Replaceable Presta valve core? Really?

Until the recent purchase of a single-speed, 27 inch bike, I wasn't aware that Presta valves have removable cores like Schrader valves. Different styles, but the same concept. The single speed had a flat tire for what at the time was an unknown reason, but ultimately turned out to be because someone had removed the valve core. I went through my stock of needing-repair presta-valved tubes and found one with a salvageable core, managed to remove it with pliers, and got the tire inflated. It was definitely time to deal with no spare cores and no proper tool either. This kit did both and I'm now better equipped and happier, too.

Better than the one in a Slime cap.

Got this because I wanted to put Slime in some new tubes and the stems were really tight and destroyed the one that's included in the Slime cap and then a second empty Slime bottle I hadn't thrown away yet. This one worked great, took just enough force to break the plastic one included in the Slime cap so this one held up fine. I found out one of my bicycle multi tools has one but where it lives on the bike I use the most this one can just live on my bike stand so no money wasted. Really happy with this very basic tool.
