Well-made and great customer service. Hard to get arms to move.

This is my first weight distributing hitch, and I love it. I bought a 32ft travel trailer for my 2017 F150 2.7l V6, and it tows like a dream. I loved the installation videos as well as the detailed instructions both in the app. It was very clear how to install it. Total install took me about an hour for the first time. My only issue was how stiff the spring arm bars were. To get them open was extremely difficult for me. So much so that I thought something was wrong with it. So I'm sitting at the RV dealership getting ready to bring home my new rig and frantically searching online for a fix so I could hook up. And right on the WeighSafe web site was a livechat box, so I gave it a shot (seems like no one responds to anything these days for some reason). The chatbox asked for my cell number and comments, and so I put it in - and a technician texted me immediately and asked me to send a quick video. I did, and he assured me this was normal, and that I just had to try harder to get the arms opened. 5 stars for customer service! The spring arms, on the other hand, very difficult. I nearly threw out my back sitting on the ground with my hands pulling on one bar and feet pushing the other, but it finally moved. I read in the instructions that the bars should be stiff (to prevent sway, of course) - but I didn't think it would be that stiff. In any case, I'm writing this to let others who may have the same issue know - just try harder, and try not to give yourself a hernia. Once I got through that part, everything else was a snap. There's a fair amount of loud popping when you're towing around corners, but I'm told this is normal (and everything seems just fine). Again, this was my first time using a WDH, so I wasn't entirely sure. I love the technology used here, and love that it's made in the USA, and the customer service is awesome. I would highly recommend. PS, I am writing this using my wife's account since we share a prime account. I'm 5-9, 160lbs, and pretty strong for my size. And I'm sweating just thinking about getting those dang bars apart, and then pushed back together.

Towing for dummies made simple

I'm new to towing and recently bought a MAXX-D Drop-N-Load trailer (3750lbs) for my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado RST. The trailer, when leveled, has a tongue weight of 750lbs. Yeah, my truck squatted pretty low with headlights pointing up. With my track car on, the trailer weighs 7250lbs and had a tongue weight at 800lbs...that's plenty of squat. I know they advertised that it takes 20-40 min to setup, but it took me almost 2 hours to get it straightened out. Not bad in my opinion as I only had very limited knowledge on how to work it. I was freaking out that the tongue weight was at 1700lbs with little squat. I came to my censuses as I realized that the tongue weight didn't change, it was just a distributed tongue weight. The scale in the ball is genius. Adjustment on the fly. Overall, I'm happy with Weigh Safe and their towing app. It's better to use the app for distributing the weight than it is trying to read the directions. I would, however, write down the measurements. My hitch doesn't look like it's going to hit the ground after a big bump anymore and the truck has only a little squat as compared to without the distribution bars.

Very good product

First one I have used very easy to install worked nice. It was shipped very well I like the gage and adjustment on it helps a lot. Halls my 31 foot bunk house camper nice.

If you tow more than one trailer, this is your hitch.

Down side? Expensive. Upside? Best hitch I've ever owned. Not only is it easy to set up, the versatility for my different trailers and load configurations is off the charts. The phone app makes it a snap to set up the correct load on the hitch. I tow two different enclosed trailers with differing loads in both and the phone app stores my settings for all of them. The extra 6 inches of offset from my cabover camper is icing on the cake. The old adage you get what you pay for rings true on this one

Highly recommend

We are new to camping with a travel trailer. It took my husband a minute to get it set correctly. But any questions about this product the company was most helpful helping him over chat. This is very heavy duty and looks like it will last a long time. Highly recommend.

Quality product

I really like the engineering that went into this hitch. The app that is used for setting up the hitch to get proper weight distribution is easy to use. When set up properly the truck and trailer sit level and provide sway control as well.
