Wow! I honestly wasn’t expecting too much with this little light, but man... now I’m showing it to all my friends! If there was one word to sum up the pixel g1 it would be convenient. It is literally one of the best lights I’ve ever owned. Out of the box, this thing is hefty. It’s well built with a metal casing. It’s not too heavy, but definitely has a bit of weight to it. It definitely doesn’t feel like junk. It’s a little larger than my iPhone X, and comes woth a carrying pouch. It also comes with its own usb c charging cord. So, why did this thing wow me? Well for 70 bucks it does a lot! It has a built in dimmer switch, you can change the color temperature. But you can also change the colors and which is super convenient! No more buying gels for me. There are tons of different colors... so if you are shooting a film and need to accent an exit sign in the scene... you can change the color of the light to red and it’s so small you can hide the light from being seen. The light is also very bright. It’ll definitely light up a dark room! The LED’s are what help accomplish that. And because they are LED the light doesn’t get hot... which is good. But the one thing that really caught my eye... are the light Fx. One in specific... they have an effect that simulates the look of fire. Doing a scene where you need an actor looking at a roaring fire place in a cabin... or a shot of a homeless man huddled around a burning trash can ( too 80’s?) well this light is perfect. It flickers adding this cool fire effect. I use to accomplish this effect by having some one dim the light while simultaneously moving orange and yellow gels back and forth in front of the light. Not any more. The light also comes with a mount. That can unfold and unveil an extra shoe mount, being that this one will take up your camera’s mount, they give you one back... again... I know you are tired of hearing me say this but super CONVENIENT . The Led on the back is actually pretty nice, and navigating the buttons may take some time to explore and get use to... but after you know what everything is and what you can do with this you’ll get the hang of it. I’m at a film festival this weekend and I’ve been showing every film maker this light, and all of them are amazed! Atleast 3 of them bought it In front of me! It’s definitely one of amazons best kept secrets right now. For the price, it’s portable, bright and the battery lasts a long time. Definitely add this to your kit. Heck I might buy one more... maybe two more! Definitely perfect for news photogs, indie film makers, and event photographers!

I am a professional photographer who shoots weddings, but I also like to travel light on personal vacations without having to fear getting my gear stolen. So, I was on the lookout for a relatively inexpensive, compact light that could be used as fill light for photography and occasional videography. PROS - Decent battery capacity - Light is soft and is adjustable to fluorescent, daylight, etc temperatures --- Color temperature range is wider than most I had evaluated - USB-C rechargable (cable included) --- Fast-Charge capable (QC 3.0) - Can be mounted on a hot shoe (tripod/on-camera) - Fairly priced - Material feels solid and well-made - Light intensity can be adjusted - Red, Green, Blue (RGB) colors can be adjusted for a custom palette - Lighting effects is a nice plus to have that most light panels do NOT offer - VERY lightweight - 360-degree, rotating arm to extend hot-shoe use - Carry bag included - Hot-shoe adapter included CONS - Number of options/controls could be confusing for those who are only looking for a basic, LED light panel - Manual has some grammatical errors, but was easy to read I have to be honest. This light took me completely by surprise. At the price point, I did not expect much from it and thought that most of the features were gimmicks, but this light actually works VERY well. This device deserves a solid, 5 stars. Kudos, Pixel, on a well-made product!

This little light has so many great things going on for it! First of all it is IMMENSELY BRIGHT!! At 100% brightness output, it can easily light up a small room. Might even need some diffusion, as the small built in diffusion panels barely diffuse any light. The G1s also has a very convenient articulating arm, that rotates 360 degrees all the way around. It is fastened with a nut that can be tightened in case it loosens up too much with a small allen wrench. This RGB has the full RGB spectrum using the Hue and Saturation level inputs. Comes with 12 awesome lighting effects! The only small con with this mini RGB video light is that it gets a little hot to the touch if set at 8500K at a full 100% brightness. I didn't test out any other light output settings at 100% but I can only assume that it will also get hot at that level of brightness, whether at 2500K or any of the RGB hue settings at 100% brightness.

I can’t say enough good things about this. I was skeptical at first because I’ve had other video lights in the past that were built poorly, or not a very good experience to use. This one is the complete opposite of all of the cheaper lights I’ve bought in the past. Build quality is on par with what I would picture higher end video lights being. This thing is solidly built. Full metal, tight tolerances, the works. All of the knobs and buttons have a satisfying feel to them too. Nothing is loose, and the oled screen + usb-c is a nice touch that feels futureproof. As far as features go this took me a little bit to get used to. The middle button/knob controls 3 different banks of settings. The first is a standard video light with warm/cool transition. The second is picking any rgb color, and the third is for special effects. Things such as simulated lightning or a fake candle, stuff like that. Those little effects may seem dumb to professionals but for me they seem like they’ll come in handy as I explore the world of video and creativity. Not an every day type of feature, but a good thing to have in your back pocket. Maybe I’ve been quarantined for the coronavirus for too long, but I really am enjoying this impulse buy... it’s been a nice thing to have and feels like it’s unlocked some creativity in me :D I’ve even been using it as a warm dimmable light to read at night before I go to sleep.

