Purchased this for my son, didn't want him using razors due to bacteria, infections, acne, and just not worth the problems associated with razors. It was a Christmas present, a long waited for gift, because I had to double check whether it was the right choice and price. Answer: Yes. He likes it, says it works, doesn't pull or cut his skin, easy to clean, easy to use, and he can finally keep his fast growing side burns from getting out of control. All in all glad I got it for him.

I always find it interesting how the reviews on products around here can be so varied. You'll have one person who says the product is one of the best things that ever happened to them. Another person will say that they were almost attacked by the darn product and it made them bleed, and that it's absolutely horrible! I'm a straight shooter, black and white kind of guy. I don't have time to play games. I just want a razor that works. Last night I decided to buy a razor and wanted a razor immediately (that's why you don't see me as a verified purchaser here). I went to the Walmart a mile from my house. About the same price as here - $50.00. And I bought this 3100 series razor. My previous razor was a Norelco 7310XL. This razor works well. It gives you a nice clean close-cut shave without any hassle. It's washable (not to be confused with being able to use it in the shower). And if you recharge it for several hours, you'll be able to use it cord-less style for up to 45 minutes too. If being able to use it in the shower, and having it charge faster are higher priorities to you, for a few bucks more (less than $10 more) you can buy the 3500 series razor. Those are not high priorities to me, and so I went with the 3100. Buy new blades every 6 months (I get 'em auto-sent to me by Amazon) and clean out your razor on a regular basis and it'll last you for awhile!

Best electric shaver I've ever owned. This shaver doesn't make a loud sound and gives a close and thorough shave, leaving little to no stubble and keeps your face smooth. (Everyone has different skin and facial hair, so results may vary. I still have very little stubble on my neck area, but incredibly smooth everywhere else). The description boasts a 45 minute battery life, but I found that the battery lasts much longer. I'm the two months that I've had this electric shaver, I've only charged it once, and that's with me using it for at least 3-4 minutes per day. I've used other electric shavers before, like Remington. They all work pretty well, but this is my favorite one yet and seems to work better. Definitely worth it.

First of all I do not really like to write review or ratings but I am so satisfied and love this product. I was skeptical about it at first because I have a very sensitive skin. I decided not to use regular razors anymore since they make me break out after I shave. So I wanted something that is easy on my skin. Before I made the purchase this one, I have read most of the reviews that people wrote on Amazon which are good ones. So I bought it. I was kinda surprised since it came after just 2 days after even though it said about a week or so. It is really easy on my SENSITIVE skin and smooth and..just Amazing. I just love it. I hope this review will help people who wanna look for a great product and are not so sure just like I was.

I'm an industrial designer, so I appreciate attention to design detail. This replaced an older, higher-end Norelco because this was priced only a little more than new blades for the older model. It is just as hard to keep clean as most shavers of this type, requiring regular complete disassembly of the heads and careful brushing, but this model has two small features that make for MUCH improved usability. (1) The protective cap fits tightly enough so it isn't always falling off in a drawer or case, and (2) the shaver continues to operate while plugged in and charging. The latter is a biggy when you are in a hurry and discover you forgot to recharge.

This is a great electric shaver. So far, it has been working very well for over a month. The actual duration of a single charge is about 13-14 days, at about 3 minutes shaving time per day. One can start feeling the "Lithium-ion" battery being low on juice at about 9-10 days, but motor still running strong until it suddenly stops at 13-14 days. Some people might have issues regarding durability of rechargeable batteries, but from my experience, one has to fully charge the shaver from the beginning and run it until it is completely out of juice/stops. Then recharge it again to full and do the same thing a 2nd time. Afterwards, just recharge once a week to keep the motor running at optimum. Do the complete battery drain about once every 2 or 3 months to keep the "Lithium-ion" battery fresh and to keep it at long life, this goes for most rechargeable batteries (cellphones...). Also, to keep shaver in top condition, rinse it in hot or warm water about once every 2 weeks (or when you are ready to recharge it). Let it dry and recharge it. I've always used Norelco (now Philips Norelco) since when I first started shaving. After my 2nd Norelco stopped working after 10 years, I decided to try Braun Series 3 shaver. It was not a good idea, returned the Braun shaver after 2 weeks. I purchased this Philips Norelco 3100, found out that it is Made in Netherlands (my 1st shaver was also made there from Norelco, lasted over a decade) and was delighted! So far so good here. Update: To clarify, I do have to make 2 to 3 passes to have a clean shave with this Philips Norelco shaver, but at least the head piece doesn't fall off like the one from Braun. That might be the major flaw with Braun which made my decision to return to Norelco easy.

Well, I took the 3-week challenge that Philips recommends. I was replacing a Norelco model 8240XL that I had for years, and liked. The shave at first was not very close and it tended to pull hairs a bit rather than cut them cleanly. That left both stubble and irritation -- bummer. But, at the 3+ week mark the blades seem to have honed in and the shave is just as close as the 8240 with no pulling or irritation.

It is easy to see why this shaver is rated so highly. Don't bother looking for this elsewhere. Buy it on Amazon. Why? Because It is sold out everywhere I looked. I have never had a closer shave. And the motor sounds twice as powerful as other shavers I have used. Nicely designed and feels very comfortable in the hand. No wonder it is so popular. Easily beats out other Norelco shavers at half the price!

I have had a Philips Norelco shaver before, albeit many years ago. As I remember it was an okay shaver, but not outstanding and therefore tried several other brands since. This time I choose the 3100 because sometimes I forget to charge the shaver and with this model I don’t have to worry since it can be used cordless or corded, a feature I really like. I often have a few days growth when I shave and with other shavers both disposable and powered, they often pull, and therefore not the most comfortable shave. Upon receiving the new 3100 I had about 2/3-day of stubble. After charging the shaver proceeded to shave. To my pleasant surprise the shave was smooth and comfortable, not even one occurrence of grabbing or pulling. So, if this continues I think I am really going to enjoy the Model 3100 Phillips Norelco. As of this first trial I can recommend the 3100, if things change, I will try to update this review. Another thing I prefer about the 3100 is the pop-up trimmer rather than the detachable style that is use on the more advanced models.

Bought this to replace a Norelco that I've been using for maybe the last 10 years or more. Very similar to the old one - cuts well, comfortable, feels good in the hand. I like that you can use this as a corded or rechargeable unit. Great convenient when traveling
