Works well for me
I have used this one for about a month and a half and it has been working very well. I get about a month on one battery charge. The shave is nice and close but it took about a week for my face to get used to this shaver even though I had been using a very old Norelco for years. If you change from a razor, you will need several days for your skin to adjust to not being scraped.

Ver comfortable, quiet shaver
I got this to replace my 25 year old Philips (the battery finally died). Wow! What a lot of nice upgrades in 25 years. It's softer, smoother, quieter, easier to clean, and the cover snaps on firmly. I don't know how long the battery lasts, because I haven't had to charge it in the month I've been using it. Very happy I got a new one, wondering why I waited so long.

Seems like a great shaver
I've owned several shaver brands - Braun, Remington and Norelco. This model Norelco really seems to tackle my course beard hairs pretty well, and I haven't noticed any pulling. VERY comfortable. If it lasts this seems like it will be a top notch razor. I had already shaved with a razor the day this arrived - so just a couple hours after shaving with a razor I re-shaved with this Norelco and my face felt better shaved and smoother afterwards. IDK if that counts as just as close as a blade, but if not it is darn close to it.

Outstanding Razor
I replaced my old 8 year-old Norelco razor with this one, and I couldn't be happier. It runs a bit slower so it's very quiet and never pulls or nicks. Shaving with it is so easy, close and smooth. I've had mine for a couple of months and the battery lasts about 2 weeks for me. It's MUCH better than my older Norelco razor. And the price was quite reasonable.

Just perfect for the money
Great electric razor all around. It’s not the most ergonomic I’ve ever held but so what - you get a clean shave without hair ripping pain (see review of a different razor I used to have for that). Smooth, clean shave in a short period of time and the best, longest battery life I’ve ever seen on an electric shaver / razor. Go with this one, not the super cheap garbage out there that will leave your bleeding and red faced but also no need to spend $200+

Great Razor
I bought this razor to replace another Norelco. This one is not as “sleek” as my old Norelco, but works do much better. As I use this to shave my head, it is important to follow the contours of my head. This model actually accomplishes this better than the floating head model I had before. Additionally this model is so much easier to clean. It also comes with a head protector and a case.

Old is Better!
I have been Philips Norelco shaver user for over 50 years. Last year I bought the most expensive model which gave me a great shave, but I found that it pinched my skin between the floating heads. I sold it and bought a foil shaver. The shave was ok but it was too noisy and would "burn" my face. I saw that Philips had redesigned the 3800 shaver. I had a similar one back before I owned the expensive one last year. I just purchased it and can attest that the shave is good and no pinching. Sometimes the old design is better!

Great Shaver!
I've used a Norelco shaver for well over 20 years. My old one was getting quite annoying, taking forever to give me a clean shave and even then I had to touch up with a blade razor. I changed the cutting heads a couple times in the past year and got almost no improvement. So I decided to buy a new one. This model was the highest rated Norelco and number one or two in ratings by outside groups compared to other brands. They were right! I now shave in only a few minutes and get a very nice, close shave every time. Can't say enough good things about it. Looks almost the same as my old one, but is light years better. 100% satisfied!

A rare bargain.
Five stars in a second. It shaves close, has a pop-up trimmer, runs quietly, charges quickly, comes with a charging stand, head cover, and neat little travel case, and based on previous experience with the brand should last forever. It’s not much to look at, and just moves in 5 directions instead of 8, but for my money it’s a bargain.

The actual product
I saw a product which was an obvious Chinese knockdown of this product. Norelco has made these for a long time. It is why they are copied. They are copied because they work. I like it. I got this one, the original from Japan. Saving 2 bucks to get a cheaper copy did not appeal to me. It works well. Good buy, handy product, easy to use. Get the real thing, get a "Norelco" and see why it is the one by which others are measured.
