I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 and over the course of 20 years the factory tailgate cables had unsurprisingly rusted and frayed until they broke. These were very easy to replace, the little "ear" on one end of the cable works great to make sure the cable "folds" back into place like it should and now I'm not worried about the tailgate staying securely in place. With the right star bit wrench attachment , which I already owned, I was able to remove and replace both cables in about 5 minutes. Very happy with this purchase.
