I wish I had found this years ago. I have always had the old Swanson speed square. The markings on this one are much more precise! I use it as my short tape measure all the time now, whereas a Swanson speed square mark seems like 1/16 inch wide so you have to kind of decide which side to go to which is not an issue with this one. The extended scribing notches are what sold this for me because that is something I use all the time but I didn't realize till I got it that you were able to mark up to 3 1/2 in going the other way with markings. I will never own a different square and I wish I didn't already buy a 12 inch square because I would be getting one to match this and I still might.

This is a nice square. Feels very solid. Easy to read. Price was great! I would buy this again.

My first rafter square and I’m wondering what took me so long to buy one. I’ve had it for weeks and have used it 3 times. Great size, easy to use, and recommend different videos on YouTube on how to use it.

I really like this black white numbers model over solid aluminum as its WAY easier to read. Durability yet to see years in my bag but so far so good.

Best square for easy to read markings. Most squares are more crudely marked (almost sloppy) but this one is like fine etched and very impressive. Okay, it did cost a little more but the quality is outstanding so I'll go with Johnson from now on.

When I selected this, I compared against cheap plastic, and super expensive squares. What sold me on this, and I continue to be happy with, is the quality of the markings, which are on par with the $150 titanium square. If it had a level, it would be perfect.

Great tool I bought two of these one silver and also the black, love the 51/2" scribing spots way better than most that only go to 31/2". Pays for it self on the construction site in the first week

Great product, easy to read markings. The only thing I don’t like is the pivot notch. A lot of squares have this so the issue isn’t specific to this one. When trying to mark a line all the way to the bottom edge the notch for pivot is in the way.

Great tool. You can tell it’s quality just by holding it.

I bought this because it looked well made and easy to read. I was not disappointed.
