ALEXA on the Galaxy Active 2 ?? YES you Can!!
This new Galaxy Active 2 watch does it all!! I’m not a fitness fanatic, so I will not comment on the accuracy of the calorie count or heart rate monitor. I'm happy to know my daily steps taken, be reminded to move when I've been sitting too long at my computer, know my ticker is still tick’n, and receive kudos when I've reached my daily goal. First of all this is a stunning piece of technology, very sleek, and looks great on any wrist. I replaced the pale pink silicone band with a slim black leather one so it looks very sharp and professional. The Pink Gold color keeps the watch looking slim, not bulky (although the Aqua Black was intriguing), and blends well with most skin tones. I chose the 44mm for better battery life - yes, I get 3 days between charges. I also like the larger screen for easier interaction with the touch screen, which by the way is very clear, bright and easy to see even in sunlight! LOVE LOVE LOVE, that I can receive and respond to texts and calls. I have found that the 30 foot maximum distance to my phone requirement is actually conservative, my phone has been further away from me than that and I still receive texts and calls. I work in a showroom where I cannot have my phone with me; I can now react immediately when I'm contacted. For texting, I can use voice to text and even edit my response after I have spoken it using my voice again or hand writing on the screen. There are endless emojis I can reply with and I can send and receive texted images. I can ANSWER THE WATCH, if my phone rings. There is a mic and a speaker on the Active 2, and the voice clarity is perfect. I can also reject a call right from my watch and send a text back instead, like letting the caller know that I'll call them back in a bit. The Galaxy Active 2 also gives you detailed quality of sleep feedback. It does a great job breaking down time spent in REM vs the other sleep phases. And with the ability to fully charge in about 2 hours, every 3 days, you can absolutely wear the watch to bed every night to benefit from that useful information. The watch is completely customize-able. You can choose what notifications you want to receive on your watch and how (vibration, sound, or both). With the Do Not Disturb feature, you can also schedule hours at night that you won’t receive any notifications at all. You can arrange the widgets in any order, add and subtract Apps, and navigate by scrolling between them or use the digital haptic bezel. The digital bezel adds a bit of class to the watch and works flawlessly. It's responsive and brings back that rotating functionality that the first Galaxy Active lacked. I have uninstalled the Apps I did not find useful to conserve battery life and added a couple, including Alexa. YES, ALEXA!! I added the Alexa App, called "Talk to Alexa" In the companion "Galaxy Wearable" App. You can find it in the App section: Discover>Top Watch Apps>Categories>Lifestyle>Top Paid. I can ask Alexa to answer questions, things that I would typically Google on my phone, in addition to finding out the weather, set timers, and control my smart home, RIGHT FROM MY WRIST! I have tested various requests using my Active 2 vs asking Alexa in my home. The responses were identical. The first photo below is of Alexa ready to listen, and you can program her to launch when you double tap the Home button. This is an amazing Smart Watch, get it, you won't be sorry. Now complete with Alexa, this is a perfect alternative to an Apple Smart Watch if you are an Android/Samsung phone user... I have been using it since the day of its release and it is a fun watch to use and a wonderful companion. Click below if you found my review helpful. I purchased this watch at full price and was not compensated for my review…

