I had a seemingly endless number of ants attacking my cat's food daily. I put these traps out and within hours they were swarmed, by the next day there were dead bodies everywhere but I decided to leave them because these ants carry their dead back. Within a few days all the bodies were gone and I haven't seen an ant since. So just set these out and let them be, it's tempting to clean all the dead ants but don't, the poisoned bodies will help your cause.

For years, I have controlled household insects by putting a thick bead of Spectracide Insect Killer for Lawns every 3 months at the junction of the house foundation and the ground. It worked beautifully, even for ants - and much better than expensive and professional pest control companies could do. But somehow some army ants got into my attic - first time - and created a nest and were coming down through small holes into my kitchen and pantry. I did not want to use Ortho Home Defense where my food was, so I tried this ant bait. Following directions, I then put it on the top shelf of my pantry at 1 pm, and the ants sure did come and started taking the bait back to the nest to the queen. I watched the stream hour after hour and the stream of army ants got smaller and smaller. I got up this morning, and the stream was all gone, but there were dead ants everywhere. I understand that the soldiers take the food back to the nest and everyone has a feast, even the queen. Serves her right to die since those poor soldiers were working their a....'s off to feed her. Since she is gone, I am sure that problem has been solved. I then put a preventive station in my attic close to where were they were coming in.

I will update this if circumstances change, but at the moment, this product gets high marks. I have had an ant problem in my kitchen for almost two weeks. They have been relentless. Just when I thought I had them beat, there they were again. And my counters are black granite, so the little buggers are hard to see. I received my order of this product yesterday, and had two on my counters at light speed. The ants immediately made a bee line for the opening. This morning, aside from a couple stragglers, NO ANTS! If they stay at bay, this will definitely be my go-to product going forward.

When I was a kid, my mom tried "ant stakes" and they never worked. You could place it in a stream of ants and they would make a new path around it. The ants never cared about them and never went in them. My mom was stubborn and kept trying them, but it never worked. My next door neighbor moved and tore up his entire yard and then when the new guy moved in he did it again. Ants came flooding into our house from that side. Cans of Raid weren't working because there were too many of them and you couldn't find their trails well enough. So I saw that these were highly rated on Amazon and I took a chance. Wow. I came down one morning to a stream of ants so I put one of these in the stream. The ants immediately forgot what they were doing and swarmed the bait instead. Unbelievable. I also had a few ants in my shower (my wife has fruity shampoos and conditioners) and the next day there were thousands. But I left them and the next day there were 10,000 dead ants in my shower. Just piles of them. These things really work to kill the ants and I assume kill the whole colony too. We have struggled with ants all summer since my neighbor's move and in 2 weeks these have killed them all.

So many products make extravagant promises and then, don't deliver. This one delivers. I had a terrible invasion of ants. The non-toxic spray I have killed the ants on contact, but then I had to vacuum them up, and of course, since the queen was still alive, other workers would simply invade my home. After reading several reviews, I decided to try this. It worked! I put the little round containers in strategic places, and within twenty-four hours, I didn't see another ant. (I didn't have any dead ants on my floors, either, but if you do, it's okay to vacuum them up.) This works by disrupting the nervous system of the ants, slowly paralyzing them and then killing them. (I don't like to inflict that kind of torture even on an ant, but when it comes down to the ants or me, the ants have to go.) The ants are attracted to the sweet smell of the gel or granules in the container (though we can't smell it), and they carry it back to the colony, where everyone proceeds to feast on it, including the queen. With the queen dead, the colony disperses, if any ants are left alive. This will not harm adult humans, unless they'd eat a lot of it, and I assume no one is going to do that. It is best to keep it away from young children, dogs, and cats, though. Now, I have a Maine Coon, but he is very finicky and won't eat anything but his own food, which he, himself, has selected. I watched him carefully, but he had no interest at all in the containers. The ants, however, were drawn to them like a magnet, and in twenty-four hours or less, no more ants! I love that! Before using this product, I couldn't set a glass of iced tea down without it drawing a parade of ants. My Maine Coon would find ants in his food bowl, and I would have to dump any food, wash his bowl, then get him clean food. This stuff works. It does what it says it'll do, but please, keep it away from young children, dogs, and cats. It could make them sick, maybe, maybe not, but you don't want to take the chance.

I cant even put into words how absolutely happy I am with these. I'm so glad I tried them. With that price, i asked myself "what do you really have to lose?" I'm gonna ditch the spray that I use to swear by and reccomend to people. This little tin is so easy to use and you get 4! I essentially needed one but I placed them in different areas since ants were popping up on different floors of the house. I'll be honest. When I put it out directly infront of some ants, they didnt seem to go for it. I said "man, I knew it was too good to be true " but then!!!! I come back a few minutes later and there were an army of ants. You definitely want to put it as close to the ants' entry point as possible. I mistook the entry point and placed one across the room and had to dodge the parade of ants. It was fascinating and cringy to watch tbh. But everyone was right. After 24 hrs I didnt see a single ant. It's been over a week now and I still haven't seen one. And thank goodness for the sturdiness of the tin because my dog was playing with it like a hockey puck and it held up.

I didn't work. At first. Ants kept ignoring it and I forgot about those bait stations. The infestation continued and at some point I was really annoyed by an exceptional big ant trail...until I saw that they were swarming one if those stations. I don't know why all of a sudden but it didn't matter. In a matter of two days every single ant disappeared! DO NOT get rid of dead ants during the first 3 days after they disappeared, there might be still some left taking care of their deceased ones - additional bait as I see it!

I had about 20 ants in my kitchen one morning... and not the small ones you usually see... but BIG suckers that looked like carpenter ants or something. I freaked out and popped on amazon immediately and got these next day delivered for a great price. I deployed them in the am and by the afternoon I didnt see any ants. I haven’t seen any more ants for days since. I can’t believe it actually worked! I was expecting to battle these ants for weeks w/ many products. I hope it killed the colony. Unfortunately the color and size of these totally also attracts toddlers and babies. I moved it outside the door of where i was seeing them and it sort of solved that problem.. but I still need to watch them around it when they are outside playing now. Overall I’d HIGHLY recommend these.

We have been having a lot of problems with small ants this spring. None of the standard ant traps sold in the grocery store and at the home supply places were working. We tried all of them. This is the ONLY trap which seems to actually kills the ants. The one negative is that more than a few of the ants will die right there, next to the trap. This is not like the kind of trap that the ants take back to the nest, where suddenly after a day or two, you have no ants (and no ant carcasses).

My dog insists on putting everything in her mouth. If she can get her mouth on it, she'll chew it. This ant trap was no exception - especially since it smelled so good (to her). My dog is quick to destroy things and she had the trap for a while before I noticed. She didn't break the hard metal shell so she barely got any poison. She's over 60lbs and was perfectly fine following the incident. Reading up about dogs eating ant traps - the biggest concern is if the dog swallows parts of the plastic or metal containers. This container held up well to my power chewer. I'm not sure about the effectiveness of this product vs other ant traps. I like that it's a solid bait/poison so it's no mess. From my experience, it works better than pet safe diatomaceous earth (DE). With DE there are different concerns about inhalation of the powder when it's poured or moved. Overall this is a good budget and dog friendly ant trap.
