It could be a little bit heavier but it did the job

I have used this to replace the bearings on my 2009 Escape. It worked eventually... after about 35+ banging. I am not weak, but ... You better be strong to use that tool. I called a friend, younger and stronger, and he managed to get the hub out in 9 shots as hard as he could. So .... it is feasible. But it is not as quickly as with a 10lbs one. Like other reviews, the handlebar became loose after 2-3 bangings, which is not a big deal, the tool is still usable. For maximum efficiency, to transfer all the force to pull the hub, make sure that the 3+1 bolts are tight, pull on the handlebar as you slide the mass with all your strength, and eventually, you will get the hub out. I trust that this can be used on many other vehicles. The overall quality is good enough for a DIYer like me. Best of luck.

This slide hammer is such a versatile tool. My husband uses this for all sorts of automotive work that he does. I just saw him use it this past weekend pull an axle out of a transmission. Took a couple swift pulls of the hammer, but it came right out. The machining on the tool looks to be of great quality. It comes with all the hardware to use the internal and external two/three haw pullers. The case is sufficient for holding the tools, but could be a bit more sturdy. Other than the case, this is a fantastic slide hammer for the price!

easy to use

my golf cart came to a grinding halt. the rear bearing housing imploded. used the tools to pull the axle and reinstall the new bearing set. you could probably make your own set, but by the time you were done, you would have spent more on the parts alone, plus this comes with a case!

Good tool

The slide hammer arrived on time. A box in a box. Opening it the case clips that hold the case closed where broken off . The slide hammer was all in tack and worked as intended. They can make there case a little better but I would recommend it great deal for the money

Great Value

Other reviewers complained about broken clasps on the case or the slide handle not being polished. My case arrived with no problems, and the slide hammer is polished. It mounted to my 2012 Wrangler with no problem. It only took 3 pulls to remove the stuck axle shaft that I had been prying and pulling on for hours before I finally broke down and bought this. I should have bought this to begin with.