Finally, a full-fledged smartwatch worth buying.
The Galaxy Watch Active2, is one of the best purchases that I've ever made in wearable technology. It delivers with more than adequate battery life, far superior comfort when compared to other products, a feature set that will appease most so-called "Geeks" such as myself, and the availability to add more features and/or applications via the Galaxy app store. The new customizable watch face feature makes the creation of customizable watch faces easy and simple. With just a snap of your clothing, and multiple watch faces are created for you that match your outfit. I also appreciate the much slimmer and sleeker design, when compared to the regular Galaxy Watch. With that, I can confidently say that (at least in my opinion) the Watch Active2 is the most fashionable, functional and flexible. (The Three Fs, as I call it.) It is fashionable, due to its sleek glass, (in my case) aluminum housing, and unobtrusive thickness that is no thicker (if not, thinner) than your average premium analog watch. It is functional, due to the fact that you have all the basic necessities that any digital watch should have PLUS, step tracking, workout tracking, heart rate monitoring, upcoming electrocardiogram capability, text messaging, the ability to accept, decline, and create phone calls, pay for things using Samsung pay, find your phone, the creation and cancellation of alarms and reminders, the ability to check the weather, and have music playback controls (also including track selection), just to name a few. (And I don't think I really need to explain why I think it's so flexible). 😉 And just to mention other things I love about the Watch Active2, I love the touch bezel (which is much better than you think it is), I love the SAMOLED display that by default automatically dims to fit the environment that it's in along with providing smooth animations, I love the now larger back button so you can tell that it's different if you're in the dark, I love the ability to triple click the apps/home button to send a message to your emergency contact(s), and so much more. Now here's the part where I would usually explain the cons of the watch/device. But there was an issue, I struggled to come up with any. I would usually have a very long laundry list of cons, but I really don't have any. The only part I can say is a con, is that some people aren't satisfied with the accuracy of the health tracking features. Maybe it's just me, but I really haven't had any. The lack of feminine health tracking might be a con to some women, but I'm not female, so... That doesn't apply to me... That's all I can really say. So in the end, if you are currently looking for a smartwatch to go with your Android device, then I say you should absolutely go with this one. It has many a feature that the competition do not supply, has great battery life, a digital rotating bezel that is the best way to interact with it, a decent amount of customization, and health tracking that I believe to be accurate. (Disclaimer: I am not a health professional by any means, and therefore I am not the first person you should listen to when it comes to advice about health tracking). So, I say it is a very worthy purchase. And I am enjoying my time with it. (Leather watch band pictured: Fullife hybrid Coffee Suede Leather watch band) (Screen protector pictured: LK [6-Pack] TPU)

Great Watch to keep an eye on the heart.
I have the 44mm BT version. This is my first smart watch and so far I like it a lot. It's very comfortable on my wrist. I tried out the sleep function and it was comfortable to sleep with. It interesting to see how much actual R.E.M. I'm really getting. There were a couple of small updates out the box that were available to address the GPS accuracy and a newer version of Tizen. I tested the GPS with another phone and a 3 mile run was just as accurate as the phone. For some reason the weather app on the watch couldn't find my location. After some digging on the internet, I've found that the GPS needs to be turned on the watch. It was off by default on my watch. Once you've turned GPS on, go to the Samsung Wearables app on THE PHONE and go to the weather function app and select your city. Then refresh your Samsung Watch Tizen weather app and it will pick up your weather location. I have this watch primarily to keep an eye on my ticker. I know that the echo cardiogram like function for the watch will not be available until early 2020, but it's nice to have an Android watch that eventually will have it. Battery lasts about 1.5 days with heavy usage. 2 days with minimal. For all that this watch does it's a great value.

Next level smartwatch!
So I was pretty skeptical about buying this watch here due to it having no reviews but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Shipping was extremely fast and I got the watch the next day and I must say, I love it! Its totally official. Everything a out this watch is amazing from its looks and feel down to it's functionality. Samsung did a really good job with this watch. If your on the fence about buying it go ahead and pick it up you won't regret it.

