Wow...okay. Geeking out about a 3 hole punch. Yeah I'm not proud. This is the three hole punch you are looking for. You will pass this thing on to your children's children and they will thank you. It eats through chads like dulcolax through my grandpa's colon. It is fantastic. It will plow the chads right out of 40 pages and keep at it all day till you have a pile of confetti at your feet and you survey all that you have perforated with the satisfaction only known to victorious gladiators in an arena or a Russian hacker that has stolen dnc emails. If you are tired of weak limp ineffective three hole punches that maul your prints...(more simile you ask? Okay)....like a Kodiak bear with a hangnail....like Freddy Krueger unpacking your grandmother's China.....then buy this hole punch. It punches harder and cleaner than Floyd Mayweather through a third rate mma competitor. Seers holes in paper like nuclear waste through a containment vessel in Washington state. This thing is that good. 8 stars.

Okay, I don't normally write product reviews, because I'm lazy. I especially don't normally write reviews on office supplies, because, ya know, meh. As a Life-Long Admin the struggle for quality office supplies is real. And a good hole punch has always been an issue for me. The ones we have that are heavy-duty are LOUD and rough. The ones we have that are quiet only punch 12 sheets at a time. They all constantly get jammed. The container for holding the "punch droppings" is hard to access or gets torn over time and you leave a trail of "punch droppings" everywhere you go. Well...all those issues are a distant memory now that I have THIS BABY! Seriously... I am in LOVE with this hole punch. It's sleek, its punching is quick and smooth (punches 40 sheets), and the compartment for holding the "punch droppings" is an amazing little trap door that is solid and secure! I've been punching up a storm and so far no jams. LOOOOOOOVE.

The absolute best 3-hole punch I've ever owned! Hands down, the advertisement of this item does exactly what it says it will do. I can easily hole-punch 40 sheets without a struggle. You never have to adjust the line up of sheets of paper, as there is a stopper at the end to give your papers the same location of holes each and every time. If you are in the market to buy one, this is the one. You won't regret it!

I splurged on something durable. As a homeschooling mom I wore out my last 3-hole punch. Over the last 10 years I never needed to move the holes (in fact it was the adjustable hole part that broke) so the fact that these are stationary doesn't bother me a bit. I like that it locks in the closed position for storage purposes. The motion is smooth and it easily goes through many sheets of paper. It feels very durable and I am happy with my purchase.

Purchased new major kitchen appliances and had a multitude of owner manuals and installation booklets. Wanted to place them in a single reference 3 ring binder. Purchased this because of the number of sheets it was advertised to punch holes. Outstanding product that works great and with ease!! Performed better than expected and well worth the price.

I have a class of 25 students and I can hole punch a whole class set of papers at one time. This saves a lot of preparation time. I wish I had bought this years ago instead of wasting time with the cheap ones. It looks sturdy, I hope it lasts for the rest of my teaching career.

We have had a cheap hole punch for at least 13 years. It has always been annoying. It only did 12 sheets, but 12 really meant more like 6. It jammed all the time. Finally the fun little circles started flying out a crack in the bottom plastic piece that contained the hole scraps and I decided it was time to replace it. This thing is awesome! It does 40 pages at a time, the emptying mechanism is first rate! It has a lock so I can store it in a rather shallow drawer quite easily! I don’t worry about carpal tunnel while using nor do I break a sweat! I also do not have to jump 3 feet in the air and land with all of my force on top of this thing to get it to punch! I am elated! Don’t buy a cheap hole punch if you can at all help it! You may have better ninja skills than your hole-punching friends who own this hole punch, but I doubt it because they will be spending all their time not un-jamming a cheap hole-punch and instead will be practicing their guillotine cutting skills ;).

This is a simple, sturdy punch which lacks most of the "bells and whistles" of its competitors to achieve "HOLE PUNCH GLORY". I gave its predecessor away due to multiple PROBLEM AREAS: 1. Competitor was capable of "adapting to different paper sizes with a SLIDING BOTTOM FEATURE which was always so LOOSE as to require constant readjustment--and not a few jobs which had to be redone; the dreaded "double hole" problem. This unit does not allow adjustment in that manner, and so IT CANNOT FAIL TO ACHIEVE ITS PURPOSE. 2. Competitor's "hole positions" could change by sliding pieces along a rod on left side--but lack of uniformity arose because it was not easy to always make the chosen hole position exactly equal. This unit does not allow such (unwelcome) "adaptability". 3. Competitor base, where all those tiny little punched out circles were stored, WOULD INVARIABLE COME LOOSE, scattering those "cute tiny circles" all over my desk, and floor, and papers. This has a STURDY base, which will not "accidentally" come loose. "Fit and finish" of the Bostitch product is excellent. 4. Competitor was also rated for "40 pages", but was so engineered that this required slamming my hand down on the lever, threatening to break the unit. This one has a kind of "two-part" lever action: (a) push hard to contact, then (b) increased resistance is met and harder force required. THIS WILL ACCOMMODATE MORE THAN 40 pages, but I do not recommend it. "NO POUNDING REQUIRED" here. If you are only punch up to 20 pages, you can do so EASILY while seated. If you are going for 40 or so, you will need to stand up and put your weight onto level. However, you will never feel like you are abusing the device. 5. Competitor had a recurrent problem with those teeny, tiny little punched out circles, which tended to ACCUMULATE between far left margin of punch and the rod creating the hole so that papers were pushed out from left margin, again, requiring, at times, the "double hole" approach--unsightly and frustrating. Simply made, sturdy, attractive, and easy to use, this is one piece of office equipment that fulfills my needs PERFECTLY. If you want all that "adaptability" and use for anything other than three hole (or just two "top hole") jobs, buy a (cheap) competitor, and cry, cry, cry as it fails you again and again--or spend hundreds on a professional level punch. Thank you Bostitch: GOOD PRICE; SUPERIOR FUNCTION; HANDSOME APPEARANCE, what's not to love?

My review is for the Bostitch EZ-Squeeze40 (HP40) Model. I've used a few different 3 ring hole punches before, and wish I had found this one years ago, Yes, it's large and heavy, but works flawlessly. Paper alignment is a breeze, the best I've ever used. This thing cost less than $22, but honestly, it would be a good buy at $65. It's that good. This is a heavy duty precision instrument that is leagues above the rest. Do yourself a favor and don't try to save a few dollars by buying a $15 punch or even a $10 dollar punch, because you'll actually be wasting money instead of saving because you could have bought this one that is worth fifty dollars more just for paying an extra five or ten dollars more. This is just an exceptional value at only 20 dollars and change. The moment you open the box, you'll know that you got a bargain, Something that will last decades. Easy to use, perfect paper alignment, and works flawlessly. You'll be losing out if you spend less, or spend more for something else.

Great hole punch. I’ve used a lot of these, and it seems like the largest one I’ve been able to find until now has been a 20 page punch. This one, while I haven’t punched 40 pages with it yet, works flawlessly. Very easy to operate, and punches right through. The chip tray is a little snappy when it unlatches, so just be careful not to sling little paper dots all over your office. Also, there was a little bit of lubrication (clear grease) on the blades for the first few punches, and it does leave a residue on the pages for the first 5-10 punches. It’s completely normal, and understandable (it is all metal - metal needs lube), and wipes off fairly cleanly. The only reason I mention it, is to say maybe don’t punch holes in something irreplaceable for the first few uses. It clears up after about 10 or so, and you’re great after that. 10/10 would recommend!
