Best food thermometer, hands down!

There is plenty to be said about this but I'll lead with this. If you've ever dropped your meat or candy or bread thermometer in food, say soup, you know how amazing it is to have one that is waterproof and can withstand the heat! And if you've ever felt uneasy about cleaning yours after use knowing you can't use water or anything corrosive, you might have felt as frustrated as I have. This waterproofing thing is a game-changer! Add to that that it is wonderfully accurate, it starts working when you pull the probe, which is long, you can toggle between temperature units so easily, you can summon the backlit option at any time, and most importantly, you can hold the temperature so that it stops measuring after you remove it from the peace of food you had it in in order to see that temperature clearly. Whoever came up with this has done their share of cooking and baking and certainly knew what he was doing. It and some other meat/baking thermometers I just got immediately replaced some higher-priced and far less capable ones in my kitchen and I highly recommend this!

Great Product!

I am extremely happy with my new Saferell Digital Thermometer! Much to my surprise, when I unpackaged the thermometer there was a card included that stated if I review this product, I will get a free gift and could pick from one of the two gifts shown on the card. The packaging also included a Meat Temperature Chart for Cooking…nice. The thermometer itself came in a box in with custom foam liner surrounding the thermometer. For such a moderately priced item they did not skimp on the packaging. It also came with an extra battery! The handle of the thermometer is ergonomically designed and fits well in the hand. The silver face of the handle is imprinted with meat cooking temperatures and the temperature range of the thermometer. The handle itself is plastic. It has a large window that indicates the temperature. There are also three buttons on the handle. One button turns on the widow temperature light that is good for evening barbeque sessions. The larger middle button “holds’ the temperature when you take it if so desired. The last button allows you to switch between Fahrenheit and Centigrade. The metal probe is 4.5 inches long and conveniently folds into the handle when not in use. Unfolding the probe automatically turns it on. Folding it turns it off. It also shuts off automatically when not used after a few moments. It does this regardless of whether the probe is folded or not. As far as I can tell the temperature readings are accurate. When I turn it on in the house it accurately matches the temperature of my room thermostat. So, if you are in the market for a digital thermometer at a very reasonable price point you cannot go wrong with a Saferell Digital Thermometer!

Works perfectly

This was super easy to use and it was even easier to read as well. It is very accurate and it battery life on it last a long time as well.

Simple and Great

So tired of tiny probes that are hard to read and never sure they are accurate. This proved amazingly accurate as I tried it when testing food cooking in my air fryer. Convenient to store and will be used daily as I am a person who likes to know that food is definitely cooked to a safe temperature and no more over done dried out steaks etc. I would buy this again and will as at this price it will make a great stocking stuffer for my children and grand daughters!!!

I like this gadget

I'm a good cook in general. We Cook a lot at home. And now, in this quarantine time, schooling from home/working from home, especially. I'm always keeping my eyes open for new kitchen tools and gadgets. Our kitchen doesn't need ton of those, but whatever I have i pic throughly and make sure it serves me well and last for long. And If it doesn't, it goes right back to the producer with a user note. So, this thermometer so far ve been a good help to my cooking routine. I own it for about 3 weeks now. I don't know how much u can ask for from cooking thermometer, but this one is good, it's pretty occurred on temp! I was a bit confuse at first, cause it doesn't have on/off bottom, it's just goes on once u pull Thermo needle out and stays on untill u roll it back. But got used to it pretty quick. I like that it can HOLD the temperature at certain moment I want it to hold. Especially applied for deep ovens, when I'm reaching out to the center of the tray, but I cant get too close to see temp cause oven is too hot. I just press HOLD button and it keeps the number fixed for me. It Has Light option, which I actually find useful just to see clear and sharp what numbers it shows me. It works from little battery, if anyone wonders. But it totally survived washing in the sink. For new cooks there is fun mark right on the tip with temp reccomendations for different types of meet. Its pretty helpful for ppl who new to cooking or just do it occasionally. So, overal, useful home kitchen tool. For all levels.

