Great product and great customer service!
Both the 3Doodler Start and the company deserve a 5 star review. I had purchased one of the pens for my 10-year-old daughter at Christmas. She loved it! I loved the fact that it didn’t require parental assistance to operate and that it didn’t break or get jammed right away. My little angel has ADHD and tends to break everything she owns. We had to buy a new pair of headphones for her every week. You might ask why I kept buying them, but it was worth the expense to not have to listen to her music. The 3D pen worked really well, was intuitive for her to use and was not prone to jamming. My daughter, however, did manage to get it jammed after several weeks of daily use, and tried to remedy the issue on her own by pushing a pen tip into the nozzle of the 3Doodler Start. The tip of the ball-point pen came off in the nozzle. I opened it up, removed the obstruction and put it back together again (I should note here that doing this will void your warranty). The Start worked fine afterward but the small, plastic nozzle at the tip of the device had dilated as a result of having had a pen forced into it. Thereafter the diameter of the melted plastic that it extruded was almost as thick as the pre-melted sticks, and came out at a snail’s pace. I contacted customer service via email and was honest about what had happened. I simply asked to purchase a new nozzle so that I could fix the Start myself. I received the following reply (this is an excerpt), “Sadly we don't sell the 3Doodler Start nozzles separately as they are not intended to be removed from the pen itself.” I wasn’t happy with this response. To make a long story a medium length story, after a couple more exchanges with this employee I was passed along to the next level of customer service and received a genuine, in-depth explanation of why they couldn’t just send me another nozzle. It made sense and I would have accepted it, but the CSR said he was going to send me a whole new 3Doodler Start to rectify the problem. I received the 3D pen today. It’s brand new and seems to be a special version of the Start, with graphics for girls (which demonstrates that they had put extra thought into choosing a pen that my daughter might like). The company went above and beyond to make me happy even when the issue wasn’t their fault. In my opinion, good customer service is just as important as having quality products and 3Doodler delivers on both accounts.

Unmarked packaging was a bit odd, but the 3D Doodler itself was a hit.
My ten-year old daughter really enjoys creating art with this and has made a really cool trinket box that she uses to store small items. Target advertised the 3D Doodler in their holiday toy catalog, but it was out of stock so I went straight to Amazon. This was the same exact brand and item, yet was packaged very differently; it arrived in an unmarked cardboard box, which I thought was a little odd. However, all items inside the plain box were new and individually packaged in clear cellophane. My daughter had to dig around and scan the instruction booklet to make sense of what looked like a hodgepodge of stuff. Other than the 60 seconds I held my breath not knowing if the gift was a hit or a flop... gift giver and receiver are both very happy with this product.

Lots of fun
My daughter absolutely loves this. Felt it was kind of pricey for as fast as the stuff gets used but she still loves creating with it.

Fun Art Time
My daughter really enjoyed the 3D doodle pen. After watching the utube video and reading the directions in the box we quickly got started. It took a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but within 15 minutes she was making her first 3-d art. I would recommend this pen as a run way to make creative art.
