If you're looking for a square, you're in the wrong place. This is, in fact, a triangle, but I'm no quitter. So, I went back, bought another triangle, and put them together. Clearly this was how the product was meant to be used

I am just a simple DIYer with a skill saw as my only power tool for cutting lumber and doing projects. With the speed square I can now confidently and easily mark distances and straight lines (including angled lines), and I can now also easily cut in a straight line using the speed square as a guide (see YouTube videos on speed squares). This simple tool has made DIY projects infinitely easier and more accurate. I can't speak to the accuracy like some professionals can, but it gets the job done for the basic projects I'm working on. Sure, the marks are only indented, not in a different color, but I don't have any trouble reading them. And yes, it is some kind of hardcore plastic, but if I wanted a metal speed square I would have spent the extra money.

Perfect square for most any carpentry/craft projects. Tough plastic is lightweight and marks are easy to read. Hi-Viz orange makes it harder to lose. I am a contractor and for general crew usage it is ideal. Even the most inept junior assistant carpenters helper on my crew loves it. And I love it with great price point, hi-viz and its tough. Excellent . I bought 2 of these . Paid cash. As a professional building contractor in Eastport , Maine , I highly recommend this square.

I didn’t actually check the validity of the square but presumed it was accurate given it’s a Swanson product. I mainly used this to (obviously) mark square lines and use as a guide to make square cuts using my circular saw. I recommend this plastic one over a metal square for 3 reasons: 1. It’s bright orange instead of gray 2. It’s marginally lighter 3. It’s thicker and serves better as a guide for the saw

Line your cut mark, hold it secure on your board and run your saw guide against it. Fast! Great addition to my shop and I purposely chose the neon orange because I lose everything. I can read the numbers just fine, but if you can't, just rub some graphite on it. (pencil lead) Git 'er dirty! Perfect size for my small hands, lightweight but strong (yep, I tried to break it) price is nice and now my projects don't look like I have a drinking problem. :)

This tool is accurate. It has no warp, cannot be bent, and costs WAY less then a metal one. I got it to replace my old speed square that has been loved through the decades. The inches are spot on, and the straight edge and 90% angle is perfect. If you are close to it, it's easy to read, but it's shiny orange, and the numbers are impressions, not painted on so from a distance you are going to have trouble.

Lighter weight than the metal version, of course, so if you are trying to lessen your load, this may be a drop in the bucket, but at least it's a drop, right? Every little bit helps. I'd suggest rubbing the faces with something that will make the molded-in letters, numbers, and markings stand out better against the orange background.

Really was very pleased and impressed. I thought with it being made from plastic/polymer that it wouldn’t just be inexpensive, but that it would be cheap and cheaply made. I’m happy to say that’s not the case. Checked it with some of my other squares including some high end Starret carpenter squares and it’s dead on. Great bang for the buck on these and the nice thing is it’s super bright so it’s easy to find and if you do somehow lose it, then it’s not terribly expensive to replace it. All around a great value.

I wasn't sure how durable this square was going to be compared to the metal one. I was pleasantly surprised that this square holds up well. The material is shatter resistant and it has all the measurements the metal has molded into it. I like how the square has a ledge that keeps it secure against the board while you mark. Great value for the money.

So, I'm building a house and doing a lot of the work myself. I bought this for siding - best $3 I've spent on this entire project. Seriously, this is nothing fancy, but it works great to pencil a quick line, scribe, or measure pitches. Heavy duty plastic has held up to some serious abuse on the jobsite. I'm kicking myself that I haven't owned one for years.
