This works good for a small enclosed area like a walk-in closet or bathroom, other than that you need a big one which are MUCH more efficient for larger areas (but also upwards of $180 at time of this post). For comparison, the water shown collected in this unit took a full week, and is only about 24oz whereas the big 35 liter dehumidifier pulled that much moisture out of the air in just a couple of hours! The cons to a bigger unit is much louder, much bigger footprint, more expensive to run and to purchase. In conclusion, I think these little humidifiers are expensive for what they are, but they are all in currently in that $40 price range, and this works as well as any in that range. I guess they are better than nothing. Just wish they were about $15 cheaper. If you are going to purchase a dehumidifier of this size, then get one that is attractive for you. I think this one is nice looking and the blue light is subtle, and not overwhelming at all. Works perfect for the bathroom at night.

What do boots, belts, bags, and benches have in common? They get moldy in my finished basement. After years of using a large dehumidifier seemingly powered by a jet engine, my wife and I decided we actually quite enjoy peaceful sleep. Enter the LONOVE Dehumidifier. What I LOVE: This thing is QUIET (funny time to use caps, I know.) In fact, I just went into the bedroom to turn it on, only to find it had already been running. My rather stealthy desktop computer makes a comparable amount of noise. Ease of use. There's one button. While this may not have a large array of customizable options, it makes up for it with how smooth it is to setup. Plug it in, push the power button, and wait. Then remove the tray, dump, replace tray, and repeat. What I don't love: Honestly nothing so far. I'll update my review with any odd things that happen, but to this point it's been exactly what we expected. Just don't purchase it to dehumidify your 2400 square foot house. Would purchase again!

I like that’s its small and easy to empty. It’s really quiet. It’s in an area in my basement that I use as a library and it has a damp smell. I plugged the device in and the next morning there was already water in the holder. I am happy with the performance.

This is quiet and bot does the work!!! Love how easy it is and great it is to use. It also helps with the smells of the basement!

This dehumidifier works!! Some background. I did my research and then decided to buy three different dehumidifiers, all approximately the exact, same size and price. I tried them all out for one week, side-by-side (in order to be sure I was comparing them under the same conditions), and then I measured (in a separate measuring cup) the results of each. One of the three brands was horrible, producing ±½ the amount of water of the other two after one week. The remaining two models were very close in terms of the amount of water collected, but, the difference was minute. However, what tipped the scale in favor of the Lonove brand, was the very low (stated but not measured by me) energy consumption, which is the lowest of all three brands tested. I, of course, have no way of verifying that fact. But, even if it's the same as the other "equal" brand I tested for water accumulation, I can live with my decision--so much so, that I immediately purchased a second one when I noticed the price had dropped a bit. (By the way, because I know it's a concern to many people), all three brands seem to produce about the same level of noise, which was barely audible unless you're in the same room.) I was clearly impressed! P.S.--The middle category of "star ratings" is "stretch," which I have no idea what that refers to for a dehumidifier of this sort, which is why I only gave it a 4 out of 5.

Amazon's product title, Amazon's product description, and manufacturer's product manual list 3 conflicting numbers for intended square feet (i.e. 220, 190, and 165 respectively). I emailed the customer service address included with the product who promptly clarified: "165 sq. ft is the most effective usable area we recommend; And 220 sq. ft is the largest usable area." They also provided a PDF copy of the manual which was appreciated. Regardless, I'm currently using the dehumidifier in a larger 392 sq. ft. studio apartment but I'm only looking for minimal effect as I know my plants appreciate some humidity. I'd probably get a second small quiet unit before I purchased a larger one if it was going to make more noise.

This works for exactly what I needed it to. We have a large, expensive dehumidifier in our basement, but wanted something small that we could move from room to room when it gets humid in the main living spaces. These little things do the trick. It takes several days for the tank to fill and need to be emptied, which is nice. It doesn't dry the air so fast that it's problematic, but it does it slowly and gradually and helps with the steamy feel in individual rooms.

I am not sure what the people who left 1-star reviews were looking for, but I think this little dehumidifier is great. I have been very happy with it. It's the right size to put on my nightstand and it's pretty quiet so I don't hear the loud whirring of a fan when I am trying to sleep. I know others were angry about the amount of water that it draws is very little at a time, which is true, but this is a small dehumidifier, it's not going to draw a lot of water from the air. So if that's what they were looking for, it's no wonder they were disappointed. However, it's been suiting needs just fine.

I had some damage to my hardwood floors because of a water leak. The wood had buckled in a small area and someone lent me an air blower which seemed to do nothing. Then I read about a dehumidifier being helpful for that. It was just in one room (15 x 12) so I was looking for something small. Bought this unit and I was really surprised at how much water it took out of the room. It did seem to help the hardwood although that may just need to be replaced. It definitely stopped it from getting worse. It would pull about 50cc of water out of the room/day. And it's super quiet. I mean, if the blue light wasn't on you wouldn't even know it was on. I recommend this for anyone needing to extract excess humidity .

The dehumidifier works great and is very quiet. I recently moved back to the Midwest from Nevada where we have little to xero humidity. I bought 2 of these for my 900 sq ft 2 bedroom apartment. I am able to deal better with the humidity, at least in my home, considering my asthma and allergies.
