Showed up used but they made it right
Update at the bottom of my review! The product works great so far. With the right height and knowing it limitations. I would love to give it five stars, However it showed up to us very obviously used and scratched like someone else used it for a few days and returned it. Really not happy about paying 300 for a used item. Things were definetly not put back right in the box. The glasses were scratched. And the metal was very scratched. There are little metal shavings on the base as well. The spot it plugs in has scrathes as if someone was not paying attention when plugging it in....Fingers crossed that we dont run into any issues -update the company reached out to me and their customer service was excellent!!!! Amd I will also add that it still works great a couple months later!

NICE LASER ENGRAVER
Looking for something like this for a well, small and powerful. Everything come with are very cool, especially the glass, u can see sun directly. I tried few times on paper and wood for now, some take long time, but they are did great jobs. Easy to use through a phone app, simple to use and u can upload any pic u like to this. It has pass code to active which makes it more safe. I will use it on costume gift or paints. It's worth to try yourself. Remember, it must be used in room with good airiness..

Putting my branding irons away
I've had the Laserpecker for about an hour and realize that I have a new way to sign my wood projects. But more than that, I can personalize the projects with custom messages and pictures. I am so impressed with this tool! I did the dog paw sample on pine and it's beautiful! Highly recommended for woodworkers who can find their way around their cell phone.

Great laser
Amazing little device, keep in mind it will do 4in. x 4in. max but other than that does some incredible work for the price and very very easy to use.

What a wonderful machine!!! See updated comments below
Here are my first results at laser engraving my flute maker's stamp using a $321 (including tax) Laserpecker (see laserpecker.net). It just came in the mail today. Usually I use a $20,000 laser engraver with a rotary attachment that friends own. They use theirs for precision cutting of parts for their magnificent musical instruments. Because of the Pandemic I haven't had access to their machine if we are going to follow Social Distancing guidelines. I would feel horrible if they caught it from me. These first results are really encouraging. Its actually a bit faster than the expensive ULS engraver that cut through 1/4" rock maple, engrave glass and such. I don't need that much power. I just need to burn with a little bit of depth my maker's mark on the wooden flutes I make. With its 200mm focal length the Laserpecker will engrave onto the curved barrel of the flute although alignment should be spot on. I'll make a jig for that. You can see how the "ns" in my name wandered out on the boxwood example which was misaligned. Not so much on the blackwood example. FYI these head joints are about 30mm in diameter. The 200mm focal length is great. I can engrave onto the curved surfaces of my flutes easily. If I set the closest point at 198mm the edge of my logo will be at 202mm. Thus at most the laser light is only 1% out of focus which is well within the recommended focus tolerances. These will cut deeper in more passes. I need to tweak the artwork some as well so that the lines are thinner and I have been wanting to change my label anyway. The machine will cut these in about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the time on the ULS and I can do this in-house, which means I don't have to expose my germs to my friends. These are a well thought out machine and the software is easy to use. I can generate artwork on my computer, transfer it to the iPad using an app simply called Photo Transfer loaded on both machines. The Laserpecker app then has some quick and easy editing tools and finally sizes the final image. The editing tools can render any photograph or drawing into the types of line drawings that will engrave. Power and depth and number of passes are then determined and the laser then cuts. The blue light is very intense so you want it shielded or at least you want to be wearing the laser glasses that are provided if you are to look at it, or you will go blind. I have a laser shield on order. It will generate a fair bit of smoke and so using it near an open window with some fanning helps blow the smoke outside. I'll set it up eventually with a hood with an exhaust fan out in my workshop. UPDATE: Someone on the Laserpecker User Group on Facebook came up with a very simple hack that improves the resolution of this machine. The individually cut dots on the Laserpecker are .3mm which corresponds to about 86 Dots per inch. This means kind of a rough edge and loss of detail. One simply attaches a lens with a focal length of around 100mm to the Laserpecker, centered over the laser (note that it is offset to the left looking from behind the laser), fastening it with blue tack or duct tape. This focuses the cutting plane to around 78mm from the face of the Laserpecker and reduces the dot size to .11mm, equivalent to a DPI of 216mm. It will still cut on a round surface as on my flutes (these are 30mm in diameter at this point). One simply adjusts the software image to print larger than the resulting image. I order it to print 50mm tall and the result is around 16mm. The Laserpecker Pro which will be on Amazon in August is double the resolution. The same hack could be used. One can also go to a shorter focal length lens for more resolution but one might start encountering astigmatism issues. Something to try. I now have this machine set up on an inexpensive ($35) XY table that I purchased on Amazon, mounted to a board. A turned post is mounted that I simply slip my flute head joints onto. They are then aligned perfectly and at the correct position along the length for laser engraving.

Buy this, it's so easy, works great!
Omg, what an amazingly simple little laser workhorse. No, it can't engrave metal, but does a great job on leather and wood. 7.5 inches from surface works great. Buy it, you will be delighted!
