I will come back and update this review after we’ve owned this for a few weeks, these are just my initial thoughts. This is the third kid’s light up alarm clock we’ve owned so I feel like I know the market! Our fifth child will be here in two weeks (so we’re already anticipating losing sleep) and we’ve got one child in particular that cannot seem to sleep past sunrise and has a hard time staying quiet in the mornings so everyone else can sleep. We’ve previously owned the OK To Wake clock which worked well for her - but ultimately it was a waste of money because it stopped working after about 2 months. By that time she was in a decent sleeping pattern but we soon had another child who was waking up way too early. Because of our experience with the OK To Wake I bought the Mella. It had awesome reviews, and it has earned them! We love it, it’s awesome. It has solved child #3’s sleeping issues. The problem - it’s $50! If you only have one child I’d say it’s worth that amount of money, but when child #2 started having sleeping issues again I didn’t think I could talk my husband into getting another $50 alarm clock for our 6 yo 😬 so I began the hunt for a better priced alternative. This is how I found the Learn and Climb clock. Since there were no reviews I looked at their website to make sure they were a legit company before I took the plunge. And now I’m here to offer my review on this new clock on the “please Lord keep my kids in bed” market. ;) Observations so far: -I love the design! It’s very sleek and cute with a soft touch white button on top. It feels very sturdy and well made. -It was really easy to set up! The quick set up guide walked me through the process and I had it set up in about 5 minutes. -I personally love that you can put batteries in to make it portable or you can plug it in. I don’t like having to worry about batteries dying so a plug is a plus for me. -It comes with everything you need to set up. One of our previous clocks came with the usb cord only and we had to purchase an adapter separately -There is a sleep (get in bed!) setting and a wake setting with an optional “soon” setting that tells your child it’s almost time to get up. Red, green, yellow lights respectively. - a lock feature that I think will actually be hard for a small child to figure out. On our other clocks all the kids had to do was change the clock from locked to unlocked by a switch on the bottom of the clock, which they figured out immediately. On this clock you have to hold the lock button in for 7 seconds to switch settings. I don’t think (fingers crossed) they’ll figure that out without help! - I was really impressed with the amount of help this clock comes with. Reward charts that last 6 weeks, a cute book to read to your child to introduce them to the clock, a quick start guide, an in depth user manual, and a pamphlet with tips to help your child sleep. These creators understand that by the time parents are buying one of these clocks, they’re desperate for sleep. Upon first impressions, I’m very impressed! My daughter had been waiting for her “star clock” for several days (it took Amazon 6 days to get it to us) and she could not have been more excited to see it. It’s working well so far and she feels so special now that she has her own clock like her sister. She responds well to reward charts so that was an added bonus I wasn’t expecting but I’m very grateful for. If this little clock holds up we will be buying for our other little kids when they’re able to get up and out of bed on their own! I will update this review in a month or two. Happy sleeping 😴

This is awesome!! My son came out when it was red w a big smile on his face and I said ur not allowed to come out till its greeen!!! He ran so fast back to bed n was so excited to come out when it turned green! Now let me tell y'all something, my son DOES NOT LISTEN !!!! Everything is NOOOO! I WAS BEYOND SHOCKED!! so happy my friend introduced to this product. Also I might add that I'm slow when following instructions but the instructions were really so clear! I didn't have to call someone to help me👏👏👏

Life saver in letting my wife actually get a full sleep. Lots of options like using just the sound or just the light. Great product and just what we needed. Also kids love stars. They just do.

This is amazing! My kids love the light changing colors. Seriously, it’s working!!!! Good quality, too. Worth the $25.

Works great! Bought this to replace our old Mirari Okay to wake clock, so my daughter was already familiar with the concept, but this ticked all the boxes! It was so hard to find one that would turn on a light, no alarm, at a certain time, and stay on for more than 20 minutes. We love it, plus it's adorable. Wish the light could be set to stay on for more than one hour, but after all the shopping around I did, I'll take what I can get.

This clock is great. I also have the more expensive hippo one, and this one is better. It’s simple, and super cute for my kid’s room. I like the options on it. The light on at night to show its time to sleep is great for my 2.5+year old. Plus it’s just really cute! Great product, especially for the price!!

This has been great for my twin toddlers. They like having it as a nightlight and learned quick that they can’t get going until it turns green. There are multiple brightness which is nice and it was easy to set up. Very pleased.

It is a great concept for a kid to learn to go to bed when it turns a certain color. It also came with a lot of extras:)

We’ve been using this for a month and our sleep quality in this house has dramatically improved! It took some adjusting... Nights 1-2: We discuses the clock, the chart (stickers not provided but we had some already), and read the book several times. We left the room when the light turned red. Three year old son was super excited and only woke briefly, went back to sleep and stayed in bed through the yellow light and until green. Nights 3-4: Nighttime sleep was pretty good, just a couple of wake ups, but when the clock turned yellow and son was ready to be up but had to stay in bed, he got frustrated and threw things, including the clock. Nights 5-8: Turned off the yellow light feature, pushed bedtime back by 15 minutes and wake up 15 minutes earlier. We stayed in room with son while he fell asleep. Some days he seemed short on sleep, but nighttime was going better. Night 9: Son didn’t want to lay down when clock turned red. So we returned to our previous nighttime routine of giving two choices: 1. Stay in bedroom as long as son laid his head down on his pillow and was quiet, or 2. Son could stay up reading on his own as long as he liked and when he was ready for me to come back in his room he needs to turn off reading light, lay down and close eyes for 3 minutes (at which point he often falls asleep on his own...devious yet effective!) Nights 10-present: Set bedtime back to original time, but left earlier wake up time. Most nights son wakes up once or twice, but more often than before he’ll sleep through the night. When he does wake, sometimes he’ll go right back to sleep and sometimes he’ll need a little more attention. This is still a dramatic improvement from our son crawling into and taking over our bed every single night starting sometime between 10 pm and 2 am! Tips: hyping up the clock, talking through the book and expectations, remaining flexible for little adjustments (like tweaking the clock times or turning the yellow light on/off), stickers that your kiddo is excited about (my son LOVES kitten stickers) and sprinkling in prizes (every 5-7 nights of minimal nighttime disruption our son gets a small prize). Product improvement suggestions: I wish the yellow light could have its time set independently. I’d use it for my son’s pre-sleep reading time. The book is helpful, but I couldn’t help but notice the gender roles (very traditional—nurses haven’t worn that uniform since the 90’s! At least the doctor is a person of color...) Summary: This product is well made, adorable, easy to use, easy to lock, effective and priced just right. I’m so glad I didn’t buy the $50 one I was considering...glad I waited and this gem came out!!
