I can't recommend this thing highly enough. From my personal experience over 6 years of hydroponic gardening, I've stopped relying on the accuracy of pH strips/ color indicating drops. After owning this device for ~3 months, the plant health has improved dramatically, simply because I'm (now) using the proper pH level. Just be sure to calibrate it once per month or so. Mine came calibrated out of the box.

Happy Plants

As a farmer, it is vital for me to make sure the water that I feed to my plants has a perfect ph balance. This ph meter delivers fast FAST accuracy and can hold it's own up to ph meters that cost $200 or more. Another important feature that I like about this meter is that it has a calibrate function that's so easy a cave man can do it. If you're on the fence of either getting a cheaper product, don't do it. Do yourself that favor and get this ph meter. Fast delivery. I ordered this device and got it the same week. Comes with extra batteries and ph packets. The only downside is it isnt waterproof. I havent had any problem or issues since the feed that I use this in splashes everywhere.

Work as described

The product worked on arrival with no damage. After about a month or so of use it still works fine. Does not need to be calibrated constantly. If it need to be calibrated it comes with the calibration solution. Edit June 10, 2020; Since last review I have dropped this in the bottom of my water tank and the screen had water in it....let it dry and still works as described...still no need for a calibration.

Great tool

The built of the device is excellent as well as the quality & durability. The backlight is amazing and let’s you see the readings no matter where are you. The reason I ordered this device is because you can use one device to measure all your requirements instead of using 2 or 3 devices. Unfortunately I received a defective device he seller refunded me immediately. Great after sales services and quick response to customer inquiries. Will reorder a new device.

Great for pools too

We got this to check the water that comes from our faucets because of the color it sometimes would have and just wanted to make sure. The more I read the instructions, I found that this is also good for pools, which we have. We do our own cleaning and add our own chemicals and with this it's been a lot easier to do than with the strips. Not to mention, we don't have to constantly buy those strips. The readings it gives us are pretty much the same from what those strips were telling us. We actually did a side by side comparison and the results were the same. Just to double check, we went off of this digital reader and added the amount of chlorine that is suggested. After awhile, we checked the water with the digital and strip, again, got the same reading. This is so simple to use. Just dip the tip of the reader in the water and push the button. The reading is almost instantly. We actually had to have some pipes redone but would have not known what was going on without this reader. Really does come in handy and now we use it for the pool.

Dont waste money on a cheap or multiple meters, wish Id bought this long ago.

After burning through cheap meters, and losing plants as they became uncalibrated I finally got this meter. I dont have to switch between meters anymore and it showed me how far off my cheap meter had gotten after I started to poison my precious plants with intolerable PH and EC levels. If they could do anything better IMO it would be to switch the position of the PH to PPM mode to make it easier but other than that its been a great upgrade. I like how I can did the unit into container like spare milk gallons which I use sometimes without losing it also. Comes with an ample supply of extras also to recalibrate so you dont have to spend money on hardly used recalibration agents. Dave your money plant and effort if your doing hydro, no point in investing in everything else just to lose your plants or stunt them because your cheap meter slipped out of calibration or just died.

Nice compact meter

Nice meter that saves you time over the old ph style test strips. You simply just dip the end in and your all set. Makes quick work of getting accurate ph measurments. Great value for the price as it will pay for itself over time

Overall great tool for the money. Easy Peezy

Came with six packets, all three calibration point solution. Also came with new batteries and three extra replacement batteries. It was nearly perfectly calibrated right out of the box, however I would suggest doing your own initial calibration set up. The light up display is great and turns itself off after 15 or 20 seconds. Seems to be very accurate, within a 10th of a point or two. .02 +- The TDS meter is right on, and is also calibrated from the factory. Read the same as my other TDS meters. Overall great tool for the money.

Accurate PH reading and practical backlit LCD function

I used it for hydroponic testing. The optimum PH range is between 5.5 and 6.5 for most hydroponic crops. The accuracy of the PH meter surprised me. Now I only need to switch the PH meter and put it into the measured liquid, then I can get accurate readings immediately. There’s no need for complicated preparations. Also thanks to the backlight, I am able to measure at night, which saves me a lot of time. Overall is pretty good!
