For a few months, I have been searching for a cleaver to add to my knife collection for the kitchen. There are few items as brutally efficient in the kitchen as a cleaver, to my way of thinking. Due to this belief, I wanted the most rugged and aggressive cleaver I could find. This was the contender that finally won out. It is big and has a heavy blade that is hard enough to hold a sharp edge through some pretty excessive chopping. I love that it takes the classic cleaver shape, a rectangle of metal with a handle that has been honed to an edge on one side while it remains a thick slab of metal on the other side and a hole at the tip, and says what if it looks like it is trying to grow a horn where that hole used to be, close the hole and leave the thick edge with forging marks. It looks like it has a bone to pick with every piece of meat it sees (like what i did there?). It came quickly and as soon as I had it out of the box, it made me happy. It just felt like a kitchen tool. I have a ton of kitchen gadgets, but this is a TOOL It is built to do work. If I carry it out to the garage it doesn't feel out of place. I love the heft and the solid full tang. It moves without flex or wobble. I may have used it for EVERYTHING the first week, so I can say it spreads mayo surprisingly well. I kid you not, I am grinning just thinking about this choinky boi right now. If you have a guy in your life that likes the kitchen or the grill, this is a perfect knife to buy for him. Buy this cleaver you won't regret it

This is the best cleaver I own and it's less than half of the price of my others. It will cut thru frozen meat and bones without any dulling or damage. Holds as good of a edge as some of my $200 plus knives. The handle is solid and smooth and it has good weight.
