Way better than anticipated

I had some time off from work and have a TV that only has HDMI, which makes playing all of my older game consoles a bit more challenging. I had planned on getting the Pound adapter since it didn't have a built in HDMI connector. I figured using the HDMI cable that is used for my other consoles would be easier to use than trying to get to the other HDMI ports on the back of the TV. Unfortunately, the Pound adapter wasn't available at the time, so I looked at this one with slight hesitation. It arrived in time, and works as advertised. I have not tried using it without the power adapter, even though they do claim that it often is not necessary. I also did not use the HDMI cable that ships with it. I saw many reviews complain about its quality, and as mentioned above, I already have an HDMI cable plugged in for other consoles that was easier to use. I haven't used this extensively, but it worked flawlessly for me when I used it, and the picture quality is great. I don't have the world's fanciest TV, and also have realistic expectations. The build quality does feel a bit cheap. There isn't much heft to the thing, and it feels like a hollow, cheap adapter, but I'm pretty easy on things, and don't imagine there will be any issues with it.

Works for the most part.

This is great if your tv only has hdmi inputs. My only jam up is the intermittent sound drop and game skip that occurs on my set-up. It could be that I'm old and nod out during gta 3 and need for speed carbon... could be my tv... could be Tom Brady. I'm not concerned enough to diagnose further.

Necessity for New TV's and Old Game Systems

If you want to see a decent picture with an old gaming system, then get an upscalling kit like this. It does not make the picture 4K or anything ridiculous like that, but it matches up the signal to the newer TV's so the picture is crisp and fresh.

Works beautifully, couldn't have asked for anything more. My capture card does seem to have an issue with it, but I think that is an issue with the card. Definitely recommend.

Amazing! For the money its worth it. You get the hd link cable a micro usb wire a power brick for it and it comes with an hdmi wire. Amazing!
