As a person with a normal job that doesn't professionally write reviews, I felt compelled to write one about this soundbar. First and foremost, it's frustrating that this Amazon product page conflates the reviews of the Q60, the Q70 and the Q800 (not 80? seriously, what's with Samsung's marketing division?). So all the ratings are all clumped together. A bunch of reviews complain about bass not being strong enough and that had me somewhat concerned initially, for example. As it turns out, I own a home with a decent if not huge living room (bigger than my previous apartments, however) and I get adequate bass from the Q70t and sub-woofer (for non experts, placement of the sub-woofer matters - ideally in a corner so the bass can reverberate off the walls - one potential issue), but the Q60 might not have sufficient bass. Can't comment on the Q800 obviously. So on with the review with the caveat of the product commingling out of the way. I'm very satisfied with this soundbar for this pricepoint. The sound is really crisp and clear. I considered the quality to be much better than I was expecting. Atmos programs enjoy decent surround simulation in my opinion. I don't think anything really can truly replace physically displaced speakers in 5.1+ but this soundbar does an adequate job in lieu of spatially located separate speakers. I do occasionally look behind me for a noise and then remember this soundbar has surround capabilities. If you really get into having a home theater, nothing's going to beat a true surround system, but for the price and lack of cables this is a really appealing option. For perspective, I had a $100 soundbar and the difference in quality is both stark and drastic. Important things to note if you want to get the most of these soundbars, make sure not to place it on top of a surface, unobstructed to the ceiling. Placing in on the middle shelf of a media cabinet will be extremely counterproductive to the surround emulation. Also, perform a firmware update. Before doing so, I had to turn off the soundbar any time I either switched audio modes (not apps) so if I was watching a netflix show with Atmos encoding and then went to a different show within Netflix that didn't, I'd have to restart the soundbar for it to play again. All sorts of quirky behavior was solved via that update, it's truly essential. In short, if you're looking for a reasonably priced, good-quality soundbar, I'm personally quite happy with mine and recommend it for others!

This soundbar was a replacement for my HW-R650 which I ended up giving to my parents and I have it hooked up to my 2019 Q60R TV set. Does a well enough job with everything including processing Atmos (opening race scene from Ready Player One in 4K will blow you away). Now don't go thinking this is gonna be a full theater experience but does a damn close & decent job. One hint for my fellow Xbox One X users if you're connecting through the bar to tv make sure you turn off Freesync as I noticed issues when trying to play Gears 5. You still get full 4K, HDR even game enhancer but again no Freesync. Other than that everything else is flawless with the soundbar. Considering getting the rear speaker kit upgrade to complete the experience. Only had for a few days but so far so good. Will update if anything changes.

Setup was incredibly easy, connecting to a Samsung Q70 Smart TV. In under 20 minutes, I was connected to the Samsung SmartThings app, Spotify, and my Apple TV. This soundbar switches through all sources without any kind of annoying glitches or sound dropouts like I've experienced in the past with other soundbar brands. This subwoofer utilizes an 8" woofer, which definitely makes the bottom end full, without being too overpowering. The soundbar and sub sound fantastic with not only movies, but with music. I was actually surprised when I linked up to Spotify and streamed some songs from my iPhone. Very loud, clear, and with hefty bottom end that does not sound flabby or exaggerated. I've been waiting for the HW-Q800T to hit the market for a couple of months now, and it was certainly worth the wait.

Ok this thing goes great with the new tv. Don't pay attention to people saying that it's not loud enough or not enough bass, this thing blasts and the quality is better than a whole surround system in a huge room. I'm very impressed and I love it thanks

I find this system to work great for the size of living room in my house. It replaced an inferior soundbar & an out of the box Sony 5.1 surround sound system before that. This provides some good depth of sound while not muddling voices. I'm pretty happy with the amount of bass it provides. I wouldn't say it provides the most thump but I also don't want to knock the paintings off the walls. I wish I could experience/hear what the negative reviews state & wonder what the setup is... Or wonder how much bass individuals are seeking. I'm running this soundbar with a 4 year old Samsung smart TV. I ultimately wanted a soundbar that would seamlessly integrate with the TV & not worry about juggling multiple remotes. So it meets my immediate needs. Yes, there are definitely better systems out there but for the price ($400ish/on sale), ease of setup & hassle free operation, I'm beyond satisfied. To be fair, if I paid full retail price for this, then I would probably be expecting more - so price point was a huge selling factor for me.

With my previous, cheaper sound bar I was having problems hearing the dialog in certain movies. This sound bar has a center speaker which is dedicated to dialog only. It really helps. But the quality of the sound is also much greater. Lastly, this sound bar as speakers on its top which cause a really nice "surround sound" effect. It was super easy to setup. Since my TV is made by LG, I did worry a bit that there might be some problems with using a Samsung sound bar. But there have been none whatsoever. It works perfectly with my LG TV. I can also control the volume using my LG remote which is really nice. I only used the Samsung remote once, to set the sound bar to use the "surround sound" settings. Now I no longer need to use the Samsung remote. The "surround sound" setting works great for everything. I'm very happy with this sound bar.

Incredible quality improvements over my previous soundbar (VIZIO SB4051). I try to believe that my ears can discern the marketing buzzword features, but if I'm being real it all just sounds "good". I don't have the perfect setup to get the right wall bouncy surround action, despite that I like and recommend. HDMI passthru features work like a charm. Remote nice and simple. Basic but attractive design.

1. Sound quality is very good with room filling soundstage 2. Supports eArc and all popular audio codecs including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3. Can be controlled with Samsung SmartThings app 4. Ample bass from the dedicated subwoofer

I questioned why buy a SAMSUNG sound bar complimenting my newly purchased SAMSUNG TV when it almost cost just as much?... it’s because it’s GREAT! It works seamlessly with the newest technology.

HW-Q950T: Great speakers for my QLED TV. Had some setup trouble. I had put the left and right rear speakers on the wrong side. Best I can tell, they do not label left and right. Now it sounds great.
