Works well, covers a large area, and it's very quiet during operation. I wonder if some of the people complaining that it didn't work forgot to open the vent flap. See the pics. It's also smaller than I expected but that's a good thing because it's not obtrusive. I wish it had a remote but beside that, I'm very happy with it. UPDATE AFTER 3 MONTHS: Still working awesome! Make sure you do take the filter out every week or so and dust it off. I run this almost 24/7 at 50% humidity and it fills up the water overnight. I placed in the same room as my thermostat and ever since I did that, my lower and upper floors have similar temperatures. Before the dehumidifier, my second floor would get really warm while the first floor remained pretty cold. I keep it running in the lower fan speed setting since it's always running. Depending on your setup, I'd probably recommend you placing it in your coldest area, and this is because the air that comes out of the vent is slightly heated. Also, turn it off if you open your house windows or doors for an extended period of time so that you're not dehumidifying your neighborhood and wasting your energy :)

Let me first start off by saying I am very picky when it comes to dehumidifiers. The last one I had lasted for 10 years. This one that I have purchased is amazing. It has a slight hum to it which is very soothing. I love that it comes with a drainage hose and I love the fact that it's pretty lightweight and easy to move. I highly recommend it. We put it in the center of our house because our home for some reason collects lots of moisture. It is very easy to use and I highly recommend it.

I live in Florida and its get very humid sometimes and even if the thermostat set for lover temperature you feel very uncomfortable because of humidity. This one is perfect for my living room that is open space with kitchen and dining room (about 1000 sq ft.) It reduced humidity super quick and keep it on the level that i set it for. Works pretty quiet but the only thing if you install it permanently i would definitely recommend to run the hose outdoor, since it got filled with water super fast. Overall definitely recommend and its much cheaper then well known brands. My energy bill hasn't changed as well, so i think its pretty energy efficient.

I have a propane heat source in my 960 sq ft cottage that creates a lot of moisture in the air so I needed to buy a dehumidifier. In searching for one I did comparison shopping and considered customer reviews. In the end, I chose Waykar 40pint. I am extremely happy with this purchase. It works fantastic. It's very well built and it is obvious that this company really cares about its product and its customers. I had a question and when I called, I received an immediate call back with helpful and very friendly service. I love everything about this dehumidifier. It is quiet and highly efficient and it looks good to boot!. I love that it has an automatic shutoff when full. I highly recommend this product.

Very attractive unit rolls easily. Easy access to tank when emptying is necessary and the digital display tells me when to empty. I use the water to water my house plants but I haven’t needed the tube for automatic emptying. This was an excellent purchase and I am reviewing simply because we always consider reviews when purchasing items. I definitely recommend! Please watch short video to see for yourself. My house smells and feels so much better than it did before this dehumidifier.

I tried different ones before and this is the one I kept. It has more capacity, it's easy to move to places and it's not too bulky. I live in a one bedroom apartment and I feel that helps to reduce humidity in the other parts of the apartment (I place it in the bedroom). Other things I really like is the shape of the tank and that is place it in the front of the unit so I have very easy access to it. More I used less humidity is in the area and I don't need to dump the water tank so often, with other dehumidifiers I got before, no matter how long I had it on, it was always the same % of humidity in the room and the tank was always full fast, with this one I can see the level goes down and I can really feel it.

I have a smaller 1920s house on a pier and crawl foundation in Florida and humidity has always been an issue during the "in between seasons" when the A/C is not running. I bought this and use the drain hose to the outside. It has done the job, bringing the humidity from the high 60s to the high 50s. The tank is somewhat small, but that is my only complaint. Quiet and compact.

This works great, and is useful in my home during the summer months when my evaporator cooler works little when a period of humid air envelops our area. I can still use the cooler, but the humid air it brings is mitigated by this unit. So quiet, easy to empty, and works great. Thank you.

REAL STAT, first off: I don't know what the "40 pints" rating is supposed to mean, but I measured the capacity of the storage bin. (For me the machine is free-standing and I'm not using the possibility of outflow to a drain system, so this stat is significant to me.) The bin overflows at 3 quarts of collected water. Capacity of the bin, at the point where the dehumidifier shuts off, is about 2.5 to 2.75 quarts. (Four cups in a quart, four quarts in a gallon, jsyk.) So the total collected capacity is WAY less than a gallon. Not a deal-breaker, but be aware: "40 pints" doesn't equal a five-gallon collection bin, if that's what you're expecting. Might be worth figuring out what that spec means, if you expect to have significant challenges. Everybody's circumstances differ, but in my conditions, I only have to empty the collector bin about once a day. This discreet, fairly quiet little unit was bought to be placed in my main living space, which is where I listen to the radio, play with and educate my grandson, read, cook, and store/play my instruments. For about twenty years I've had a wally-world-purchased dehumidifier which is bigger and has at least twice the capacity for collection, and has never failed (kudos to it for that), but it is WAY too noisy to co-exist with. No way I can practice in the same room when it's running. I can't say how annoying the rumble is when the compressor kicks in on that dude, which is why it is relegated to the basement, behind a closed door. While it's been helpful in that location it has not been handling the full burden of ambient humidity through the rest of the house, all by itself. So I purchased this other one. I've had this device for a couple of months now. One of my goals with regard to indoor humidity is not only personal comfort, but protection of wooden instruments: violins, cello, guitar, piano. For these instruments, consistent humidity conditions really matter. I definitely can practice in the same room with this dehumidifier while it's running, even though I'd probably turn it off for that period. It doesn't seem to have a frequency I can easily hear, that interferes with intonation, unlike the beast in the basement. Adding this unit to my main floor (24x20) has made me completely comfortable; and when I go to tune my instruments, they're not very far off from the last time I tuned. Five stars for that result. Musicians who play wooden instruments will recognize that tuning is just a symptom. It's the *wood* that we care about, and the glue along the seams, and the potentials for cracking of plates. Control of humidity for wooden instruments is essential. A huge advantage, in terms of energy conservation, is that it will turn itself off once your humidity goal is reached. Summary: It does what I need it to do: supply a stable humidity situation for the maintenance of my instruments and the comfort of myself. I admit that the supplementation of my basement growly unit may have been helping with that. Square feet of my house, a split level (half a level down to the basement, half a level up to the bedrooms/baths) is about 1900. I intend to buy another one of these for my kid who is in a smaller one-bedroom apartment, where it should be able to handle whatever is thrown at it, quietly.

We live in a coastal town in Northern California and have experienced severe mold problems in both of our houses. Our last house had a dehumidifier running 24/7 and we threw out gallons of water. We moved to our new house (built in 1940) and noticed a mildew smell in the winter in our bathroom and mold growing behind our beds and on our windows. When our old humidifier finally died I purchased this one from Amazon. It arrived quickly, easy set up and so much quieter than our old dehumidifier. We have noticed that our bathroom, which is oddly huge, stays mold-free as well as our connecting master bedroom and closet. It runs 24/7, 365 days a year. I love everything about it except the small capacity water tank to manually empty the water. Not enough to not purchase it again, and not enough to hook up the hose. I would 100% purchase this dehumidifier again.
