Works great for what it is. Helped me remove my balancer in no time on an LS engine.
I ordered this for an LS3 I am building and for an L99 I blew up, to remove the balancer. This made it very easy to remove the balancer from the L99. This was the cheapest one I could find that would ship to me the quickest, so it worked out well. The welds look good on it and I have no worries about any premature failure or it's ability to take the forces required to remove a pulley. Only complaint I have is that it ships with fairly low grade 4 bolts. I used them though, and they held up. It bolts right into the starter mount holes. Just make certain to have it fully bolted in so you don't snap off the ear or a bolt. But if you are really worried, Home Depot sells grade 8 bolts or you can order some grade 10 automotive bolts to your liking. Just use it as designed and you will be fine.

Worked perfectly, so much better than other alternatives
In the past I have used a pry bar or long screwdriver in the flex plate or on the bolts (easier on a race trans with an access hole) or a strap wrench or a ratchet strap or someone with a socket on the balancer bolt or on a torque converter/flywheel/flexplate bolt to keep the motor from turning. I won't mention cramming something in the belt but in a pinch anything that works without too much damage right? So when you have an LS with the ARP balancer bolt and need to get 235 lb/ft of torque on it and don't have someone else to keep things from spinning this is a real time saver. Sure with headers and heat shielding and SFI bellhousings the starter can be a pain to get out but this was real easy to install and the lower grade bolts are not an issue, no need to really crank them down just snug and it worked perfect. The welds were way better than expected and the teeth on the tool fit perfect in the flexplate and are plenty wide. The holes are oversized and allows plenty of adjustment and it fit with no fuss and didn't budge during torquing. It looks to be powder coated so it should have a long life. Easy in, easy out, no flex, works absolutely perfect, definitely happy with the purchase.

perfect tool for my 2008 silverado 1500
this fit and worked exactly as advertised. recommend to anyone that doesn't have a body to help hold the flywheel in place.

Held up while torquing balancer to 240 ft lbs
Held the flywheel while I torqued the harmonic balancer bolt to 240 FtLbs. This can be installed while the transmission is still in place. It bolts where the starter bolts.

It works
Works well. Helps get balancer bolt out with engine still in truck. Can be used to install balancer bolt also. Also good for removing flywheel bolts when engine is out if you don't have access to impact tools.

Right tool for the job.
Tool worked great and was easy to install on my 5.3. Had to replace oil pump on truck and it made removing and installing balancer bolt a breeze. Just drop the starter and install this in it’s place. Locks the engine so it won’t rotate. Lots of torque required to remove and install balancer bolt this allows you to do it right.

Must have tool
Easy to install and a life saver changing out oil pump on a 5.3 ls. Cant imagine trying to remove and install the harmonic pulley with out it.

Worked great
Worked great. Friend that was helping me install the engine was looking for a pry bar to old the flywheel until I put this on.

If you do any ls work its A must for your toolbox. 05' lm7

You need this. Don't be cheap. Try torquing a harmonic balance bolt without it. You can't.
