I have this exact model from a different brand and it’s great. Because the Gocheer says it’s “upgraded,” I wanted to see if there were any improvements over the other model. Turns out not really, because the “upgrade” is in relation to energy savings over larger compressor dehumidifiers. In any case, the Gocheer drew in 7 ounces of water from a 250 foot area in 12 hours, versus the other model drawing in 6.76 ounces of water from a 100 foot area. The tank on the Gocheer is a lighter blue color which does make it easier to see the water inside it. Other than that, they both have a low range hum when working. If the unit is going to be in the same room as you, and there are no other ambient sounds, you will hear the kerplunk of water dropping into the tank.

I ordered the Gocheer and the Luby Small Dehumidifier (White 2200 Cubic Feet (250 sq ft), Portable Auto Shut Off Ultra Quiet), planning to keep the one that functioned the best and ran most quietly. The Gocheer won hands down. I ran both units in the same two rooms for 24 hours, placed about 10 feet apart from each other. Here were the results: The Gocheer cleared about 375 ml of water (just over 1 1/2 cups). The Luby cleared about 250 ml of water (about 1 1/8 cups). Given that they cost the same, I returned the Luby. Both units are audible but quiet, and once I adjusted to the noise level (like a white noise machine), I slept with each of them in the bedroom with no problem. The Luby has a clunkier, more child-friendly design in my opinion. The Gocheer is narrower and more upright, and has a sleeker appearance. The only benefit of the Luby is that you can easily see the water tank from the front of the unit. The Gocheer hides the water tank in the back, and you have to get very close to the unit to see the water fill level. However, I prefer the Gocheer overall, and it seems to draw more efficiently as well.

I thought this product was useless, but I didn't expect it to have a lot of water in its water storage box after one day of use. I put it in the toilet because my toilet has a high humidity. It has been found that there is no moisture phenomenon for a few days. It really works.

This makes my summer much better. The place I rent is perfect other than does not have enough sunshine during the day especially summer so the humidity level has been pretty high through the whole summer. I had a huge dehumidifier before which is also loud while working. This one I can tell after first day use has much higher efficiency and is quite too. I highly recommend whoever needs a better efficiency dehumidifier.

We have struggled with moisture in our small bathroom for years—we keep the door closed any time we aren’t in there to keep our cats out, which means humidity from showers etc tends to get trapped in the space. This dehumidifier has made a huge difference. It’s small enough to sit on our counter without being in the way, and while you can hear the fan running it’s not obnoxiously loud.Overall very good, recommended to buy!

This thing rocks! It's 90 something degrees and pretty humid outside I have two window air conditioners and it's beautiful, cool and dry in here. I only pluged this thing in and turned it on this morning. Every now and again you hear a trickling noise. That's to be expected. The water has to go into the reservoir and water hitting water makes a little noise. the cord is quite long which is really good. I'm in an olde brownstone in Boston and there are not as many outlets as more modern residential buildings. In regard to noise, it's just a slight motor hum that you don't even notice. I definitely give this a thumbs up.

I've been using this dehumidifier for over 2 months. So far it's working well. I bought it for a small rental apartment I'm renovating, and there was a mold problem due to a lack of working air conditioning in florida. We scrubbed the mold down with bleach, and I put out the dehumidifier, and we have not seen any further problems. The unit is just over 600 square feet. In the hot months I had to empty it 2 to 3 days, as a lot of moisture was in the air. Now that it's December there is less moisture and we are emptying it about once a week. The unit is quiet and unobtrusive. I would definitely buy another one in the future if needed.

I've purchased 3 of these in the past couple of months, a testament to how pleased I am with the product. It has cut down on the amount of Vacplus that I have to purchase. I live in a tropical climate. I have one in the master bedroom, second bedroom, and living/dining room area. I usually have to empty the ones in the bedrooms every two days. This is one of the downfalls, however I would not want anything bigger. It is not loud, but you will hear it. It sounds like a fan and sometimes you can hear the water fall. The second downfall is that the red light that indicates the unit is full stopped working about a 1.5 after I purchased it. It does not keep filling up but the light is nice. I haven't decided if returning it for another is worth it. Overall, I'm happy.

I had some problems with excessive moisture/mildew in my bedroom after a leak in the ceiling. I bought this dehumidifier almost a month ago and have used it every night since. It works great, and is very quiet. Setup is quick and easy and emptying the water tank is as simple as sliding it out and dumping the water. You can also easily tell how much water is in the holding tank without pulling it out. It does have a blue light on the top that glows when the power is on, but it's very faint, and if it really bothered someone it would be easy to cover up with some electrical tape. Doesn't use a great deal of electricity either.

This is an amazing dehumidifier. We have never purchased one before. Our basement always had a musty smell and we could not get rid of it at all. We decided to purchase a dehumidifier and this is the one we selected. We were not disappointed. This literally eliminated the odor overnight. This is what we loved most about the unit. We could see the water collecting in the unit and couldn’t believe it solved our problems. We have been using it for many months and it has not failed us. This is a wonderful unit and covers quite a large area. We’re using in in 200sq ft area right now. It’s awesome. You will be very pleased with this purchase.