Impressive upgrade for a fitness user from Gear S2 Sport (3G)
Skip to the "REVIEW" heading if you don't care about the factors at play that influenced my purchase. Update #3: Just about 7 months in of daily use by a very active user. I probably use watch GPS for 10 hours a week on average, and the watch has spent probably a hundred hours in the pool. My battery is at 22% with 4 days and 10 hours on the battery. My opinion of the watch has only improved. Despite daily use in rough environments (cramped car engine bays, chlorinated pools, etc) the watch still looks brand new. There isn't a scratch on the face, and battery life is still as good or better than new. I was concerned the lack of bezel would allow the face to be scratched more, but this watch is TOUGH. I know I've impacted it on tools, concrete, and other....cringe inducing materials and it doesn't show any wear. I've taken to swimming in our 12yd pool in the backyard since everything else is closed, and even with these super short laps, the lap counter function is still dead on. It helps keep me from going crazy counting out the 142 laps that equal a mile. I'm not sure what else I can share. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite gadgets. Update #2: Starting to regularly see battery life of 4+ days. Last two recharges went onto the charger with ~18% battery left after approximately 4d18h usage each. Given the fact that I use the watch for GPS related items almost every day I'm nervous to push it an extra day, but based on the way the battery life continues to increase slowly I'm sure I'll be there soon. I cannot express enough how pleased I am with this watch. Update: After about 3 weeks with the watch, I regularly get 4 full days to a charge with standard use. If I use the GPS for more than a few hours over that time I might find myself needing to charge after 3 days just to be safe. After 90 minutes with the GPS on (not tethered to phone) this weekend I had used 11% of my battery. Battery life is FANTASTIC. Easily double the best battery life I saw with my Gear S2. BACKSTORY: I've been using a Samsung Gear S2 Sport for a little over 3 years now. It's served me well, but even after a battery replacement I'm struggling to get more than 24 hours out of a charge, and little more than 90 minutes of GPS time. As an endurance athlete this won't cut it for me. SHOPPING: When I first got the Gear S2 the smartwatch was more of a fun toy, not something I 'needed'. I've enjoyed the conveniences its brought me so much that it is now a requirement and I found myself looking to replace it with an upgrade. My minimum requirements for a smartwatch narrowed options quite a bit. Probably my favorite feature is being able to answer calls (when connected via bluetooth to my phone) through the watch itself. As someone who is always keeping busy, its great to be able to answer a phone call hands free while working under my car, on a ladder, or on a bike ride. Having a built in microphone and speaker was a must. A battery with enough capacity for a 4+ hour run or bike ride was also an absolute must for fitness tracking. Water resistance was also important, but I already take my Gear S2 off when I swim, so it wasn't a requirement. I was willing to look at other brands/ecosystems, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Samsung Health, so I looked to Samsung watches first. Luckily they offered a watch that met pretty much all of my needs. REVIEW: As I write this review, I'm still on my first charge (55% left after 37 hours) so you may consider this a little premature. I'm writing this review because of the incredibly positive experience I've already had. I purchased the 44mm Aluminum version because the 40mm version was sold out and I wanted to take advantage of the Cyber Monday deal. I had seen in reviews that people regretted getting the 44mm because it was too large, and I do have smaller wrists. Coming from the 42mm Gear S2 I wasn't too nervous, but the idea of a smaller watch intrigued me as it would be less likely to get in the way. Size: See pictures for how the 44mm watch looks on a tall guy with skinny wrists. I think the pictures make it look a little larger than it actually is and feels. It's about 1mm thinner than my Gear S2, and despite supposedly being about 2mm larger in diameter, when the two are compared side by side they appear to be the same size. The band is definitely suited for people with larger wrists, when I have it on the second smallest size, its just a tiny bit loose, and the smallest size is right about snug. This band would likely not work for men of smaller stature or most women. I would assume the 40mm version has a smaller band, but I cannot confirm. I am very pleased with the size and weight. At right around 30g, its half the weight of the stainless Gear S2 I came from. I was concerned about durability upon discovering its an aluminum watch, but after wearing it the build quality feels excellent. Battery Life: The 44mm version has a battery that's approximately 30% larger than the 40mm, which was important to me in the interest of fitness tracking. I normally remove my watch every night to charge, but with my normal use it looks like I'll be able to get away with charging it every 3 to 4 nights. I'm at 55% now after 37 hours, and that includes an hour of auto detected workout, a run, and a swim. I do keep wi-fi off, I don't use the wake up gesture (watch face turn on when lifting wrist), and I keep default brightness low (but auto). Fitness tracking: Part of what prompted me to write a positive review so quickly was my morning run/swim today. The improvements over my Gear S2 are tremendous as you can now customize the data displayed for each individual workout type. Want to see heart rate, speed, and elapsed time? Ok. Want 3 different metrics? Also OK. Totally customizable with big text that is easy to read. This watch is supposedly waterproof to 5 atmospheres and has a swim tracker, so I had to try it out. I swam 56 lenghts in the pool this morning, and without any setup or configuration the watch also counted 56. I was astonished. There is an option to set your pool lenght so it can accurately measure total distance also. The data provided is also variable: time per length, strokes per length, time per 100yd, etc. It isn't 100% accurate, but 90% of the time the information appears to be spot on. I'm a casual swimmer who is always trying to get faster, so I'm really looking forward to using this on my intense workouts. Syncing Samsung Health with Strava couldn't be easier, and was completely seamless when switching from my Gear S2 to the Active 2. Other notes: The Gear S2 had a physical rotating bezel that sat proud of the watch face. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 has no physical bezel, just a touch bezel surrounding the display. I was (and still am) nervous to lose the protection provided by the physical bezel, and I also enjoyed being able to go right to the bezel to wake and control the watch. Thankfully, the touch bezel is just as intuitive as the physical one, with excellent haptic and visual feedback resulting in a level of control that feels completely natural, even after 3+ years of muscle memory built up from a physical bezel. I wear my watch 24/7, and totally use it as a fashion device when attending formal gatherings. I'll generally turn the watch face to always on and chose a neat face when I'm dressed up. The Galaxy Wear app will now allow you to take a picture of your attire, and provide you with a selection of faces that match your theme. This is REALLY cool and it works exactly as you would expect it to. The beautiful design of the watch only makes me want to show it off more. They've really improved the design from the earlier generations and it feels and looks less like a tech gadget, and more like a traditional watch. Really my ONLY gripe for this (and all Samsung watches) is the lack of 3rd party support. It is much better now than when I first got my Gear, but the Galaxy App store really feels like it is about 15 years old. Since apps aren't too big of a deal for me, I don't mind much but it did take getting used to (and eventually just ignoring) the app store and its limited options. I did find Strava, MapMyRun, Smartthings, Alexa, and other apps, but I haven't really found a need for them. Great battery life and size
Great battery life so far and the size is just right at 44mm, the first active watch was a little small. One thing to make sure is if your phone has the latest version of Android (10), released in September 2019, the Samsung watch app that goes on the phone doesn't work with Android 10 yet.

