Bought this during the black Friday sale and have used it a few times. It seems as if the compressor kicks on when there is a 5 degree difference between what is "set" on the controller. With that said, it cools down very quickly. It does not come with a basket, however I did some measurements and ended up finding a suitable solution. A 2 pack of the "Mohico wire storage basket" item B085NZ63G3 on amazon (bought for around $17 shipped) that measure 10.5"x8"x 5" each and a thick cutting board from dollar tree ($1!) that I drilled/"swiss cheesed" for airflow along with shaving off ~1/8" on one end and it fits snug and allows layering! While I've seen other more expensive fridges come with a single basket, having two baskets allows you to have 1 basket for your meats, 1 basket for your veggies/cheeses/etc, and then you have space on the shelf for drinks/etc and you could even layer another of the same sized basket or a longer basket if you wish. I did hardwire this to my vehicle for added peace of mind and to avoid the common flaw these fridges deal with with the cigarette plug adapter so hopefully I don't have to worry about this issue. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about ice

I live this unit. I keep in my vehicle at all times. I use it in town for grocery shopping. I also use it for longer trips. I tested and it went from 70 degrees to 30 degrees in about 30 minutes. I don’t regret the purchase and would recommend. I was told i should avoid an off brand but I bought anyway. I run it off 12 volt. No issues at all but I’ve only had two months.

I have always wanted a plug in cooler for camping trips. I never wanted to spend a large sum of money on something I occasionally use. The price of this unit made me rethink that. I was skeptical because i didn't know the brand. Over the past week I've been using it at a temp of 45 degrees. I checked it with my laser thermometer is was very accurate and kept a consistent temp. I have no idea how fast it will drain the battery on my suv at max setting, but It worked great all day. The size and construction of this is great and i love the locking lid. The only thing i hope they will add in the future would be hooks to tie it down. I'll update in the future with any changes.

I was using a ice cooler for all my road trips but there were drawback like filling with Ice and it always created a mess in the car. Although it was good for drinks but it was not helping for food like marinated meat for grilling. I was looking for a solution to keep my drinks and food cold and dry. I bought this freezer for my road trips. Its not too big but van hold good 24 cans or 12 cans and good amount of food. I have a 12V plug in my truck so I didn't need the long cable but the good part is that the power cord is 12ft long. I also ordered AC power cable so that I can keep my freezer in my garage, cool it in the night and next day morning, load it in truck and ready to hit the road. The both side opening lid design is really helpful. I can adjust the freezer anyway I want. Its not very bulky and huge so it doesn't take a lot of space in the trunk. I am thinking this will be aa good addition inside my home too as when winters come and I can't do road trip, I will use the AC cable and will cool my drinks in it. Although its un-branded but it is giving better performance than a branded one. The freezer doesn't freezes the contents and my beer cans stay chilled and my food stays frozen with no ice building up. Now I have my road trips in style. Next year summer will be huge fun with this new freezer. Love It!!

This thing came packaged the best of anything I have ever received. The cardboard probably weighed almost as much as the freezer. I hooked it up to a motorcycle battery that I keep as a backup for my CPaP. Within an hour it was below freezing. And it had just came off a UPS truck on a hot day. I plan to keep it adjusted at around freezing and figure out where I need to keep ice to keep the ice frozen while camping. We have several Mennonite surplus grocery stores in our area and have already used it to go out there and buy frozen food.

Perfect for road trips. Keeps food and drinks cold. Holds 24-16 oz cans. Easy to read and use digital screen/controls. The reversible lid is a great feature. You can switch the opening direction without moving the entire cooler. Comes with an 8 foot long 12 volt power cord. So you can plug it in your dash and run it to the back seat or trunk.

i have tried this cooler for now at home, it does quickly cool and also yes freezes with enough battery power. it does seem to draw about 6.0 amps on 12 volts no matter the temperature you choose. I will update my post when trying in the heat and on solar power assist for battery charge while i am dry camping. So far is as advertised and works well..

It came at about 95 it was really hot out, w/in 20 minutes it was at 40 degrees. The DC adapter worked fine but I'll purchase a AC adapter as well. Great for camping, boating, by the pool, off grid, emergency for medical during power outages.

We took it on a road trip and it worked great. It stays pretty cold if you unplug it overnight. It does not come with a 120v to 12v adapter, FYI. The temperature appeared to be a little off, but it's nothing I couldn't manage.

I bought this because I was tired of my food getting soaked with melted ice, etc. I've used it on half a dozen road trips and it's amazing! One time it was 100 degrees out for three days. I had it hooked up the entire time and food was at set temperature (33) and it didn't stress my battery. Love the temperature and battery voltage display.
