaginative and far sighted in possibly allowing the whole estuary to flood again for bio diversity's sake and the saving of the town....

Great product at a great price
These are really nice yoga towels. They fit a regular sized yoga mat perfectly and don't slide on the mat, even during hot yoga. They work just as well as the towels my yoga studio sells for over $50!! 2 for $19 is a steal. They wash and dry well and are a nice weight and texture. The colors are very vibrant (I got blue and pink). Good quality. HIghly recommend.

Songs of the 40's, 50's 60's in playable arrangements
Most of Abril's arrangements are very pretty and easy enough for an intermediate player to learn. Some, however, are advanced. One particular version -- Ponce's "Estrellita" is exquisite and quite popular with professional performers. Other good arrangements: Brel's "Autumn Leaves," "Silver Bells," and "Tenderly." This is a replacement copy for me, as the book I has purchased back in the '70's fell apart long ago. The plastic ribbed binding eventually failed after many hours of hard use.

Useful light for camping or to keep in your car
I have a number of LED lights that are useful for certain activities or to do certain things. The Coast lights that I have purchased in the past are durable and reliable. This kit is very handy to keep in your car. The white light is useful as an area light, with the reflector rod attached, while traveling so that your passengers can look at maps, mapquest directions, or read something. You can use it as an area light if you need to change a tire or look under the hood. You can also use it a normal flashlight. The red light, with the reflector rod attached, can be used for emergencies when you are on the side of the road for signaling or as a warning light that you are on the side of the road. I like to hike and camp. The white light is very useful at night with and without the reflector rod. While in your tent, you can attach the reflector rod to use it as an area light. The lights are very durable and reliable. Plus, they are very bright. This light kit is great and extremely useful.

Very Tough & Sturdy
I bought this item for my cousin for Christmas and he loves it. I thought it came with 2, a red & a purple one but it didn't. I was really surprised at how tough and sturdy it felt because I imagined it thin and easy to smash like a cigarette pack but they are not. They are really cool. I would buy more, wish they had more designs. I didn't know those boxes were made that good. I might get me one to stash something in or use as my cigarette holder. Yeah I know that is bad but I smoke and it is awful and it was the worse thing I ever did. Thanks, XOXOEWCMP

little expensive but good product!
The spoiler on the car we recently bought for my wife had been painted black by the previous owner. I removed it from the car - sanded it - primed it - wetsanded it - and painted it with the color match lacquer and clearcoat that I had purchased. The color match was excellent. This is a red metallic/pearl paint and red shades are probably the hardest to match because of the amount of pigment needed to produce the color. I did end up with some slight "orange peel" in the clear coat finish but that should buff out with compound once the paint is fully cured. Although expensive, the product was worth the money - a body shop would have charged me a lot more to repaint her spoiler. Plus, she's thrilled! That's good for me - now I can work on the boat....

Within Reason Debut - Cycle a Smile
I agree with EVERYTHING said in this review!!! If you can't find this elusive CD anymore PLEASE TREAT YOURSELF and purchase the 5 song CD AFTER THE CRAWL. I swear I didn't take this out of my deck for weeks either! I had to MAKE myself take it out, realizing that I couldn't just keep listening to the 5 same songs over and over for the rest of my life!!!! They are from Birmingham, AL, but I have seen them on tour in Dallas on the side stage and I have been a fan ever since. I also see that they are catching a lot of shows in the Ft. Walton Beach/Destin, FL area - so GO SEE THEM!!! Just waiting for another show I can catch within driving distance to Shreveport, LA!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you like Rock 'n Roll and haven't yet listened to the band Within Reason, you are missing it, all they need is exposure. From Birmingham, AL, go catch a show, find them on Facebook. They are very diverse, influences include Linkin' Park, Nine Inch Nails, all the way to a little AC/DC and MORE. Not afraid to add depth to their music with technology, which I know from personal experience they take with them on the road, even if they are playing on a small stage. Favorite off of this album is being able to have the original version of Favorite Sin, also on their second CD: Bloodshot Life - with hits such as Don't Walk Away, Gotta Let it Die, No Secret, and the title track. If nothing else, treat yourself to their new EP: After the Crawl:, a 5 song CD that you will put on repeat, I swear, I didn't take it out of the deck for weeks.

The Mothers, Briffault, Purchase
The unabridged edition is the only real way to read Briffault's "The Mothers"--essential reading for anyone who hopes to understand anthropology. Briffault clearly states in his preface that he faced a lot of opposition to his views on human origins, so much so that it got him barred from moving to the United States on the eve of his death in the late 1940s. Briffault set out to throughly explain and argue that the origin of human sentiments and institutions is in a long, savage past that was marked by a matriarchy, thus "the mothers," a period of primitive communism, in which women were preeminent. It was altered during a shorter, but still very long, period of barbarism, marked by the invention of agriculture and animal breeding and herding. Only generally in the past few thousand years was it overthrown by patriarchal rule in the present period of civilization. Only traces of the matriarchy remain in the present cultures of the world today, but what does remain reminds us of the earlier period. Briffault helped to advance anthropology after its 19th century beginnings in Darwin, Morgan, Tylor, Marx, and Engels were set back by a course of non-evolutionary research and publication that continues today, dividing the discipline largely in favor of the latter, non-evolutionary side. Like his revolutionary predecessors Briffault assembled evidence from around the world, presenting it accurately and thoroughly, and acknowledging its authors with copious footnotes, and an amazing, approximately 200 page, bibliography, which is recorded in the third volume and continues to have value today. Originally published in the late 1920s, the set of three volumes was reprinted in the early 1950s, but is very scarce now. Evelyn Reed, starting largely from Engels', The Origin of the Family, Private Property, and the State authored Woman's Evolution from Matriarchal Clan to Patriarchal Family, which was published in the early 1970s, during the second rise of feminism in the last century. It has many references from Briffault's work, adding to its arguments, and in one instance I can recall where she thinks him incorrect offers an alternative viewpoint.
