Works perfect, arrived perfect

I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loves it! It's very convenient to just pick up and use since it heats up in no time, and there's a quick and easy guide for the temperature control depending on the materials used. The variety of tips is nice, and they all work well on the materials listed. Overall it was a great gift and extremely tile!

Keeps wool coat clean and reduces waste

This is perfect for my heavy wool coat that attracts hair and lint. The coat is black, and it always looked dirty, no matter how often I used my tape lint rollers. This brush works perfectly to remove all the day's detritus, keeping my coat looking new. Plus I love that I'm not throwing away sheet after sheet of lint-roller tape, and that I can use this brush for years on all kinds of clothes.

Would recommend

I like the way it works, it gets very hot. But you have to be careful that the temperature gauge doesn't move as my arm would lay on it and it would move the gauge. I love the fact that you can control the temperature as many did not have the flexibility.

Good Kit

I am new to wood burning, but I enjoy using this. It is easy to hold and I like the feel of it. I wish the temperature control wasn't so easy to knock and turn down (maybe have some bite points along the dial so it can stay in place) but it works very well and I have used it on a lot of projects. I bought more points once I found out which I liked, but overall it is a great starter kit.

Awesome!!!

This will be awesome once I can figure out to keep my hands steady! I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time because my husband and I do tons of crafts, but I didn’t want to pay for all of the expensive ones. This does the job perfectly. This would make the perfect gift for a crafter like me!

A most excellent pencil case

I found this case to be an excellent one for my Color Pencils and highly recommend it for that purpose. I’m not sure how well it would work for something a bit more bulky like gel pens but think it likely to be good for that too. However, I’m only certain about its use with color pencils, which is great.

Great product.

My wife and I bought this to make a custom rolling pin for our friends' wedding. I also used this to make the lines on a crokinole board I have been building. In searching for a wood burning kit, I was looking for something not too expensive (hoping it would survive at least these two projects), had a variety of tips, and decent reviews. The temperature control seemed like a nice feature as well.Pros:- It has everything I was looking for in an introductory kit.- The heat shielding works well.- It seems to heat up quickly (although I have nothing to compare it to other than soldering irons, which seem like very similar concepts).- The plastic case is sturdy enough and works well.Cons:- As others have pointed out, the temperature control is in an awkward spot. I've taken to draping the cord over my shoulder, which keeps the temp control out of the way for the most part.- Some of the tips get a little soft at high temperatures (not sure if this common).My advice:- Take care when screwing in /unscrewing the tips. Letting the tool cool before changing tips is a good idea as well. Hot tips are probably much more likely to break.- Clean tips transfer heat much better. I use very light pressure on fine sandpaper to clean off corrosion.To sum it up, I think this kit has been a good introduction to wood burning. I finished the projects I bought it for, I had fun, and I'm sure I'll use it again.

Great Gift

Bought this kit as a Christmas gift for my 12 year old grandson who loves anything to do with wood. This kit comes in a soft vinyl zippered case with colored pencils, plenty templates, and ample burner tips in addition to the burner. While I didn’t actually burn any wood with it (didn’t want to give a used gift) I did plug it in to insure it heated up. Within seconds the tip was too hot to touch. That’s when I noticed the dial on the handle where one can control how hot the burner gets. It goes from 200 to 450 degrees. He will be thrilled with this gift.

Nice Kit

I have wanted one of these for awhile! I am super crafty and would like to branch out into more wood work. I have some practice to go but feel like this is a great starter kit!! It also is very organized with instructions and lots of different tips.

Lot's of possibilities

Easy to use, heat is controlable. Comes with tons of accessoires and templates for a big variety. I had so much fun to try out. I still need to practice to get better, but you can see my examples how cute you can make. Everything fits in the included case
