Gain and frequency adjustments very helpful and important. Allowed me to remove some bass from headphones that were beyond eq of TV. It also included the power supply and optical cable so its ready to go IF you have a optical output on your TV. Using the optical output doesn't kill the speakers on the TV where if you only have a output for earphones plugging into it will in most all TV set cut the audio to the speakers.

Impressive DAC.

Impressive build quality, clear audio without cracking, & ease of use. Highly recommend for optical to analog audio. Have been using for several hours now and unit is cool to the touch as well as the AC adapter. Continuing to test the unit, will update review if I witness anything different. However Im happy with this purchase at this time. Side note: the audio volume dial is very handy!

It converts audio.

"Sheerness"... Not sure what that is. It is a small product. It does what it's supposed to. It converts audio. The bass knob does not seem to do much. The audio knob works tho. Took about 10 minutes to set up and another 25 minutes to get the audio right for my television and external speakers to work together.

Works great on my new big Samsung TV - just make sure to switch audio from Dolby to PCM

I purchased my new Samsung TV and when it came, the only audio output it had was optical! My karaoke system and SONOS input are RCA analog. Fortunately this optical to analog device worked perfectly with my mixed environment. The optical from my TV was converted to analog (RCA) and then I was able run that into my Karaoke mixer, allowing me to use my microphones. My karaoke mixer also had analog to my SONOS so was able to route the TV audio to my SONOS surround as well. At first it didn't work but all I had to do was go into the Samsung TV Audio optical out settings and changed it from Dolby to PCM. So happy and glad this worked.

Works as intended.

Works with my old LG phone, considering it's running on the older Bluetooth V 4.2 The range can be choppy around corners into other room, very likely due to my old phone, or the range would be much greater. I put near the window, and had it hooked up to the stereo, and was able to select music throughout the entire back yard. I like the volume control, and the small metal case is sharp looking. Good for the price, comes with the power cable to connect to a USB outlet, optical cable, manual.