What's not to like?

There are 8 reasons I like this thermometer and why I recommend it. 1. It's simple; out of the box, no instructions necessary, easy to operate. 2. Automatic on. Great idea. No on/off switch to identify and use. Makes good sense; if I pulled open the probe of course I want to read a temperature. Operating an on/off switch makes for an unnecessary step. 3. Auto off after 10 minutes to prolong battery life. 4. Probe has a very slender diameter for about the first 3/4". I think it makes it easier to insert. 5. LARGE characters in the display (big plus for me). Easy to read. Backlight is an asset too. 6. Fits well in the hand. 7. Easy to keep handy. Just slap it on the fridge to keep from searching a busy counter or a drawer. 8. Can't say I've ever purchased an item that needs a battery to ship with a spare battery. Not a big deal but perhaps it bespeaks of the customer service I might receive if needed. I think they did everything right in the design of this thermometer. Well done (pun intended)!

Quick and easy to read thermometer

Review for Safrell Easy To Read Digital Meat Thermometer: When I originally saw this thermometer in Amazon, it was priced at $9.98, but I waited about a week to place the order and by then the price jumped up to $12.68. I was able to use a coupon with the order for $1.20 off, making the total $11.48 plus tax. This digital thermometer is easy to read and quick to give a temperature reading, especially on checking hot foods. Checking the temperature on my skin took a little longer 😊 (3 to 5 seconds vs. 10 to 15 seconds). The product turns on a soon as the wand is pulled out of the housing unit. It also goes to sleep after a few minutes of unuse. It can be awakened again by pushing a button or moving the wand slightly. It has a magnet on the back of the thermometer making it easy to store on my fridge or on the grill outside while grilling. Have owned the thermometer for about a month.

Durable and easy to use!

I had bought another thermometer toting a “lifetime warranty”, but when it broke, no warranty existed. I couldnt wait any longer and needed this reasonably priced thermometer. Well it hasn’t disappointed!! When I opened the box, there was instructions, an extra battery, and velcro dots so that should you like to attach it to a non magnetic surface! It worked great right out of the box, and I love that as soon as you flip the probe open it turns on, and when you fold it down it shuts off! So simple and accurate! Speaking of accuracy, I decided to test this against other thermometers I have, as well as current air temp checked with my thermostat. Perfect! There are instructions for calibrating as well. And as a side note, I was using this at the grill, and accidentally sent it flying across the concrete patio! I was worried when I picked it up, but it was just fine with a little scuff mark! It feels very sturdy and long lasting in hand, and overall, I’m very happy with this purchase! The price is half as much I’ve paid for others, and I am hoping it will be a long lasting thermometer with the extra battery, which by the way, looks like it may be a watch battery!

Quick response, large numbers, auto power off

I was very pleased with this thermometer. Out of the box, it just works. You flip open the temperature probe, and the screen turns on and begins giving readings that update quickly when exposed to hot or cold items. I placed the tip in a glass of ice water and quickly saw a temp measured right around 32 degrees, as expected. The screen and numbers are large and easy to read, but if you need backlighting, that's just one button press to turn on. Once you fold it back up, the screen automatically turns back off. The casing makes it comfortable to hold, and it has a nice brushed aluminum looking finish on the side. The unit also comes with an extra battery, velcro dots if you want to affix it to something, and a temperature guide for various meats. Finally, the case is also magnetic, so you can attach it to your grill, fridge, range hood, etc.

They thought of everything

This really is the Swiss army knife of the meat thermometers. There is a very responsive and clear monochrome LCD display that is easy to read in bright sun or in the dark thanks to its background light. That means it requires a battery, but it should last forever and they even included an extra one. The probe has a step so it's easy to determine where the end of the tip is when sticking it in the steak. With the easy self calibration, the temperature is also spot on, and the handy guide supplied with the thermometer makes the meat come out perfectly to each person's desire. It almost takes the fun out of guessing when I'm grilling steaks. Great product.