I use this light with a webcam for video conferencing and streaming classes from my desk. I don’t use any other lights in the room. If it is dark outside, the rest of the room is not visible to the viewers: they see my face and shoulders suspended against black space. I kind of like the effect. In the daytime, the light from the windows shows the room, but my image in the foreground remains lit exactly the same as at night, with an even, naturally distributed glow. This is what you want if you broadcast from your desk. I placed the light close to the webcam and a little above and behind it, about three feet from my face. This is what this light is meant for. Don’t try to light a room with it! That is not what it is for. The multiple LEDs in this light are spread around over a large enough area so both sides of my face are lit equally. With a smaller lighting surface, you get the shadow of your nose appear on the left or on the right as you move while you speak. With this light that does not happen. Two other features make this a perfect light for my purpose: the brightness knob and the color temperature knob. I can stretch my arm and adjust them without substantially changing my position, even while I speak. Similar adjustments can be made with a webcam settings control panel if you have one. But messing with settings while you speak or listen and think about your content and delivery is impossible. Twisting a physical knob is very easy. The light can be run off its battery, but I connected the charging table to the wall outlet, and it always runs off the AC. The only thing I wish the designers could improve is the on-off switch: it is a slider, small and a little tight, so you really have to hold the light with one hand while using a finger of the other hand to slide the little thing. Not a deal breaker, since I never need to use the switch during the broadcast. But a toggle would be easier to use than a slider.

To start off, I've been using lighting equipment and video cameras for about 10 years now! Im surprised how far technology has come to where this little unit can hold its own to some of my older, bigger studio lights! Right out the box, you may need to charge your unit as I did with mine (it had no juice which isn't a problem) and I charged it via USB C which took about an hour and a half to fully charge. There is a cable included in the packaging but I have plenty of these type C laying around so I used my own. The reason this product was so attractive to me is I was looking for a portable RGB light at the right price. I technically have RGB smart bulbs in the studio but they must be connected to wifi and you have to use a specific app, its a bit much! This light provides that function internally, NO APP NEEDED (thank you very much) and is compact enough that you can take it everywhere and place it anywhere thanks to the built in battery! (For size reference, if you look at the photos I provided, I am holding the unit in my hand and I would say I have an average hand size when compared to most) This light has a range of brightness settings and functions that are easy to maneuver with using the dials on the right side of it and you know exactly what settings your changing with the built it LCD screen. Anywho, I feel this light can be a part of anyone's loadout whether your strictly a photographer or you primarily do video work, or even a combination of the two. I am extremely happy with this unit and maybe be picking up another one in the near future! P.S. I swear I wasn't paid to talk good about this product, I just get excited when I get new gear and this little yet powerful unit performed above and beyond!!

WOW. This is simply the best light you can buy. It is portable. It is bright. It is dimmable. You can change the colors. It can fade between colors. I love this light. I own a video marketing and production company, so I have lights that cost $300, $500, $1000, $2000+ and this light that costs significantly less than $100 is better than many of my lights that costed 5-10x as much. I love that it has a built in battery and it is charged via USBC...so you can buy a cheap USBC portable battery and now you have yourself a completely portable video light that you can put anywhere and use for a longer time than the internal battery. The RGB color and effect features are awesome. Adding colored light to backgrounds really takes thing to the next level and makes for great wall uplighting. The only thing I wish was different was that it stayed on the same setting when you turn it off and then back on again. It does save the color that you were on, so you just have to switch it from the tungsten/daylight mode to the RGB colored mode. I greatly recommend this light. Go buy yourself one or two of these now.

I was looking for compact LED light for photography, I was pleasantly surprised by the Pixel G1s RGB Video Light. It is a good size with many lighting options (RGB and lighting effect for video). I am using this light for small product shoots so that I don't have to setup the studio lighting. The swing arm is very useful to allow the light to be swiveled 360° , the arm also has a mount for a hot shoe and 1/4" thread mounts to attach mic or to attach to a tripod or light stand. I am quite satisfied with it and will be purchasing 2 more. Pros: - Well priced - Compact and portable - Sturdy Construction - Multiple mounting points - White and RGB light - Variable brightness levels (1-100) - Variable lighting temps (2500k - 8500k) - User settable RBG value - Multiple lighting effects - Good battery life - USB C port for charging (cable included) - Includes hotshoe adapter Cons - Display screen is small - Charge time took a little longer than expected (very minor issue)

Includes 1 soft carrying case for the device, comes with a mount that screws onto a 1/4inch mount, USB Cabel C, and the Pixel G1s. This RGB Video Light Phenomal so far! It's a very thin and low profile. It's very versatile for my needs. It comes with the DSLR stand so you can connect it to your DSLR/mirrorless camera on the hot shoe mount. The 2500k-8500k it's very great for your money. At 2500k it's very Warm and 8500k its a very ICY COOL white. Using the RGB colors is amazing, it's very easy to use with all the colors that you possibly need. I haven't really messed around with the different settings it offered yet, but I wouldn't doubt they would be impressive. I'm glad it's able to charge by USB-C because with my MacBook they both charge USB-C. Also, this can stand as a portable charger for anything if you have the right cable. There are 150 Individual LEDs, 40 of them are WHITE Lights, 40 of them are WARM lights, and 70 of them are RGB Lights. These lights at 100% shine at 1500 Lumens. At full brightness and charge, it can last to 2 1/2 - 3 hours. But if you have it at 50% brightness it can last 5+ hours! It does take 2 hours to charge the device from 0-100%. I highly recommend this device for the money! Very easy to use and the battery is long-lasting with the build quilty is premium. Id like to get more of these before the price goes up!

If you every need a very flexible light, look in to this light. It's amazing for the price. What I like: 1. Solid. It's made of aluminum and feels very solid and is reassuringly heavy. 2. Built in battery. I've not ran out of charge on any single use. But if you do, it will power with USB-c. 3. Nice, sturdy mounting arm. 4. Very bright for the size What I don't like 1. Color temp is a bit off than indicated 2. Though there's only a couple of wheels and buttons for control, I need the manual to figure it out. Possibly just me. But I'll lose the manual one day and forget how to work this thing. Overall, I paid $59 for this and can't imagine a better light.
