This item was listed as specifically for my TCL TV which does not have any RCA inputs, but does have an accessory input. I had read reviews suggesting that it might be necessary to switch some of the plugs but that was not the case with this adapter. I plugged the 3.5mm jack into the TV and plugged the three RCA cables into the adapter, matching red, white, and yellow. I turned on the VCR and the TV, selected the AV port, and instantly had picture and sound. Now all my old VCR tapes can be dusted off and watched again.

Works as advertised for TCL (and possibly Sony, but haven't tried that one)

Works on TCL as advertised. The reason these types of cables can be finicky is apparently different TV manufacturers have different standards for which position on the pin the ground is. But this particular one works for sure on TCL (first hand experience) and from research, I think it should work in most Sony's also (although you may have to switch some of the colors around i.e. yellow male to red female and red male to yellow female), but will NOT work on Samsung or LG TV's due to a different spot on the pin being used for ground.

This is the 2nd adapter that I bought for my new TCL TV ... did not realize the first time around that it needed to be specific to that brand. The first one did not work...transferred sound but no video. This one works perfectly!

Best for getting composite video from a 4K TCL TV!

I bought a 4K UHD Roku TV made by TCL back in May of this year. As a nostalgic individual, many of my electronics use A/V (or composite video). Until recently, I used an AV to HDMI adapter. When I stumbled upon this, I had to get it! Arrived very quickly and works like a charm! Great value to! Recommended for anyone still using AV electronics and owns a 4K UHD TV by TCL!

Worked with my TCL TV as Advertised

I have a newer model TCL TV and this adapter worked like a charm for my Wii. Plug this in where it says AV Adapter on your TV manual part description. It will be the yellow circle in back of the TV, then plug the same colored wires into the other 3 plugs, put your TV onto AV (or what you nicknamed it) and it should be working -easy peasy!
