I am a somewhat late bloomer as far as fixing things around the house. Evidently getting low on funds and having time on my hands were enough incentives to learning how to fix things. Every time I am confronted with a new project I always remember that millions of people before me faced the same difficulty and managed to make an appropriate repair. So I usually sit back and contemplate the simplest solution. If that doesn't work it's off to the internet and YouTube to see how other people have attacked the same problem. I have been partial to DeWalt since I started using their battery-powered tools when working on my landscaping in our large yard. Then I started picking up some of their lithium battery powered tools for work inside the house. DeWalt has always been regarded as putting together high quality products that are durable and easy to use. So when I started looking for a new tool kit I naturally looked at DeWalt. This particular 168 piece kit has basically every set of sockets, wrenches and hex keys I need, both in standard and metric sizes. I wanted a tough well-built set because at my size I can put a lot of torque on a tool. These are made of a durable steel and are also well engraved as far as sizes. One of the major drawbacks I have noticed in other sets is the inadequacy of the tool box itself. This DeWalt set is organized in a strong case and everything snaps into place. I hate it when all of the tools in a set drop out of their intended spaces and have to be placed back into the proper inserts. No problem with this DeWalt set. For what you receive I wouldn't consider this set to be overpriced. Strong tools properly stored in a durable case with a large variety of sizes and configurations. I don't believe that I've ever seen a more cost-effective price.

I could go on and on about all the great things I love about this set. About how well made everything is or how convenient having 3 different sizes of ratchets is or how much I love having an extra storage box built-in for any extra bits and pieces I've collected over the years... but I won't because I'm sure you don't have all day. I'll get right to the bad things.... It's fairly heavy and I wish the yellow box was bigger. That's about it. other than that I'm in love with this set. Yea, it gives me a workout when I lug it around but it's worth it. If you need a nice, quality set that has everything, then this is the set. I bought it for 2 reasons: 1) I love the Dewalt power tools so I thought that they'd make a quality set of ratchets 2) I wanted something that could hold a few extras inside the case so I didn't have them hanging around loose. Check and check.... And if you don't want the box (which comes with a bunch of screw driver bits) and a couple of other extras, they make a smaller kit that's just as nice! Just as good as all the Craftsman sets I've had over the years if not better. PS: They could have added a breaker bar in there I suppose... :)

Awesome tool set. Comes with a ton of sockets and ratchets. Comes with angled adapters for hard to reach bolts. Screwdriver and bits seems decent, I wasn't super blown away. I do wish it came with a few more wrenches but I knew what I was buying so I won't deduct stars for that. All in all I would buy it again. The case is solid. Also, the entire set is a bit heavy. If you're a normal guy or girl you shouldn't have an issue carrying it around your house or to and from your garage. And lifetime warranty is great

I love it! I have an old Craftsman USA kit and loved the tools but hated the case. Very poorly made. After awhile everything in the kit was scattered all over the place and I dreaded getting anything out of it. Seemed like it took me a half hour to find the right socket sometimes. I finally got tired of this and found this DeWalt. Time will tell as far as the durability, but the case holds ALL your tools snug! It's also not too big and heavy to lug around the house or in and out of the vehicle.

This is a very well made socket and ratchet set. It is very, very, sturdy and does include a release button . The individual sockets are definitely stamped with the SAE or the metric designation. All pieces, the ratchets, the individual sockets, extensions, and angle sockets are finished to a professional finish. All of the corners, angles, and depressions, and curvatures are manufactured so well that they appear to be almost machined. The case is very sturdy and has a strong metal buckle on every side. I really like the quality of this case. All pieces of the entire set snap tightly into their slots and definitely stay very well fixed in position when case is opened. I like the way SAE is on one side of the case and metric is exactly opposite on other side making it easy to find everything. This set includes 28 piece MM/SAE HEX keys, and a large set of star bits with a vinyl grip multi driver. I did a lot of research before buying and am really happy with all aspects of this set. I have used DeWalt power tools for years and I believe they put only high quality products on the market. I almost forgot to mention how well the wrenches are made, they are well balanced and finished nicely. This is a large set, everything you will need in one place, and I carry it without hesitation up and down my long driveway to whatever car I'm using today. You will really appreciate the quality, especially if you love good tools.

As I have said in other reviews, I have several DEWALT ratchet & socket sets. I can tell you that there are differences with in the Dewalt line that aren't apparent online or with out detailed examination at the set/kit level. Prices have fluctuated dramatically so do your homework! Compared with most consumer tool sets this set is in my opinion better then average quality and nice selection of full Chrome 168 pieces. Overall this set has many advantages, starting with 3 solid 72p ratchets that have a good ergonomic weight and feel. But the Socket selection still has skips of many important socket and wrench sizes with in common use range it has good overall coverages. But at the price I paid just under one hundred dollars it still is an outstanding value regardless. The good news is the Dewalt stands behind the product they warranty quickly and easily!

I was looking for a tool set that had as many items as possible in one carrying case. It was surprisingly hard to find a set that didn't include tons of unneeded items, so I'm really glad I found this set. It has pretty much everything I use on a daily basis, and best of all, it fits everything into a small yet easily accessible case. I wasn't even looking for a driver set, but was very pleased to see that this has one built in (the little yellow box). It allowed me to replace my old and mostly broken Craftsman set while also simplifying my tool set. The only items useless to me are the Allen wrench sets, but as you can see in my picture I replaced one of them with a Kobalt star bit set that fits in the box almost perfectly. I'm devising a way to replace the other set with some pick tools. In the yellow box you'll see I added a cheap

I probably looked at 3 dozen socket sets before deciding on this one. I was trying to replace a 30 year old set that originally had a good selection of sockets in Metric and English for 1/4 and 3/8" drivers including a screwdriver handle. This one came the closest to what I thought I wanted, and it had much better reliability ratings than many other traditionally good quality tool sets from brands that have recently started manufacturing in China. (Think of the brand that our fathers and grandfathers always bought from the local department store because of the amazing lifetime warranty...) I'm very happy with how well the various objects stay where they belong in the case. I'm also pleased with the feel of the drivers. Having all 6 point sockets was also important to me, and this set doesn't have any of the flakey 12 point sockets. I didn't think I wanted the allen sets with the socket set, but I've already used them 4 or 5 times in the last month, so I've decided they are worth the extra weight and I've left them in the set. A previous reviewer said that the hex key sets don't snap into the case, but in my case they do snap in, and stay right where they are supposed to until I need them. I've recommended this set to several friends.

Dewalt is the best as far as I’m concerned. This set is excellent and has everything you’d ever need for home improvement. I always needed a ratchet set for hanging TVs and the like, and this one fit the bill no especially love the drill bit ratchet attachment which makes installing lag bolts so easy. Highly recommend.
