• Genuine RKX Intake Valve Walnut Blaster Cleaning Adapter Compatible with most VW & Audi TFSI vehicles
  • The RKX walnut cleaning adapter is designed to aid in the removal of carbon buildup on TFSI intake valves. The design allows the use of a walnut blaster with little to no mess just attach a vacuum to the other port. The RKX walnut cleaning adapter is injection molded from ultra durable glass filled nylon.
  • The TFSI engines are notorious for carbon buildup. This buildup robs your engine of power and efficiency as it reduces airflow to the cylinder.
  • Manual carbon cleaning is time consuming and near impossible to remove all carbon buildup. Walnut blasting drastically speeds up the process and will leave you with a cleaner valves!
  • Compatibility: FSI, TFSI, TSI gasoline engines 2.0T 2005 - 2016 4.2L 2006 - 2014 5.2L 2008 - 2011 3.0T 2010 - 2017

Adapter worked extremely well and kept the mess to the very bare minimum. This is not a beginner level job, do some research and don't be in a rush. It's not terribly difficult to remove the intake, but there are a lot of wires to disconnect. They temp sensor wire hidden underneath with the two small wires are easy to rip out. (Don't ask me how I know) There's a support bracket under the throttle body that is a pain. Small hands help. You'll need torx bits, triple square, 17mm wrench, 10mm deep socket, big socket and ratchet (to turn engine over) at a minimum along with the shop vac and 1" adapter for the hose to attach to this piece. Don't forget to order the injector seal kit including the Teflon gaskets that seal the injectors to the block. I had to use a hose feed gun because there was no way to get a good angle with a hopper feed gun. Best results were had by filling the intake port with non-flammable brake cleaner then letting it soak for about 10 or 15 minutes. Vacuum that out, then go at it with the walnut shells.

This worked perfectly. It actually "snapped" in, it was such a perfect fit, and made an excellent seal (2014 VW CC 2.0). While the snap won't hold it there unattended while you are blasting, it confirms a nice seal, and you just hold it in place with one hand, while working your blast gun with the other. All in all, maybe a teaspoon of media got away from the vacuum, and fell down along the machined ridge just below the intakes. The whole process was made easier by this adaptor, which can be expected when you have the right gear. I've seen others use a jury rig setup, with towels and hand cut pieces of cardboard and plastic. And all that just doesn't makes sense if you can get your hands on one of these. As blasting the carbon is a regular maintenance, recommended every 30k miles, you may as well own this IMO. I posted a before and after of blasting just for the heck of it. Uncertain if this will work on my 1.8 Jetta head as well, as the port may be a different size.

Worked great on my Audi Q7 4.2, thanks to the walnut blaster 👌

First off I must say that this made the job so simple. From the research i did , I decided to go with the rkx version adapter and I'm glad I did. The intake port is symmetrical so the adapter can be flipped to target both valves when blasting. Great job RKX , its a must have for the capable DIY'er .

This fit perfect. Excellent design and actually snaps into the head which keeps it stable while blasting the valves. Very durable too. I used this on my 2012 audi Q5 3.2

This tool worked great for walnut blasting my Audi 3.0 engine. No mess to clean up after. Very effective.

It's a quality piece. Smooth edges and a good heft to it. However, I took a chance and purchased it to clean the valves on the cylinder head of my VW 1.9 TDI but it doesn't fit in the plenum.

I work at a Vw dealership and every tech that has tried this for doing De-carb procedures is sold. We absolutely love this. If you own a shop or are a Vw, Audi tech, this is a must have in you’re toolbox. Highly recommend!!!

This fits well, however not sure about durability. I think it will only work a few times. Will update after further use.

For price you sure can't beat it.