Great watch for fitness tracking and general use
After almost a week with this watch, I love it. Battery life wasn't great the first 2 days but after a couple charge cycles it now last a full 2 days. Tested out the HR monitoring against a Polar chest strap and the numbers were spot on with little to no lag while doing HIIT. Haven't messed around much with any 3rd party apps but the basic functionality is great and looks good as well.

Pixel 3 XL and Active 2 - Working like a charm! 14 Mar 20 Update
So very impressed with this watch! Was a little hesitant given some of what I'd read about incompatibility with Pixel phones, but I haven't had one issue! My big wants were texting replies and music controls. This watch handles both with ease. I use Google Play and Amazon music and the watch controls whichever app I have open on my phone...or I can toggle on the watch itself and play music I have stored on the watch. Perfect! I also wanted the option to reply to texts when phone out of reach, and I can do that via speech or hand written on the watch screen. I also want to be able to track my lap swims, but haven't gotten a chance to try that yet as our gym pool currently under renov. Keep watch on in shower to answer texts or control my music (yeah, I'm a little weird that way) and haven't had an issue. Just extremely pleased with the watch and its usefulness as a whole! Pixel owners, full steam ahead! This watch has NO connection problems. And until Google puts out a Pixel Watch (was hoping that was going to be announced this month...no such luck) this watch ROCKS! And it is thin, lightweight and pretty...even have the 44 mm on my very small wrists. Only thing I didn't like, was only one watch band...and it was way too big for my small wrists...just hung. But any 20 mm watch band fits, so I just got a more adjustable one and all is right in my world! 14 Mar 20 Update: Have finally been using it for lap swimming and have to say it is awesome. Have only been off by two laps one time...and mostly my fault for trying to adjust goggles in the middle of a lap. Still LOVING this stylish piece and battery easily carries me through a weekend. Also like the fact I don't have to have my phone on me when downstairs to answer a text or a call. I have a 4500 sf house and it picks up my phone bt without a hitch. Has come in handy more than a few times! Great purchase, still amazingly satisfied!

I like the product. Unfortunately, I did not receive the gift offered for the present order.. I am happy with amazon not to keep their credibility.

A great and slim smartwatch and fitness tracker!!!
I have this smartwatch for almost a week and it is great. Even I got the bigger 44mm it is light weight and super comfortable for exercising. I dont have a big wrist but the 44mm fits perfectly! The heart rate monitor is accurate, the resolution of the screen is amazing and using the touch sensitive bezel makes navigation easier. The active 2 works perfectly with Samsung phones (I have a note 9), it syncs quickly with the health app and the galaxy wearable app. The only bad thing about this watch is the 2 days of battery life, but it's still better than the apple watch's battery life.
