Quite Interesting

Honestly, I’m adopted and I don’t know anything about my DNA history. I took this test (which included not only the DNA but the health history too) and it helped me learn more about my health and who I am related to. I honestly believe people should do this and learn all about their DNA history, it’s amazing!

Great value and analysis of ancestry origin, basic analysis for the health/wellness addition.

This was very easy and quick to use. It updates you every step of the way once you mail your sample in. The time frame was exactly as stated. I was excited to see my dna matches to add and confirm my ancestry tree I made. I like that it offers suggestions and gives you new leads based on your DNA to add to your tree. My kit had the addition of DNA health/wellness. I was a little dissapointed with this part. I thought they analyzed for every known condition, disease, or susceptibility. They only check a set of conditions. I was told I didn't have a factor for many of these. On the other hand it couldn't tell me definitively because they only checked maybe 7 genes for a condition when there could possibly still be a factor or mutation in 30 other genes related to a condition they do not test for. I think it translated to " you are probably okay, but there are other genes we didnt bother to check so maybe not". I expected more from the health and wellness side but I bought the bundle at a discounted price. It wasn't much of a difference from the kit without it. I bought it around black friday and got a good deal. A plus is you will be able to download all of your raw dna codes to keep. Then from there your whole world opens up and you can check for my detailed health issues and diseases. It was well worth the money and has definitely enhanced my research with my ancestry tree.

I’m so happy that I realized that I could order this through Amazon versus ordering from the site and having to wait for 8-12 day shipping! Just like if you were to order it through the site, it takes quite a bit of time to get your results back. I would recommend getting your kit through Amazon Prime to beat the shipping time and costs through the Ancestry site!

$149.99 for the test and basic information $$$ to actually use the information.

Unless your heritage is a big mystery this is nothing more than an entry point for more and more expense. You send in your saliva and then it gives you basic information. If you want to use the archives its more and more money. I do not think this is 149.99 well spent.
