New EDC for my Pocket Knives

So i did not go the conventional way with this knife holder instead i used it for all my pocket knives. Mounted this next to my EDC wall which all my every day carry accessories. looks perfect. was great for the price and the fact that its real wood too makes a great addition.

15 inch Natural Walnut Wood Magnetic Knife Holder for Wall Mounting

I received this product in exchange for my honest review as part of the Amazon Vine Program. Seller VaeFae lists this as "VaeFae Walnut Magnetic Knife Strip, Powerful Magnetic Wood Knife Holder for Wall, 15" ". This is an attractive natural Walnut Wood magnetic 15 inch knife bar with the strong magnets hidden within the wood bar. Picture 1 shows the bar, provided screws and anchors with 2 provided small tubes of mounting CA adhesive, and an instruction sheet. Picture 2 shows the Walnut knife strip's ability to easily and securely hold a large chef's knife and a round cross section sharpening steel. This bar will hold firmly the steel which is rod shaped and doesn't give the magnet much contact area - I was impressed it held so well to this awkward shaped but common kitchen item. One concern is that if only screws and anchors are used for mounting the holder to the wall, the 2 rear cutout keyhole slots to hold the screw heads may fail. Picture 3 shows one bar rear side keyhole cutout for the screw head to fit into. The screw heads could easily tear through the thin keyhole cutout portion of the wood bar they slide into. As you pull a knife off the front of the holder, the rear wood may fail because of the force your pull puts onto the rear bar wood keyhole by the screw heads. I strongly recommend using the adhesive after you have put the screws and anchors where you want them and made sure the bar fits flush onto the wall over the slightly protruding screw heads and is level. Then take off the bar from the mounted screws and apply the adhesive before remounting the bar. Put a horizontal bead/line of the glue on the lower rear of the wood bar between the circular keyholes that the screw head fits into so that when you remount it the glue is spread on the wall and bar below sight. This will make the install much safer and help prevent tearout and possible injury from a failed wood screw keyhole mount which would allow a bar holder full of sharp knives to fall or move unexpectedly. Again, DON'T use the bar without using the glue to help mount it. The Instructions for using glue give it as a "Second Method". I believe strongly that glue use is mandatory, not an option. Also note that the provided glue is Cyanoacrylate (CA) glue which bonds skin instantly so use gloves and appropriate precautions for "crazyglue" CA glue. Conclusion: A beautifully finished Walnut Wood Magnetic Knife Holder. If properly mounted using the provided CA glue, it should provide many safe, useful years service. A plus is that the wood of the bar won't damage the fine, sharp edges of your knives as a stainless steel bar might.

It WORKS!

I ordered this to organize my jeweler’s tools above my work area (no, I didn’t think of it, I copied the idea from a fabulous bead artist mentor). This thing holds just about anything with iron or steel in it (including my watch band!), it just grabs it and hold on. The string magnetic bar is INSIDE the walnut wood (which appears to be the real deal), so the face of the bar looks like wood, but these metal tools and blades stick right to it. Pretty sneaky, very cool and nicely executed. There were not only instructions on the box, but also included in the box. The translated instructions actually made me burst out laughing. The do get the general idea across, but are super funny. Yes, made in China. I’m looking to affix the bar to my wall with heavy duty Velcro rather than anchor bolts, but we’ll see.

Good aesthetics

I love this magnetic knife holder bar. First of all, it has good aesthetics. My first bar holder shows the metal and can get dirty. This only shows the wood grain surface and it is easy to wipe clean. It is powerful to hold all my knives. Easy to install too.
