Ultra thin webcam cover ALMOST perfect for MacBook Air 2020

This is the third purchase of a webcam lens cover and it almost works perfectly. Is ultra thin and doesn’t seams to prevent the MacBook Air 2020 to close properly, but it does added a gap that worries me that could damage the screen since a gap indicates that pressure is concentrated in a spot. What makes it thicker seams to be the adhesion film as shown in the last picture. The sticking film added to the products makes it twice thicker. I also tried other magnetic version considering that should be thinner but the cover falls apart. So far seams to be a good product, made of metal. I wish it could be a little bigger to make it easier to slide, but not so big that it could interfere with the ambient light sensor usually at the right of the camera. It is a little bit hard to slide since is very small, but it might improve overtime while using. However is a good thing that it doesn’t slide on it’s own as reported by other versions of camera covers. If they can make the sticking part thinner the product will be perfect.

It Works and Blends In Seamlessly

After years of using ugly, black electrician's tape to cover my laptop's camera, I am so happy to have found this ingenious little gadget. It's small, thin, and simple, which is exactly what I was looking for. It doesn't impede my laptop from closing at all. The black color of the webcam cover blends in with the black bezel around my laptop screen. I don't even notice the cover because it blends in so well. Because of its small size, it does require a steady hand and good lighting when applying. On my MacBook Pro 16", I tilted the screen so that I could see where the camera was, I lined it up and applied the cover. The webcam cover opens and closes smoothly. If applied correctly, when the cover is open it doesn't block the camera. When closed, it completely covers the camera, so that only black can be seen instead of an image. I'm going to order more for my family. Highly recommended! A+

Nice little solution to computer cameras

Pros: - installs very fast and stays on well - manual camera blockage is the best way to know you aren’t showing your boss that it’s 2pm and you’re still in your PJs. Cons: - on my Surface Pro, the different sensors are very close to the camera, and even as small as these are, it was tough to put it on straight and ensure it wasn’t blocking anything. (Tip: I left the camera on while installing, and only peeled 1/2 of the backing away from the adhesion, until I had it placed where it wasn’t blocking). - it’s difficult to tell (because they are black, and so is the camera on my computers) whether the slider is blocking the camera or not at a glance. I fixed that with fine paint pens, coloring in the slider and the backing that shows when the camera is covered. So, when the camera is open, you only see the one dot. When it’s closed, you see the entire oval. You could just slide it to check, but these feel a little flimsy, and I didn’t want to mess with them that much. Overall, I’m happy with them. Cheap, easy, and they look nicer than my pink post it note covering them prior to these.

Great for iMac, MacBook Air, and Dell Laptops

So I've been using these webcam blockers for a few months now, and I've been very happy with them! The adhesive on the back is strong, and so far, the plastic slides have been holding well. With so many stories of people's webcams being hacked, or Zoom meetings going awry, simply knowing that my webcam can physically be blocked puts my mind at ease. I used to use tape, but then the adhesive would smudge and interfere with the image, something I no longer have to worry about. The cover slides were easy to put on, and they recede very easily into the back borders of the screen, making them barely noticeable. If your computer doesn't come with a mechanical blocker, or if you're looking to no longer use tape, I suggest giving these a try!

Even smaller than expected, and works great

These are much better than I expected. They are TINY. I don't feel like the pictures do them justice. They are small enough you wont notice them on your phone or computer. Despite the size they feel very sturdy. I bought two packs to cover most of the family's devices, I will likely buy another to cover some of the lower-priorty devices now that I've seen them. You'll need to use your fingernail to pry the little door open/closed -- I do wish they had put a little texture or a bump on the door so that it would be easier to manipulate. But I think that's a minor complaint. The adhesive seems pretty good, too -- I cleaned the surfaces with alcohol and held the thing there for 30 seconds as stated in the direction and it seems pretty firmly stuck there now.

Simple, easy, effective

I'm kind of pissed I haven't discovered these sooner. I've been using a sticky tab to cover the cameras on my computers for YEARS. This is a much better, visually appealing option. It's a little hard lining it up to get the cover perfectly level and tidy on there, but because it's black, if you do put it on slightly crooked (like me), it's hardly noticeable and still that much better than a sticky tab. The slider is super easy to move back and forth, but sticks in spot well so you're not going to have it accidentally slide open or closed. If you're using something silly like a sticky tab to cover your cameras, as I was, this is a much better option. Cheap and easy. Just do it.

These are tiny!

Update: Still like these, but hard to open/close, so I used an Exacto knife to make little indents into the sliding cover. MUCH easier to grab with my finger or nail now! See pic ~~~~~ These are easy to apply and fairly easy to use... would be great if the sliding "door" had a little lip on it to grab with your fingernail... A little tough to grab, but they are super tiny and very thin. Put on my 2015 Macbook Pro, 2020 Macbook Air and the iMac... Lids close perfectly! Pay attention to where the ambient light sensor is for your laptop so that you don't inadvertently cover it. The screen won't dim properly if you do. They work great, worth the money!

The thinnest best one I have found.

This one is so thin you can barely tell that it’s there. It does not interfere with covers or anything else. It takes a little work to move the slider which is great because it doesn’t open accidentally. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants one which is this thin with a secure closer. The only thing I had to do before attaching wants to slide the slider open so that I could email over the camera lens. They have a great way of being able to attach it and making sure that it’s centered with an extra feature that is included.

Excellent camera covers!

I first started using these style of camera covers from giveaways at conferences, but they were a little thick so my laptop wouldn't shut all the way. It was annoying, but I lived with it until I was told that it can cause my screen to crack. These were the thinnest covers I could find, and they work perfectly! They are completely unnoticeable on my screen so it doesn't look as distracting or tacky as using a sticky note. Another reason I would recommend these in particular is the excellent customer service I received. I initially ordered the wrong quantity, but after contacting the seller, they made it easy to upgrade my order.

The privacy is worth it

Okay, let's be real. I got this webcam cover because I watched Mr. Robot and got super paranoid. This webcam cover is SUPER tiny, but it covers my MacBook and iPad webcam perfectly. I even messed up the first time and had to take it out and reposition it, but it still sticked well. The only thing is sliding the cover if you do want to use the webcam. I have pretty tiny fingers, but sometimes I even have problems trying to slide the cover open. Either way, I think it's still worth it.
